I don't get the hate. The Libertines/Babyshambles are decent bands with good tunes and great lyrics. People are so harsh like they're trying to feel better about themselves by shitting on him, as if they had never partying in their life. The guy survived the stardom, made solid albums, is a much better lyricist than his peers, and his effortless style was flat out copied by others while enjoying the company of the most sought-after model of his time i mean it's not a bad legacy for a "talentless junkie" Isn't that the essence of a real rock star?

Your whole description of what happened to Marc Blanco is incorrect. You say that he fell from Petes balcony at one of Petes parties. This was a party at the flat of Paul Roundhill that Pete just happened to attend. You also say that Pete and everyone at the party saw Marc fall and ran away without calling anyone. That’s not true, people at the party called the emergency services and stayed. Pete did run off when he saw the body because he had a load of drugs on him and the police were on their way, which is pretty messed up but it’s not exactly murder.
@KrysissКүн бұрын
I think I got mislead by news articles but that's my fault there. I don't think he murdered anyone too tho.

No, what I’ve said is a fact. The party took place at Paul Roundhill’s flat - that’s verified by multiple sources and in official reports. So is the fact that it was people at the party who called the emergency services.

@@KrysissPete is an unreliable narrator. He never claimed they had an affair until after she died and he sold his story to the press. I know his son Harry Sparro, an upcoming underground thai hip-hop artist. There's so much nepotism around it's crazy, he's been getting the push this year by opening for his dad. His music is shite though I must admit. The reason Pete comes through Thailand a lot is probably because of his ties with various masonic lodges or in other words, he fell off hard.

This fella and winehouse kind of glorified H to a generation. I know plenty of kids that thought it was cool, because of these guys. One of them is gone now, too. Silkroad, very strong caper. Blue Boy. Whether you want to say that was the media's portrayal, or not, that's up to the individual really. I was hoping we'd get into the meat and potatoes- talk about how this privileged little ponce got away with stuff that'd get the working class people he stole his music and aesthetic from banged up. Instead I just watched yet another fawning documentary about how this derivative embarassment of a band were a big deal because... You know, they weren't as musically important as other bands, their fashion was all derivative, but idk- Pete Doherty's attempts to coopt working class identity were just recognised as the tourism it was and it didn't effect how other middle-class people perceive him or respect him. So that's a big deal I guess? It's not like he's the first guy to go "slumming it" when he feels like it and then go back to the safety and comfort of his middle-class peers when things get too real without sacrificing any social capital, but he did atleast prove that you could do it all on camera and people will still talk out both sides of their mouths and launder your reputation when you need it. The kind of people that admire Pete Doherty are dangerously privileged and entitled individuals- if you were alive in Britain during the 2000s when these people were all over the shop then you know that these middle-class kids act worse than animals in working class areas because that's what they think we're like or they just don't care because it's not their neighbourhood and they don't have to deal with the consequences. I don't have any respect for thieving little gobshites repaying all they owe to working class brits with imitation that reeks of disrespect and resembles mockery by throwing up all over the place, trashing working class neighbourhoods and coercing women into bed with them.
