Trust me, the Daleks are easily one of the most terrifying creatures in all of fiction. Imagine a being stripped of all emotion, compassion, and feelings and replaced with pure, burning, unyielding, DOMINATING hatred for anything thing that isn't REMOTELY a full-blooded Dalek. And then give them lasers that can instantly kill any organic being and invisible shields that can burn through all types of physical projectile. You can't even permanently beat them because they will always, somehow, return in droves, usually stronger than before. Despite their goofy appearance, they are practically a force of nature. When you hear that raspy, robotic catchphrase of theirs, "EXTERMINATE," you immediately know you are utterly and totally F*CKED.

Doctor Who is primarily aimed at family audiences. It had a couple of spinoffs: The Sarah Jane Adventures, which was aimed toward a younger/teen audience, and Torchwood, which was aimed at an adult audience. The Series 4 finale serves as a crossover between these three shows. As for recommendations, a few suggestions I'd make are "The Daleks" (1963, 7 episodes), "The Three Doctors" (1972-1973, 4 episodes), "Genesis of the Daleks" (1975, 6 episodes), and "The Five Doctors" (1983, 1 feature-length special; I recommend the Special Edition); "The Daleks" is about 3 hours but recently they released a colorized version that's only about 70 minutes - pretty decent, good music choices, though personally I think the editing is a bit choppy in places. As for New Who, which started in 2005, personally, I enjoyed Series 1-6, (most of) Part 2 of Series 7, "The Night of the Doctor" and "The Day of the Doctor" (2013).

Very good suggestions! And I love that youre shilling classic who specifically, however im not so sure im with you on recommending "The 5 Doctors". For me its very much a "for the fans" type story (for obvious reasons - anniversary and all that) and without the nostalgia feeling of seeing old familiar faces the story itself is not the cleanest. Its has to bend to include everyone and thus is rather unfocused imo. Perhaps thats just me though.

I'd suggest for new fans to just start with 9 (new who series 1) and then go up to this day and maybe after check out classic stuff. I'd say that the Sja audience is kids, torchwood is teen/young adult/adult and dr who is for everyone (saying it's a family show damages public/the outsiders perception as in their mind a family show could just be the equivalent to a kids show so it's better to say it can be suited for everyone but at points can go in directions that maybe the youngest of kids might not wanna see until a bit older, also from that it can be stated that dr who's show structureis that it can reinvent itself and go into various new interesting directions and can explore many genres)

I love this Death Battle! I got into the Doctor Who series in high school! In my personal opinion, the series isn't the same like it was before, however it was incredible. This was an unexpected but welcome Death Battle! 🙏🏽💪

Start with the revival of 2005. And if you like later you can try to see the classic ones.

Doctor Who is like a british show (one of the longest of all time actually worldwide), thats sci-fi heavy and involves a "Doctor" thats a time traveller essentially, and generally he every now and then "regenerates" during a climactic episode and essentially comes back as a new actor so that theres a new person playing them every now and themn

Just for context on English slang. Bloke is often used to refer to people (mostly men) who are not in the conversation e.g. "That Ryan's a strange bloke, ain't he?". The word Mate is often used when talking to the person directly e.g. "Alright mate?" But these are general uses of the words. People tend to mix and match to whatever suits the conversation.

Yoo, I GOTCHU two! Let me take you back in time for a second to highschool and you have friends who are into Doctor Who and want you to get into it. But you're a weirdo and you don't like even remote spoilers, so you have your friends find you a really good episode that is spoiler-free. One of the best places to dip your toes in when it comes to Doctor Who, and I'm 100% bias cause this was my test episode, but watch the episode "Midnight" first. It's 100% spoiler free and doesn't tie into anything directly. If you get into the vibe of that episode, definitely give Doctor Who a shot!

Commander Strax: Colonel Manton, you will give the order for your men to withdraw. The Doctor: No. Colonel Manton, I want you to tell your men to run away. Colonel Manton: You what? The Doctor: Those words. "Run away." I want you to be famous for those exact words. [increasingly angry] I want people to call you "Colonel Run Away." I want children laughing outside your door because they've found the house of Colonel Run Away, and when people come to you and ask if trying to get to me through [shouting] THE PEOPLE I LOVE... [calmer] is in any way a good idea... I want you to tell them your name. [pause] Oh, look, I'm angry. That's new. I'm really not sure what's going to happen now. Madame Kovarian: The anger of a good man is not a problem. Good men... have too many rules. The Doctor: Good men don't need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many.

You should look up a few clips to demonstrate the doctor's fury. Look up "the time lord's fury" and "doctor who basically run."

Watch any of the weeping angel parts and you tell me if the show dr.who is for kids or not lol dr.who is the reason a lot scary monsters in horror games exist like the SCP “pinut” or the wobbly head creature from fatal company. Anything that’s a “will not move or kill you if you keep looking at it” we’re all made thanks to the weeping angels from dr.who. They were terrifying 😅

Shooting The Doctor while regenerating is a hopeless attempt; that regeneration energy he's blasting out of every part of his body will heal anything short of a nuke, and even then he wasn't 100% sure that would do the job, but did not care to test it.

The reason why some of the CGI and special effects look kind of goofy is because it’s been around since 1963 and early 2000’s where they started to try and improve

The moment he said "I'm the Doctor" I knew Rick was screwed. Rick is dangerous, but the Doctor... the Doctor was successfully forced an entire race of sociopathic cyborgs to relearn the concept of fear *specifically for him.*

Doctor Who they had cartoons back in the early seventies of Doctor Who also Doctor Who was created in 1963 it was meant to be for teenagers kids and adults in Great Britain

Dr Who is for adults more than kids. In regards to the designs you need to remember that Dr. Who first came out in 1963 and the character designs have for the most part either stayed exactly the same or just slight differences. So a 1963 Dalek looks the same as a 2024 Dalek.

Its really made for everyone generational speaking givien how old it is and what the regeneration allows for it. Basically a way for it to try new things every few years while allowing for anyone that worked on it to ether move on, die, etc. Want early education that's the first doctor for you. Want more earth based stories, that's the beginning third doctor for you. Want mystery and intrigue in a character. Give 7 or some 4th doctor stories a go. Want melodrama give the 9th through 12th era a stop by.
