Nice... One thing I'd note is that you can get more out of the clutch claw staggers, even if you don't need to soften a part or wall bag, if you hit them with a quick attack, then snag them with a clutch claw grab, then immediately release and start attacking again. Clutch claw resets the stagger timer, so if you're fast and close when it happens, you get 1 or 2 extra "free hits" by doing it that way.

I have a tip for frostfang if you cant get the head go for the tail and try the arms last as the arms are the least important break and the head is the most important as when you break it there is less ice and the tail is second most important for reasons that i shouldn't have to explain

They really should've released them in reverse, so many people complained about Alatreon being "too difficult" but all over Twitter the new complaint is Frostfang is "too easy." While I agree with Frosty-chan being a total pushover, you just can't win with people lmao can't ever be satisfied with anything!

Got Large Gold Crown on my 1st try lol. I think my setup was perfect against him,didn't even need potion. Use Paralyze LS, palico with flashfly cage,resistor 2,partbreaker 3 and break one of his front leg 1st then break every single thing that you can,tail too.

It took me 3 days to get Alatreon on solo farm. I had all of the Frostfang Barioth armor crafted less than an hour after patch. Bit of a letdown, but nice to have a punching bag for a change.

My first attempt soloing FF barioth can be summed up in 3 words ".... That was it?" Lol aside from that though, the monster itself is actually well made. It has attack patterns that make it feel like im in a fighting game. He has ice traps that when you step on it, FF Bari will immediately start buffering his double stomp super. And for people who love guarding, he sometimes has a tendency of placing ice traps behind you then do attacks that could push you to the ice trap which forces you to step on them. Its such s cool designed monster but the only problem is.. Yeah.. Alatreon was released first.. Basically we were all trained by Alatreon at that point where our dodging became on point and our spacing techniques shot through the roof. This is what happens when you serve the main meal first, before the appetizer Capcom.

Frostfang was a lot easier for me than normal barioth. I avoid the normal one like the fucking plague. Same with rajang and his furious version.

I feel like Frostfang Barioth was the break after event fest and Alatreon. Sure, his weapons and gear might be disappointing (from what I read on the Steam discussions), but I think its hard to top what Raging Brachydios and Alatreon, to a lesser level, gave us. I personally believe that Frostfang Barioth is meant to appeal to the casual players that use whatever gear they like rather than meta users, which might be why he's easier than his normal cousin imo. But Capcom, please give us Plesioth that can hip check the entire map or some big monster siege event again...

I mean his gear isn't bad at all for crit draw builds. His helm might be a go to generic helmet cause of crit eye 2 and good slots. His weapons are pretty meh though his lbg, and gunlance seem interesting. No deco slots really limits them though.

I think it would have worked out so much better if he had been released before or with Alatreon. That way it is a normal monster leading into a freaking black dragon boss fight, not the other way around. It also would have been the perfect set up, as he gives out decent ice weapons that would have been good for the special assignment Alatreon that always starts off in fire mode.

Y’all are already complaining about this guy being too easy. I hope you realize you’re the reason why alatreon was so atrocious. I’m not saying you can’t critique the game. Of course you can! However, when the only thing you say is “game too easy”, the devs are more inclined to make horribly done monsters like alatreon. You complain about difficulty, and they make an artificially difficult monster to try and compensate. Both the devs and community are at fault for monsters like alatreon

But alatreon isn't artificial difficulty. The only issue with him is bad telegraphing to explain how he works requiring community research and info sharing. The fact that all weapons have different build ups to his flinch and how easy his attack is to heal from after flinching him once or twice shows that a lot of care went into his design.
