The 1975 was supposed to be a safe space for queers, but what he's done in the name of so-called activism is risking us all here. As a fan of the band I'm so disappointed. Based off of his previous issues, I didn't have high expectations of him and how he was going to carry himself. But I thought at least he would put on a decent show before spouting stuff. I'm glad I didn't jump the gun and get tickets for GVF last minute because I would have been devastated.

It must be so frustrating to be a queer friend of Marty Healy rn- ultimately, his understanding of the community is through his queer acquaintances. When he did what he did, I really think in a twisted way he was trying to support his friends and honestly didn’t genuinely care about Malaysians at all. I bet his friends are really upset that he fucked over a whole legion of the community that he isn’t even a part of! Thanks for the episode and the reminder to take a step back and act with more sensitivity.

Thank you Matt Healy. Now the Government totally accepted and put LGBTQ++ on padestal. Every Saturday is a pride day, we have parade with gorgeous muscular firefighters in jockstraps and rainbow flags everywhere. Forget Oppenheimer and Barbie, all cinemas are now showing Brokeback Mountain until the end of times. Oh yeah television on rerun of Queer of Folks series, both the original UK version and the copycat US version. /sarcasm.
