Little fun fact about this death battle the animator Luis Cruise (long time death battle animator) decided to do this entire animation drunk, and the next episode after gojo vs makima is also entirely done by Luis Cruise again. I suggest next Friday you watch that episode first then go back and watch gojo vs makima.

I highly recommend watching Samurai Jack at some point. It was created by Genndy Tartakovsky, who also created/directed other Cartoon Network classics such as Dextor’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, and Sym-Bionic Titan.

The death battle was the most intense one between people’s childhood cartoon v young teen adult swim cartoon. So glad to witness my favorite character won the battle 😄 Just a heads up for the new death battle. It might show some more tension between a couple of OP characters in the anime/Manga community. Also it might be some laughs till the ball drops

Afro Samurai is a brilliant story of revenge, PTSD and dealing with your own inner demons. + Amazing animation, not sure but i think the animations are made of the same people wo animated Hellsing Ultimate OVA. Which were ahead of its time.

I like to think of this death battle as, Phil LaMarr versus Samuel Jackson, Phil LaMarr is the voice of samurai Jack and Sam Jackson, he's the voice of Afro samurai. Here's a fact about Afro Samurai and samurai Jack, they're not samurai, they're both Ronin, able to be a samurai, you have to work for a master, and both work for no one, so they're both Ronin.

Both Characters are absolute polar opposites.For Jack he actually wanted to get revenge on Aku but fortunately his Dad who was still alive immediately slapped his hand and reprimanded him by saying Revenge is not what he should be aiming for.For Afro unfortunately he was just too Revenge obssessed Swordmaster hid the fact that he was the No.2 Headband owner because he wanted Afro to experience a normal and happy life which Afro felt like he lost when his Father was killed.. He did enjoy his life being trained by Swordmaster and had friends and even managed to get a girlfriend but when Sword master revealed abt the Band instead of thinking about how peaceful his time being trained by swordmaster he opted revenge instead. Mind you, in the Manga Afro is even more Ruthless then in the Anime 1 time he took a wheelchair bound woman whose brother he killed as hostage against a bunch of angry villagers.In the end He got his revenge but all his friends and even his lover was killed. Yet he was smiling. Worth noting that Jack kept on helping others but in the end when he finally defeated Aku all his friends were erased since Aku no longer existed and even his lover vanished well that was until the Last Samurai Jack game was released the creators declared the VG ending as Canon where both Jack and Ashi go to be together.
