Is anyone thinking it an ‘odd’ coincidence that Mark was due to star in a play just days later (The Accidental Death of an Anarchist) which featured a man who falls suspiciously to his death from a police window. It is stated by witnesses that Mark was very excited about this play, turned up at the flat with the promotional poster in his hand and was waving it under Pete Doherty’s nose. The poster depicts a man falling head first from a balcony railing. I think he was getting in Pete’s face about this play, maybe pushing him to attend the opening and when Pete’s ‘security’ henchmen are beckoned to remove him from the premises (as witnesses and they themselves attest to) they rough him up and do something along the lines of ‘you wanna star in a play where someone falls to their death…here you go mate’ and throw him from the balcony. The poster and play content he was pushing Pete about ‘inspired’ them to teach him a lesson in such a manner. If i was feeling really crazy i might even suggest Mark was loosely inspired by events that had occurred at the flat years earlier when Curriffe (Sp?) fell to his death from the roof after also associating with the group who frequented the flat.

I think you were on the right lines until you got to the bit about Pete’s ‘henchmen’ throwing him over the balcony to enact the storyline of his play. That sounds farcical. I think what’s more like is there was a drunken grapple between the ‘henchmen’ and Blanco as they ejected him. Blanco himself was reported to be very drunk that night. He was very tall as well, so less protected by a railing than a shorter person. Whether he was pushed or it was an accident or he staggered over it, I can’t imagine we’ll ever find out, sadly for his mum, but I can’t imagine he was thrown over the balcony in some deliberate execution. They were all pissed up, probably grappling, pushing & shoving, and an accident happened. Might potentially be a manslaughter if it could ever be pinpointed exactly what happened, but as I say - very unlikely now.

Sheila is a very strong woman. Hoping this family receives justice.
@Roserytemptation Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure it is “obvious” that they were corrupt - incompetence seems more likely. To claim they’re corrupt means someone has paid them off. Who? Pete? He was a heroin addict so I think the chances of him having a bunch of money lying around is unlikely. Okay, probably his management team/record label then? Nope, they were under Rough Trade Records at the time, a very small independent label. It’s unlikely they would have enough money to influence the police. Is the whole thing suspicious? Absolutely is it. But I don’t see any evidence to indicate the police were corrupted. This sort of shoddy investigating is not uncommon with the Met. You only hear about this one because Shiela is so outspoken about it. I haven’t seen this documentary yet, but I’m going to assume they missed out that at the time Mark was dating a 17 year old drug addict (who turned 18 that day) and who has defended Pete, was incredibly drunk and picking fights with people all night. Does that excuse his death? Of course not, but it does paint a different picture to the one I suspect this documentary showed. Unfortunately for Shiela, she will never know what happened. Pete Doherty is a very troubled individual as were a lot of those he hung around with - Including Mark. I have no doubt that someone murdered him, but the public trying to play Cluedo with it doesn’t help anyone. I think it's a big contradiction that Sheila Blanco judges Peter on the one hand but at the same time is using his famous name in her own interest. This film is painting a one-sided picture and condemns Peter of just being a messed up drug addict while Mark is described as a generous genius. If her son would have been popular she wouldn't have needed to pull Peters name threw the dirt which had been done enough. She has every right to be upset and that Peter failed his obligation to stand the ground puts a bad very light on him for sure. But to point the index finger on him now and to say after sixteen years of failed investigation "he wasn't some Saint." Is that objective? Is that right? Her anger and frustration is understandable only in this case she is blaming the wrong person.

Hazarding a best guess at what happened, based on everything known. Mark turned up at this party, promoting his new play, knowing Pete was there and trying to get some sort of endorsement from him. He was very drunk by all accounts, making a nuisance of himself. The flat owner and Pete’s minder ejected him. They were all pissed up and and in an ensuing struggle in the stairwell Mark has somehow gone over the balcony. I can’t imagine it was a deliberate murder - most likely the result of drunk grappling, pushing and shoving.the exact circumstances of how he went over - a shove, a stumble, a stagger, will never be known. Presumably someone called an ambulance, and Pete, not wanting the attention of the police due to his drug situation, or the media, legged it. There’s no law against that, an ambulance had been called, he’s intoxicated and not medically trained, other people are with Mark. I get why Marks mum would want to use Pete’s name to get her search for justice some traction in the media, but just because he’s famous and was at the party doesn’t mean he saw or knows or was involved in what happened to Mark, and he shouldn’t be tarnished with guilt by association. Panicked or not, he (and they) should, at the very least, have remained until the police arrived to take their statements. @@oldmanofoy4286 This video isn't all the evidence though. have you seen the news night program about this? It shows the full CCTV footage of Blanco outside the building and then goes back inside and is over the rail all in less than a minute. Then everyone else at the party doesn't come out for like 12 minutes after that. Not exactly a fast get away. The news night also program goes through the sequence of events of the girl that found Mark outside, they called emergency services and she told Pete to leave and so forth. Holding court in social media does not result in an accusation. The police watched the full CCTV and it's all the evidence needed cause it's just not possible for foul play to occur in less than a minute. Here's the news night program kzbin.info/www/bejne/i56vfJyujd18jqM

@Ukraineaissance2014 Жыл бұрын
Having had experience with this sort of thing, they dont investigate the dealer who sold stuff to OD deaths. Theres just no evidence usually, certainly not enough for the CPS to prosecute, then what crime would you charge them with? Addicts and dealers know this.
@belleh.2955 Жыл бұрын
No he did not overdose. This documentary leaves out the full CCTV. Mark walks out the front door of the building and walks back in and is over the communal stairwell rail in 57 seconds from walking into the communal front door. but see how easy it was for you to make a false accusation without knowing the full evidence? That's what this documentary was designed to do an all of you in the comments ate it up. The reason there are no murder charges is cause the full CCTV footage actually shows there's no murder. That's all the evidence that's needed. The end. Case closed.

There is a class that is considered fully human, and the the rest are not. Many have been fooled into believing it's a white-black, male-female, straight-gay, etc. kinda thing. It's not. It's just money and connections. In these kinds of cases the first thing police assess is "does this person matter?". Most people don't. If it's a VIP or VIP-adjacent person the investigation is full and thorough.

it's clear in the CCTV footage. Pete is on the other side of the road. He bends over, something falls out of his pocket, he picks it up. Why would he take Mark's phone? If that were true it would ping cell phone towers wherever Pete went next. The girl that found Mark first did call 999. Dodgy behavior is what happens at crack dens when you're high and have drugs on you. No one in that condition would stay and talk to police.
