Trust me, the Daleks are easily one of the most terrifying creatures in all of fiction. Imagine a being stripped of all emotion, compassion, and feelings and replaced with pure, burning, unyielding, DOMINATING hatred for anything thing that isn't REMOTELY a full-blooded Dalek. And then give them lasers that can instantly kill any organic being and invisible shields that can burn through all types of physical projectile. You can't even permanently beat them because they will always, somehow, return in droves, usually stronger than before. Despite their goofy appearance, they are practically a force of nature. When you hear that raspy, robotic catchphrase of theirs, "EXTERMINATE," you immediately know you are utterly and totally F*CKED.

That, and the rules of Death Battle have been fairly consistent. Which fighter would beat which, more often than not, at the best of their ability. Rick has the weapons and knowledge that could kill the Doctor, but only if he got the chance to use them. He never raised his voice. That was the worst thing. The fury of the Time Lord. And then we discovered why. Why this Doctor who had fought with gods and demons, why he’d run away from us and hidden. He was being kind. He wrapped my father in unbreakable chains, forged in the heart of a dwarf star. He tricked my mother into the event horizon of a collapsing galaxy, to be imprisoned there forever. He still visits my sister- He trapped her inside a mirror. Every mirror. As for me, I was suspended in time. And the Doctor put me to work standing over the fields of England, as their protector. We wanted to live forever. So the Doctor made sure that we did. Moral of the story, don’t mess with the doctor

The best season for Doctor who if you want to watch is 2005 reboot of the series, which introduces the Ninth Doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston. Doctor Who is a show for general audiences. Not necessarily FOR Kids, but kids can still enjoy it. I think the best comparison you can make is Star Trek, like OG Star Trek. The effects and costumes were super cheesy because the it’s a Sci Fi Show operating on a TV show budget, which historically means “Not a lot of Money”. But it still has a charm to the cheesiness, kinda like Star Trek.

1. Doctor Who is more on the family friendly side, but its no stranger to dipping its toes in some straight up sci-fi horror. In fact, "Blink" and "Midnight" are easily some of the best episodes of the entire franchise , certainly the Tennant era, that are *perfect* for introducing people to Doctor Who as a whole. 2. The Doctor beating Rick with his own attack instead of ever hurting him himself is perfectly in character

When Doctor Who started in the 60s, it was made more for kids. The morden Doctor Who series from 2005 onwards, which can be watched without watching previous episodes, I feel is for everyone while also having themes that's more for teens and adults. There are some genuinely scary and heartfelt thoughtful episodes. There's a two part episode that you could watch with just the context you know, and you might like it. It's episodes 8 and 9 of season 4. It's what I would recommend to someone who never saw Doctor Who.

Doctor Who is primarily aimed at family audiences. It had a couple of spinoffs: The Sarah Jane Adventures, which was aimed toward a younger/teen audience, and Torchwood, which was aimed at an adult audience. The Series 4 finale serves as a crossover between these three shows. As for recommendations, a few suggestions I'd make are "The Daleks" (1963, 7 episodes), "The Three Doctors" (1972-1973, 4 episodes), "Genesis of the Daleks" (1975, 6 episodes), and "The Five Doctors" (1983, 1 feature-length special; I recommend the Special Edition); "The Daleks" is about 3 hours but recently they released a colorized version that's only about 70 minutes - pretty decent, good music choices, though personally I think the editing is a bit choppy in places. As for New Who, which started in 2005, personally, I enjoyed Series 1-6, (most of) Part 2 of Series 7, "The Night of the Doctor" and "The Day of the Doctor" (2013).

Very good suggestions! And I love that youre shilling classic who specifically, however im not so sure im with you on recommending "The 5 Doctors". For me its very much a "for the fans" type story (for obvious reasons - anniversary and all that) and without the nostalgia feeling of seeing old familiar faces the story itself is not the cleanest. Its has to bend to include everyone and thus is rather unfocused imo. Perhaps thats just me though.

I'd suggest for new fans to just start with 9 (new who series 1) and then go up to this day and maybe after check out classic stuff. I'd say that the Sja audience is kids, torchwood is teen/young adult/adult and dr who is for everyone (saying it's a family show damages public/the outsiders perception as in their mind a family show could just be the equivalent to a kids show so it's better to say it can be suited for everyone but at points can go in directions that maybe the youngest of kids might not wanna see until a bit older, also from that it can be stated that dr who's show structureis that it can reinvent itself and go into various new interesting directions and can explore many genres)

@@Daelyas Yeah, if you hadn't seen "The Three Doctors" beforehand you might not get the same experience - it's like a sequel where you need to have watched the first one to really understand it. And from what I remember "The Five Doctors" didn't have much in the way of intertwining plotlines. I've also seen some Patrick Troughton serials but it was so long ago since I've seen them I can't remember enough to really recommend them, even though he's my second-favourite Doctor. The only thing I can really remember is the make-do-and-mend design of the Mondasian Cybermen.

If you're going to get into the new Doctor Who stuff, start with the reboot from 2005 staring Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth incarnation of The Doctor. With episode one, “Rose”. The Ninth Doctor was unfortunately only around for one season, but he was good and eccentric and he paved the way for the the most beloved version of the Doctor played by David Tennant. (No offense to classic 'whovians' who probably still favor Tom Baker as the best from the old series.)

Doctor who is watchable for kids but it takes itself seriously. It might be free for all ages but when you are an adult watching it you truly understand the stuff that are happening...

Just for context on English slang. Bloke is often used to refer to people (mostly men) who are not in the conversation e.g. "That Ryan's a strange bloke, ain't he?". The word Mate is often used when talking to the person directly e.g. "Alright mate?" But these are general uses of the words. People tend to mix and match to whatever suits the conversation.

"He never raised his voice. That was the worst thing. The fury of the Time Lord. And then we discovered why. Why this Doctor, who'd fought with Gods and Demons, why he'd run away from us, and hidden..... ......he was being kind.... He wrapped my father in unbreakable chains, forged in the heart of a dwarf star. He tricked my mother into the event horizon of a collapsing galaxy. To be imprisoned there...forever. He still visits my sister, once a year, every year. I wonder if one day he might forgive her, but there she is. Can you see her? He trapped her inside a mirror. Every mirror. If ever you look at your reflection, and see something move behind you, just for a second. That's her. That's always her. As for me I was suspended in time. And the Doctor put me to work, standing over the fields of England as their protector. We wanted to live forever. So the Doctor made sure that we did." Family of blood, episode, I guess, called "Human instinct" or something like this. One of the best stories of New Doctor Who.

Shooting The Doctor while regenerating is a hopeless attempt; that regeneration energy he's blasting out of every part of his body will heal anything short of a nuke, and even then he wasn't 100% sure that would do the job, but did not care to test it.

The reason why some of the CGI and special effects look kind of goofy is because it’s been around since 1963 and early 2000’s where they started to try and improve

Honestly people like the Doctor are *why the Ricks made the finite curve.* It literally states in the show, outside of the limited slice of the multiverse the show takes place in, *there are people smarter, stronger than Rick.*

Yoo, I GOTCHU two! Let me take you back in time for a second to highschool and you have friends who are into Doctor Who and want you to get into it. But you're a weirdo and you don't like even remote spoilers, so you have your friends find you a really good episode that is spoiler-free. One of the best places to dip your toes in when it comes to Doctor Who, and I'm 100% bias cause this was my test episode, but watch the episode "Midnight" first. It's 100% spoiler free and doesn't tie into anything directly. If you get into the vibe of that episode, definitely give Doctor Who a shot!

I have a theory about time travel that might be out there. Since Time Travel can't possibly exist in real life because it would be literally breaking one of the fundamental laws of reality it will always just be a theory. However I believe that what we think of as "changing the past" is actually a causality loop created by time travel itself. I.E fate. What is meant to happen always will happen. An infinite loop of the same mistakes being made. Also known as a fixed point. What we would experience if such a thing existed would be the other side of how we tried to change something but, ended up reliving an event that already happened. Like how the characters of Lost relived the events that created their situation in the present and then realised that they were the reason everything fell apart. They weren't changing anything. They were living out every moment how it originally happened without knowing it. It's all a bunch of nonsense but, it's still fun to think about.
