As a ceramic student, you used to put the milk in first because glazes (or the coating on the outside) weren't as heat proof. So adding the milk stopped the thermal shock between the hot water and the cup :)

Fun Fact: One year when we had intersession in elementary school, which was like optional school, and there was this thing called exploratory studies. That session, I signed up for a course where all you did was bring your favourite book and you could bring pillows and blankets and the teacher offered hot cocoa and tea. So you basically drink tea and read. And I'm now just realizing that that would probably be heaven for you, Carrie. Xxx

Hey Carrie, Goodness I love how much you love tea, and these rules are freakin adorable, and quite British. But I work at a local tea shop were in from, which mostly serves loose leaf tea, anywho some of these rules (which I find to rather be etiquette), are openly broken. For example when tasting tea you are encouraged to slurp because the air mixing with the tea is one of the best ways to taste it. Just sort of a fun fact, but the book sounds like fun!

Carrie! Chai = tea! so whenever you say "chai tea latte", you are saying tea tea latte. chai is not the name of that tea, it just means tea! the actual name is masala (if it's black. there is another one like that but green but I can't remember the name of it). :D

+Vesna Teja Ristič Hello! Chai is the indian word for tea yes...but Indian tea is very different from English tea. They infuse spices into their tea which we do not so spiced tea over here...we call Chai Tea because it's different from normal tea in England! Hope that makes sense! :) xxx

If you go to North America you should check out David's Tea. They're a Canadian company but I think they have a few branches in the States. They have LOADS of different flavours. My favourite is Birthday Cake Tea. It tastes amazing, and it has spinkles. :)
