I really love how Magneto starts as generally annoyed at Tetsuo’s Attitude but after seeing the abomination he became and the cries for help Tetsuo had really made Magneto feel sad and eventually he put Tetsuo out of his misery This is easily the saddest ending with Tanjiro vs Jonathan Joestar being the first one

I actually did know about the Malcolm X and Dr. MLK parallels to Professor X and Magneto prior to this in a comic documentary called "Superheroes Decoded" a great documentary and even narrated by Batman himself Kevin Conroy. I highly recommend it

While I believe that Professor X and Magneto can be compared to MLK and Malcom X I don’t think they were truly created to be at least in magneto’s case. Magneto in his early appearances by Stan Lee was a blatant villain with no redeeming qualities it was Chris Clairemont that redefined the character as we now know him as.

@@hellkaiser64 there are many adaptation of both Hercules and Sun Wukong like for Hercules there are multiple movies like the Disney Movies, some documentary of Greek mythologies and even the comic adaption. For Sun Wukong there is the iconic Journey to the West 1980's TV shows, some movies and many more. So they have plenty of footage to use for both of them.

I never cared about politics being put in comics. The only issue I have been having recently is when comics force you to pick a side and shame you for picking another side. Prof X vs Magneto is a "GOOD" example of placing politics in media because even if Magneto is portrayed as the bad guy, Magneto's backstory and character still makes his cause sympathetic enough to either side with him or follow his mindset clearly. Not every bad guy and their ideologies should be treated like Red Skull. I can't say the same for the newer Static Shock comics I've read or some other Marvel or DC stories like I Am Not Starfire or the way they handled Static's BLM arc.

Yeah, modern comic books are very different from how the X-men were created. They are very much focused on intentionally casting one ideology or another in a negative light without being self-critical and reflective like many of the earlier comic book stories are. It was about cleverly addressing social issues while providing entertainment, not shoving it down your throat.

Hm, the current Krakoa era of the X-Men comics handles that pretty well I think. It may not be at the very top of stories, but it does a good job of painting a nuanced picture. On the one hand you understand the desire of Mutants to create their own independent safe haven where they aren't a wrong show of power away from some bigoted thugs beating them to a pulp in the streets, or a fanatic group pursuing them because they see them as an affront to nature. But on the other hand you have all the issues that come with running a country - seclusion vs the dangers outside, diplomacy vs a show of force, transparency vs security... A Mutant nation has its perks, but it also draws all the attention to a single point and paints a target on their back. Plenty of characters have different takes and conflicts in that, pretty much all of them with an understandable reasoning behind it.

I love Magnetos powers and his character. Being able to control metal, sounds so simplistic and is typically a very straight forward type of power. But his intelligence, and creativity with his powers expanded his capabilities to a point where he could combat insane things. I'm pretty sure there's a storyline where magneto wields Thors hammer. I don't believe he is able to actually use its full power, I haven't read it in a long time. But he used his control over magnetic fields to be able to wield it, which in my mind is quite cool and impressive considering he used a science based ability (Magnetism) to control a magic weapon wielded by a God.

Probably the Ultimate comic line where there is apparently no magic "user must be worthy" incantation on Thor's hammer, it seems to just be really heavy, so Magneto just used his powers to overcome the sheer weight of it. Which was probably near the comic lines end where the creators said "screw it" and just started gruesomely killing off a lot of characters. Magneto has Thor's hammer during Ultimatum, the event ending the Ultimate universe, where I believe he is either tricked by Doom or gets angry over Quicksilver and/or Scarlet Witch dying, so he tilts Earth's axis/rotation by messing with Earth's magnetic poles resulting in him killing a vast majority of Earth's population and off-panel killing a bunch of other Marvel characters since places on the coast like New York are hit by massive floods as the oceans rise. Eventually leading to what little is left of the X-Men attacking with Magneto apparently finally killing Wolverine until Cyclops has had enough who just optic blasts Magneto's head off.

This battle did a great job with both characters at the end. In the back of Tetsuo's chaotic mind and the rapid mutation of his body he cried out for a savior, and Magneto answered putting an end to the suffering of this "poor child" as put it, in able to control his own mutation, and in the end Tetsuo thanked him for it and Magneto's Sympathetic "You're welcome"

I don't care if politics are added into a show, it bothers me when you literally make someone a different race just to try to pull in other viewers instead of prioritizing the story and ideals that attracted people to them in the first place. There a literally hundreds of characters of different ethnicities and colors that come together in comics where you wouldn't expect to see them. So if marvel cared about genuine representation they would pull from these stories. They've done that recently with obscure guys like Moon Knight and that was great.

i would say that the x-men inspiration is an entirely different situation from race-changing characters because while both may be political/tied to politics that is mainly were the connection ends as the former is taking existing ideas, people, concepts and situations, to create something new using said things as references thus allowing a perspective to be used in a forgen setting to get an idea or concept across while the later has been generally used to appease an audience that doesnt come out for the product. it is superficial and the change often provides little to nothing of substance beyond robbing fans of something they'd actually enjoy and when i say that i mean that the race change is more often than not the final(-ish) results of problems with the writers as if those problems didnt exist there'd be no problems as the race-bent characters would at least be written well

When the writers take out a physics text book, or look into modern quantum mechanics it becomes clear that at the Omega level a power like Magnekinesis is basically the power of a GOD over almost everything in the electromagnetic interactive parts of the universe *AKA the roughl5-15 percent we can see, but it is the part WE live in and are PART of so...God*. So you'd basically need "dark matter" to not be in some way affected by Magneto's power. So is it any wander the Fox movies nerfed him considerably by changing his powers from Magnekinesis to Ferrokinesis *the ability to move and manipulate ferris metals*, it can be passed off as magnetism until you realize its not affecting electronics or anything else magnetism should affect. Its sort of like papyrikinesis or silicakinesis (paper control and sand/glass control) it feels like it should be extended to other materials but due to some metaphysical element is down to something weirdly specific...(although I do have yet to see anyone make a character with Necro-Florakinesis *control over all dead plant matter* there is also something else death battle forgot to mention. Magneto can manipulate his own atoms, so you can't really destroy his organs, he can pretty much regenerate if he needs to, and has from even being vaporized (sort of).

The problem isn't having politics in cartoons, the real problem is being lectured about shit that everyone on earth has long since figured out (prejudism for example) while also being forced to pick a side. With one side being fair and rational, and the other getting you labeled as a homophobic Nazi. If you're going to talk about politics, it should be done like South Park (Or in this case, more accurately, Professor X & Magneto): showing the good points and bad points of both sides. Not pointing fingers and calling names. And changing white characters into black characters is also not the problem, the problem *there* is people pitching a fit when the same is done to black characters by changing them into any other race, not just white. If they did that to someone like Black Panther and turned him into Chinese, all of a sudden it goes from "what difference does it make what their skin color is?" to a PSA about black erasure. Because, in truth, it *DOESN'T* matter what their skin color is, but what *DOES* matter is the deeper meaning and symbolism behind the choice, like how DC chose to make Clark Kent a black man for one comic series instead of doing a series about Calvin Ellis.

It's one thing to be inspired by real world events and historical figures, but that has nothing to do with race-bending the original source material in movies just for the sake of meeting the status quo with what they say is "needed diversity and representation". If they needed representation, then put a character that already fit the role as they were made originally for. I love both Mewtwo and Cell but Mewtwo more I wouldn't want a stomp fight against neither of them. I think Mewtwo vs Tetsuo should have happened death battle and other versus channels tend to use certain characters one time or two times in rare moments so having a interesting and great matchup is important while a stomp could just be a 1 minute melee or DBX just to get it over with. I hope Mewtwo makes a comeback because If Shadow can come back 2 times why can't Mewtwo come back. ^_^

To be honest that’s not actually true it’s a common misconception. Not to say that Magneto can’t be compared to Malcom X but he wasn’t intended to be at least not originally. In his original run in the X men Magneto was typical bad guy who had no redeeming qualities. It was Chris Clairemont that redefined Magneto as the character we know and love.
