Wow a few seconds in and already sobbing... I am a first time mom 7 weeks postpartum and I am struggling... which I did NOT expect. I have an amazing husband, support system, stable finances, no past trauma, no prior mental health struggles, etc. so color me shocked when every day I'm crying begging the Lord for strength and patience and wisdom even on a decent day. I did not expect the grieve my old life because my husband and I didn't even do that much. The enemy is really preying on my vulnerability and emotions and every day I just pray that the Lord will use these trials for my good and his glory, and that he will thwart the devil's attempts to steal my joy and make me think that this beautiful little gift from God was a mistake. I have never prayed more in my life than I have the last 7 weeks and I just pray it will strengthen my faith and produce endurance, making me mature and complete, lacking nothing as James 1 says. THANK YOU for making this video 🙏🏼 I feel so encouraged and less alone.

Read the Word out loud to yourself and baby. The enemy made me feel silly doing it. Take every thought captive! You are the Momma Bird feeding your baby bird the Word. It feeds their spirit and has nothing to do with comprehension. Take baths or showers. Do your makeup if you want to just to relax and feel pretty. Go for short walks to pull yourself together. Call an older mother for encouragement. Eat well. Play worship music. Oh, the loss of freedom. It hit me hard with the first one. From the time I started driving at 16 to 23, I came and went as I pleased. The baby came. I had next to zero support. My baby hated driving in the car and wouldn't sleep on outings and would come home and scream from being overstimulated. My b00bs were engorged. It was very difficult. See my advice above. Add to it journaling if that helps you process things.

What a beautiful comment. The second was more of a shock for me that my first, however here I am trying for a third 😊 wanting our “Freedom” back is the flesh needing to control things and our fear in not wanting to let that control go. True freedom comes from surrender. 🙏🏼

I am hoping this makes sense but I have a 7 year old a 5 year old and a 3 year old and we are new on our walk with Jesus Christ with applying God's word and his teaching in our life and in our home so I am a baby believer in Christ and so are my 3 children ... So this video spoke so much to me because they might not be newborns in age but they are newborns in Christ in this new walk and oh my goodness I am so thankful for this Milena 😢😢 thank you so much Lord thank you I will be hearing this beautiful message over and over again because this feels like postpartum taking care of newborns my children and myself wow 😮‍💨😓

True. You're so tired. You reek. Your b00bs hurt. Your baby is overstimulated and inconsolable. You may have little support. You have crazy, disturbing thoughts. One thing I learned later is to quit being a Martha and be a Mary for about 6 weeks. No pressure to go back to "normal" or church or even the store. I call it laying low. I was schedule feeding. Here's a hack for getting a few more hours of sleep: Do your evening feed at 7 or 8 and GO TO BED!! Don't stay up till the 10 or 11 pm feed. Then feed whenever they wake in the night, but when they wake at 5 or 6 am (first morning feed), STAY IN BED until the 8 or 9 am feed. Doing this gets you at least 4 extra hours of sleep. A little trickier if you have other toddlers I know.

Milena, it is so hard to stay married to someone who never appreciates you. I’m a SAHM, I do all the things, at least that I know to do. I’ve been wearing dresses for the last 4-5 years, because I too was convicted to dress more modestly and femininely; my husband hates it. My husband finds more value in women who work. He has a negative view of me because I stay at home. I’m breaking so much inside; I feel so alone in my marriage, in my walk with Jesus, and in motherhood. Please pray for me. I’ve begged God to save my husband and my family for years. I don’t know what to do anymore. You are so blessed Milena ❤️ GOD bless

If you truly believe you are doing your best, you should not accept what you don’t deserve. I know its very difficult because Ive been there, however things will get better once you make the decision to transform your life… its hard at first but everyone can do it! Speak with him face to face and tell him: either you accept how I truly am or you dont, but things will change. And see if hes open to change. If not, think of the possibility of leaving to be really honest. Youre wasting your life with pain… with kids, I know its horrible. But you deserve as much happiness as your babies. Be happy!! 🩷
@jocelynbeggs
@jocelynbeggs 20 күн бұрын
The previous comment does not factor in God's view on marriage and the vows that we have made before God and others. Happiness is awesome, but we all have had seasons in our marriage that there was pain and unhappiness. But when God brings you through that, you're stronger as a couple and have a deeper love for each other. I'm not speaking about situations of abuse but of a general marriage going through hard times. Right now it sounds like your husband does not have the same convictions as you. He will need time to get there. Keep praying for him! Ask the Lord for wisdom in loving and sacrificing for your husband. If he prefers you in jeans, then maybe try wearing jeans a couple days of the week for him. He will see God's love through you when he sees you trying to love him especially when he knows you prefer dresses. Pray that God will give him perspective to understand the importance of house work and staying with your children. Pray that God will give you perspective to see and appreciate all the work he does outside the home. Ask him what's something you can do to make his life easier? If it isn't against God's Word, then see if you can start doing that out of love for your husband. God sees you and you show love and honor to God by loving your husband. There were seasons where I showed love to my husband ONLY because I was seeking to obey God. A tip would be read 1 Corithians 13. Read what love is and what love does. It encuraged me so much in my struggles. God is faithful. These are all just tips and advice that helped me. Praying for God to guide you. You're not alone!

Thank you Milena. 50 days pp with Baby 3 and despite it being my best birth, it has been my worst postpartum. Lots of emotions and exhaustion. It took me 4-6 months before I read my Bible again after having my last! I just completely forgot because every second was taken taking care of my kids.. then I realized every single day I would wake up to a Bible verse on my heart!! Even when I literally physically didn’t have a second to read my Bible, the Lord was still there talking to me, ministering to my heart 😊

This was me a few months ago. I started setting an alarm on my phone to go off so that I could read “Be not quick in your spirit to become angry; for anger lodges in the hearts of fools” every few hours during the day. It has been very life changing and now when my phone goes off I recite it in my head since I’ve remembered it and I just keep it with me.

Struggling adjusting to having 2 atm, feel like an easy target for guilt bc I really struggle when I feel torn between what each child needs from me when that sometimes clashes in the moment. Been caught off guard as I loved the transition to 1 and found it easy and precious. So delighted with my second longed-for blessing but often easily overwhelmed, even with great support and no complications, didn't expect the struggle, maybe was too complacent! X

I was there too, my girl was waking up every 45min until she was 18months old. Several moms told me it was their case as well until they stopped breastfeeding. I don’t know if it is your case, I really wanted to breastfeed until she was 2yo, but finally I couldn’t take it anymore and it really worked. The night wakes went from 10 per night to 2 almost immediately and soon she started to sleep throughout the night. I will pray for you and know that you are not alone but also you need and deserve to rest ❤

I know that you have probably tried EVERYTHING to get your baby to sleep longer, and that everyone's particular situation is different. However, I did go through something similar with my first daughter waking every hour until she was 12 months old and I discovered she just likes to sleep very cool. As soon as I started dressing her lighter for bed, she started to only wake around twice but if I dressed her thicker, lay a blanket on her, or changed the AC she would go right back to waking up hourly. Even the very slightest amount of dampness at the nape of her neck meant she was hot. Maybe your little one is uncomfortable?

@@delilahmertoglu It’s funny you say that. A few days ago I realized he seemed spooked by the blanket whenever he woke up at night. So I started not giving him a blanket and he slept a little better. But the last few nights it hasn’t made a difference and it’s back to every hour. I think it’s mostly separation anxiety, but even sleeping in the same bed as me doesn’t stop the wake ups. Thanks for the idea though!

@ElizabethSantay I hope I didn't offend with the suggestion - sleep deprivation is so hard. Hopefully it won't last much longer.

Getting ready to walk the postpartum road for the second time in just two short months. My first postpartum journey was so, so difficult. I’ve been trying really hard not to think about (& therefore dread) doing it all again, because I really want to enjoy these last few weeks with my firstborn. But I realize that by avoiding the topic I am also neglecting the intentionality that it takes to make the most of the postpartum season. This video challenged me to cover it in prayer and preparation. I love the idea of having three things that you want to accomplish/prioritize during those first 40 days. Such a helpful tip! I have watched your channel for a few years now & this was by far the most beautiful and genuine video you’ve posted. So thankful for you and your platform. God bless!

Dearest Milena, congratulations on your 4th Beautiful Baby, a precious little boy 🩵. I see that when you & Jordan were praying, your pets were with you, I once heard that animals will come & be near when we pray🙏🏼.. so precious. I love your beautiful 🍓 dress❤.

I gave birth to my third baby at 44 years old. The plethora of health complications was worth notice. After she was born healthy, I was feeling bad about myself because my full time job was nursing. The most important thing I could do for my baby and I felt guilty for not producing more. Society robs families of godly tasks because we always feel like we are lazy if we don’t “work harder and produce more” maybe it’s ok to “just” nurse. We will be a better society for it.

Up with my 6 week old eyes barely open breast feeding listening to this. Wow thank you ❤ I'm finding a group of women to rally around me this time. I joined mom groups and am reaching out. God led me to a mom at the park who had a baby the same day I had mine and we had a lot in common. I was about to leave the park when she saw me and felt the pull to call out to me and I think that's something special.

This Christmas I read in my Bible many times about Marry, “and she treasured these things in her heart” My 5 year old and I were talking and i was telling her about how she would grow up one day. She started to cry and said, “I wish it could stay like this forever!” I went and picked her up and hugged her and said, “that is why we need to treasure these things in our heart” …. It just came out of my mouth…. All of a sudden I just thought about Jesus, how there was a time he was 5 years old! And wondered if he said the same things to Marry! I thought, “she probably said that to him a lot!” I know John had “taken over” as her son in a way and would have known Marry and what she probably would have said that to him too. But that much have been “a saying” of hers. As a Mom of 3 and I became a Mom young too and felt like I missed out on things because of that, it really made me think about and Realize how much Jesus loves Moms!! Remember that he had one!!❤

Milena….never ever ever have I felt so understood. It wasn’t until about 6 months postpartum that I realized that Satan was attacking me and my husband all while we were exhausted and not sleeping with a colic baby for 5 months straight. When that lightbulb moment went off my life started changing. I was aching over the fact I didn’t spend much time in the Bible or in prayer or in Jesus’ presence much. But holy moly after that I started praying. My husband and I are now beginning a new journey with our faith after being kicked off the horse. Jesus is so good. Thank you for this video!!! It’s so encouraging and truthful.

Milena thank you so much for this video and your words and prayer.. I have an almost 5 month old and my postpartum experience wasn’t what I would’ve hoped it was, which in result made me rethink and turn away from wanting more children.. after this video I realized so many more things I could’ve done. But nonetheless, I will rewatch this video as much as I need during this journey with my first and my next to come. I will not let the enemy steal the blessing that my next children will be to their generations❤️🙏🏼
