Respected Sir, if a person has any unnoticed exposure to rabies(before taking preexposure rabies vaccination) and after somedays he took preexposure vaccine and completed the doses of preexposure vaccination. And he is alive after 1 month of preexposure. Then is he considered as safe from rabies even from the past incident? Sorry if disturbed you sir.

1. unnoticed dog bite doesn’t seem logical here. 2. Dogbite has got only two possibilities. YES or NO. There is nothing called probably. if probably comes, it has to be considered YES. 3. now, considering the dog bite to be YES, the doses which you have taken is incomplete. 4. incubation period of rabies varies from 1 week to 1 year. CONCLUSION - if dogbite is there, pre-exposure prophylaxis is not sufficient, if dogbite is not there, then you are safe

Sir, please give me advice. My dog is four years old and regularly vaccinated and quite healthyand normal. Last month or so, he was suffering from respiratory problem & continuously vommiting. I thought perhaps small bone got stuck up on his upper palate. So I opened his mouth to inspect it but there was nothing. I injected some oral cough syrup deep into his mouth with my fingers. Afterwards, I noticed that a small boil (छाला) on my palm has got broken & ruptured. Maybe while I was administering medicine to him. Am I in a serious danger of catching rabies through him? Hello sir, 3 months ago, a stray dog licked my finger, I was in a doubt that I had a small uncover skin in my finger. I have started my vaccination after 5 days of the incident. You should have observed the dog for 10 days. The case where the dog remained alive for 10 days, three doses would have been sufficient. Or else you should have taken complete course of ARV

Lekin sir mai confused hu 2days ka dose toh re-exposure mai diya jaata hai or Maine kabhi bhi pehle rabies ka vaccine nahi liya tha toh ye dose sahi hai kyaaa????? Sir I want to ask a question. There was a rabid dog which people killed and then me and my friend dig a hole to put it there. My friend carried that dog with a Y shaped stick and put it in the hole and broke the part of the stick with which it carried the dog and also put that part of stick in the hole with the remainder part of that stick. Then we started to put soil on the dog with sticks and suddenly my friend hit my finger with the remaining part of that stick accidentally i felt the hit but no blood was drawn. please dont worry, rabies vaccines are very safe. usually the side effects are very minimal. so please resume your doses as per schedule.....you just cant play with RABIES

Sir i just got bitten by a rabid dog (confirmed through my observation, as the dog was drooling alot), the bite was on my foot through my shoes, so no blood just two minor abrasion with little red marks. as per your history it seems to be category two bite so HRIG is not required in your case. You should get IM doses on alternate shoulder. Yes, it could be the side-effect of vaccine.
