No need to put some mothers down to lift others up. She had no purpose and her child gave her one. Some mothers had a purpose that having a child created strife from. Some have postpartum. Don't judge mothers.

This is a beautiful story! I’m a 44 year old man who has never been married nor had children. 3 years ago a child came through my school who had been abandoned by his parents. In short, I became a foster parent and in November 2020, I adopted him. Much like you, I had no purpose in my life. I had no drive and was depressed more than not. But becoming his father gave me a purpose, a reason to exist and to be the best I could be. We live in a tiny mobile home that’s older than me. We have what we need and can save for what we want. Many things in this life seem to be out of reach, it’s December and I’m still making payments on last summers 5 day vacation, but we have each other. My little boy has changed my life and given me a purpose and reason to be all I can be. I don’t know how I’ll buy him his first car or send him to college but I just have to keep trusting God and know that He will make a way.

I just want you to know that as a child of a single mother and always growing up on the lower end of the financial stick, I wouldn't trade any of it for the world. My mom being a single mother has taught me so much in life like what it means to be a woman and become an extraordinary woman myself. And seeing my mom work endlessly to give me ans my siblings a better life has never grown anything but appreciation for her. If you ever think you're not good enough for your daughter I can tell you that you are, coming from a daughter of a mother who was in your shoes. Just make sure any time you doubt yourself you look at your little angle and remember that no matter how small she is she knows her mommy is always there for her and that's all that will matter to her. She's not gonna grow up and think about how she didn't have that one toy and everyone else did, but instead she'll think about how even after long days at work her mom still came home and gave her a bath or made her food or even sang a song to her. Growing up isn't always about having the "best life", it's about having people that love you help you grow. Never feel like you can't take on the challenges at hand because you can. I wish you and you little angle all the best. Ik whatever yall are going through will turn into something grand in the end. Xxx

Is this was a. Black girl all the comments would be calling her a slut. And if she was poor she would not have the physical facilities (as well as her already not having the mental facilities) to take care of this baby OFC it’s not her fault to have privilege but it’s the fact she doesn’t recognise it and the fact she could be influencing other young children without this privilege to do such a thing . I’m officially impressed at how a 13/14 year old managed to be such a great and loving parent (from what I see) which is something that some parents who had kids when they were a lot older, are not able to do, especially since your still a legal kid yourself and no doubt have a lot to deal with anyway. And it really touched me when you said that this little one gave you a purpose you never knew you had. I wish you and your cute daughter all the best.

I was a mother at 17. I completely realate. I can't imagine doing it at 13 though. You are a great mama. My advice to you is no matter what finish getting your high school degree or GED. NEVER allow any man to ever make you question your worth and always believe in yourself. I wish someone would have told 17 year old me that motherhood is a whole lot of not knowing what your doing but all of us mom's out here take it one day at a time. Remember to forgive yourself. Mom's are human too. I remember graduating high school early because I knew I would give birth in April. I waited for college until my youngest was 5. I took classes at the community college during the day while the kids were at school. Then worked nights as a bartender... It was exhausting. I did homework alongside my kindergartener and 3 Rd grader. We made it. My children are now 16 and 13. I have my degree in a field that I love. I make out very well financially and I look back on it all and am so thankful for god, my children and the strenthg he gave me to juggle it all at such a young age. They grown so quickly as you said. Cherish these memories with all your heart. Prayers to you and your beautiful little angel.

@@lucindamobley5492 Absolutely. But, if she didn't have parents that supported her, and allowed her to live with them, and pretty much bought everything for her baby (she wasn't old enough to get a job when she had her baby, so she couldn't financially support her baby, or buy the things she needed) this video would have been an entirely different video! Not every teen parent has a supportive family, or a family that can help financially. And I didn't hear one thing about the father of her baby. Where is he? Is he supporting the baby in any way? Children need a mother AND a father. Children who are raised by both parents are more likely to succeed in life, more likely to finish school, and are less likely to commit crimes, and end up in jail. That is a fact. This little girl needs her father in her life. I didn't see any videos or pictures of her with him, or any pics of him, period. I hope she is going after him for child support. He shouldn't be able to get off that easy, and not take care of the child he helped to create. If she wants to do right by her child, she needs to make the father be responsible. And if he refuses to do so, take his ass to court! Then, if he still won't help, have him put in jail for failure to pay support! It takes two to make a baby, and the father shouldn't get off that easy.

Don’t listen to any of the naysayers. Although teen pregnancy isn’t to be glorified or encouraged, life happens. And you have shown how beautiful it can be. I think my favorite part of what I’ve watched so far was when you told of your mom’s reaction and her saying “we love babies in this house”. That was amazing. There was no forcing you into an abortion that you would have regretted. She responded in pure love. It’s easy, just from her response, to see why you are such a loving mother as you are. By the way, my “baby” is 28-years-old now and just starting a family now as well. It was a huge blessing to be a young mom (although difficult - I could not have done it without my parents!). And now be a young grandma is a blessing I can’t begin to describe. So while teen pregnancy isn’t what should be encouraged or glorified, once faced with the situation, handling it with grace and dignity and making the most of it is what we do. You chose LIFE, for your daughter to live and have the life she has now. You gave her that. You’re obviously doing a great job, ready for the challenge, and have a great support system. But for those teen moms who don’t, and who aren’t ready, there are SOOO many families out there who can’t get pregnant and so desperately want to be parents themselves. Those people are just waiting for a beautiful baby to love and raise. Please give your babies a chance at LIFE and being loved too, even if you’re not ready or able to do it yourselves. Remember, you are always stronger than you think you are and can do more than you ever imagined. Love your babies and enjoy every moment with them. They truly grow up so fast. God bless you and your journey Maddie. I hope to be able to continue watching you and Everly grow up together and see what God had planned for your lives.

It's not a cure for infertility When you tell someone those words you are completely dismissing the pain (both emotional and physical) that we are going through. The words themselves completely discount the loss and grief that almost always accompanies infertility. Also, adoptions through private agencies can cost $20,000 to $60,000. I still don't suggest it and don't think we should encourage with a special day for teen mom's. They can celebrate mother's day just like any other mother because they aren't any different. She also had her own struggles in life, and that shouldnt be invalidated just because it seemed as if she was optimistic about it. Yes, it is important to tell kids to practice safe sex and to stress the importance that having a baby will be hard, expensive and overall strenuous, which is not something a 13 year old should be doing, but this video is to uplift her child and tell her how much she loves her, not to praise teenage pregnancy as some sort of hailed gift.

While I agree with the overall positive message in this video... please don't have kids at 13. Life is hard, and it seems like this young lady's parents are supportive, but not every parent wants to go through raising a child and that child's child. Enjoy your childhood, parenting will come later in life. Find a purpose in life, chase the dream, THEN earn the right to be a parent. It's easy to make kids, but not when you're still depending on others to make it through teenage parenthood.

Why there is no one who thinks that being a mother at 13 or 14 is not ok? I am sorry...in my country only girls from very poor and uneducated families ar teen moms. The other girls are kids, they play, go to school, have fun...and when they have sex they use protection. Ok, she is a good mom but you can't be an inspiration...because not everyone has what she has. Her story is a happy one but don t make an example out of it.

I agree with this, this should not be normalized. I understand she is being a good mom but it also shouldn’t be taken so lightly

I agree! I am older than her and tbh, I never even had that thought! In fact, when I was 12 (the age she did it) I busied myself with other stuff like cartoons and going to parks and shopping. DEFINITELY NOT THIS! she's so s3xually matured, but you can't do anything about that. It's just a part of life ig, and maybe she just made one bad decision. She didn't think about it. But still, i feel like its very wrong to have a child at 12! Oh my god. But she does state that having a baby caused her happiness, and its a new chapter of life, so i assume that she didn't do it for the s3x but she desired to have a kid. Who knows. We can't judge her.

Not yet? You wanna be a teen mom? Getting pregnant as a kid having to take care of a kid. Having to push a baby out of yo7 and having sex with a boy because your irresponsible and you wanna still be a teen mom? You shouldn’t be proud of her she was dumb and got pregnant in the first place.

This is all so messed up! Stay in school and "support" yourself first. There is a reason why u can't drink, drive or vote yet! Enjoy your early years you can always be a mum once you have a partner that's ready to be a dad, once you have the financial means to "support" yourself and the child, when you have to senses to be "responsible" for another Human baby! This video shouldn't be motivating you - your books, your career, your new hopes for a good college should be! Be good to yourself darling

How true. It's big government that makes decisions over how a woman controls her own body that ruins people's lives. It shouldn't be a greasy old man in Congress or the Supreme Court that makes life decisions for a woman.
