I'm British. My grandfather fought Hitler from 1939-1945 (in France and then North Africa). I am grateful to Churchill. He was the PM to have in time of war and existential survival. After the war we needed a leader for peace and reconstruction. The people of these islands made the right choice imho. My grandparents remained Conservative voters their whole life. My father voted Labour and I vote and campaign for the Liberal Democrats. Times change. We need to adjust and we should never "go back". Going back is a recipe for stagnation and loss of character. Character is forged in the struggles of today. We have seen what going back means. We had Brexit. My country is diminished and poorer for trying to go back. Do not elect Trump. He will take America back and you will lose so much. It is so much harder to regain what is lost rather than to hang onto it.

It looks to me like Liz is jockeying to take the reins post-MAGA and rebuild a sensible GOP. They’ll need resources to have a shot at being a viable competitive force again. I love Tim Miller so much. I'm a pretty left progressive and we probably don't agree on most policy, but I appreciate Tim's honesty and humerous take on things. He has this amazing ability to inject light heartedness into a political atmosphere that can feel very dark and hopeless at times. Please keep calling Trump out on tariffs. Tariffs are NOT taxes on other countries. The costs are borne by the companies which import these products, costs which are factored into the price of the products. Small businesses are especially hurt by these tariffs.

Trump has no idea what a tariff does. 1 other countries retaliate on your stuff, and buy from different markets. 2 the last person to buy the goods- you the consumer- pays the tariff back to the seller, who paid the higher price to the manufacturer , who paid the tariff. So everything you buy is much much more expensive. This really isn't that complicated. All these MAGA saying " everything was cheaper 4 yrs ago" have NO CLUE about tariffs and inflation. Educate yourself before you vote!

Meh. The Democrats have SO MANY up and coming leaders. Also, I want to see changes made to support alternative parties, and I want the GOP to focus on making those changes. The post-MAGA GOP will be broke and demoralized. They can greatly benefit from national legislation that limits campaign season and corporate/PAC money, making it a more even playing field. Maybe hold out some public funds as a lure. Parties who file a platform affirming the rule of law and the Constitution can access a portion of a public pool.
