16: Akuma vs Shao Khan (Its looks really bad and the writings pretty terrible) 15: Blake vs Mikasa ("Are those two sets of ears? She must have 4 times the hearing.") 14: Shadow vs Ryuko (Mischaracterized both combatants and called them edgelords when the whole reason why they're so similar is because they look like edgelords but really arent 13: Doctor Doom vs Lex Luthor (It was really boring, but at least they were both IN CHARACTER) 12: Machoman vs Kool-aid man (suffers from focusing on Boomsticks dad) 11: Korra vs Storm (Actually a pretty good episode but it suffers from a really obvious matchup) 10: Batman vs Ironman (I dont actually have anything bad to say about this episode, but I find it hilarious that Batmans win ratio is now 1:3) 9: Star vs Steven (Really fun fight and excellent track, Stevens analysis failed to capture me. Even as a fan of his character) 8: Madara vs Aizen (Really great episode actually though the fight has a lot of jank that is way too noticeable) 7: Yoda vs King Mickey (objectively one of the best episodes this season, but the one's after either did one thing better for me or I have a personal connection to) 6: Po vs Iron Fist (Kung Fu Panda is my 2nd favorite dreamworks movie and to see Po here and represented really well with a good fight animation really hit it home for me. So bias) 5: Geese vs Heihachi (The way theyre both characterized, how the fight looks, how they both take a breather when they're tired, how Heihachi only speaks Japanese yet Geese can still understand him in true Tekken fashion and that godlike track? 10/10 don't @ me) 4: Link vs Cloud (So close to the top three. This fight managed to both keep Links superior mind and strategy and Clouds overwhelming power. Also the track is in my top three favorites this season. 3: Goku Black vs Reverse Flash (The fight is soo good that it outways the negatives of how short Goku Black's analysis was. I also love this track as well. 2: Dio vs Alucard (I honestly used to hate this matchup, but this episode is so good that any episode after it that has either character just won't be the same for me. Also the track name was too clever. "Hell over Hevean"? 10/10) 1: Saitama vs Popeye (If I went into detail Id be here all day. Just know that it both made me more interested in One Punch Man and reinvigorated my love for Popeye! 11/10)

Shadow and Ryuko have a lot more in common. There's a reason the joke "If I wanted to watch Kill la Kill, I'd play Sonic Adventure 2" exists. But yeah, nice ranking although I do disagree with some of the placements.

So if i had to rank every episode of Death Battle so far in Season 8 it would be as follows: Yoda vs King Mickey - 10/10 (Amazing season opener with both fighters looking stunning and loved how Yoda went dying) Shadow vs Ryuko - 7/10 (Mismatch but at least the fight was great) Lex Luthor vs Doctor Doom - 9/10 (Not much to say but i loved it) Heihachi vs Geese - 10/10 (an excellent blend of 2d and 3d fused together to make one of the best fights in the whole season) Blake vs Mikasa - 3/10 (The Bane vs Venom of Season 8, least it looked alright) Po vs Iron Fist - 10/10 (Perfection) Steven Universe vs Star Butterfly - 6/10 (Great research and animation, but the fight left something to be desired) Link vs Cloud - 6/10 (An episode w/amazing animation held back by questionable research) Batman vs Ironman - 8/10 (Great fight, and glad it showed the limitations of Batman's prep time) Goku Black vs Reverse Flash - 9.5/10 (More of a Goku Black fan but man they made both Reverse Flash abd GB look great) Macho Man vs Kool-Aid Man - 9.5/10 (As an anniversary episode it hit all the right notes and i did like the story aspect of the episode) Dio Vs Alucard - 10/10 (Love how the animation went all out and they struck a perfect balance in the fight) Akuma vs Shao Khun - 4/10 (Fight is a improvement over Batgirl vs Spider-Gwen, but that's it) Korra vs Storm - 7/10 (One-sided fight but damn at least they gave Korra respect and made it look like she had a chance) Madara vs Aizen - 8/10 (Great fight and animation with the exception of a few frames and post analysis) Popeye vs Saitama - 10/10 (Easily the best finale DB has done in a long time with everything being perfect about it, i didn't mind the 3D Popeye model by the way)

What do you mean by questionable research in the Link vs Cloud fight?

@@j.a.n.u4483 They state how Link can react to attacks at 1/10 the speed of light just because he can avoid the lasers from a Beamos, however it's never been stated that these lasers are beams of light. With Cloud on the other hand there's the logic of him scaling to Bahamut Fury who can travel 1200x the speed of light between planets, but yet Cloud has never shown this kind of speed outside of his battle with the dragon. As for Cloud;s durability... well i can agree with it but not agree with it at the same time. With all the hits he can tank from Sephiroth's attacks i can agree with until Supernova comes into play. With how they scaled both characters in terms of speed and durability it really does make you question the outcome and whether they got it right or not. This has always been a problem that Death Battle has had when they try to determine someone's speed and they just mash speed and agility together when they're not the same stats. Same goes for scaling too. For me it seems like Link scaling to Majora in terms of durability would make more sense, but for Cloud surviving Sephiroth's Supernova is a bit debatable cause it feels like there's a bunch of outliers that are not being taken into account with Supernova itself.

Heichai Vs Geese (Boomstick dad jokes 👎, Good action, fight comedy and absolute cold, or should I say warm, death) 8.5/10 6.Po Vs Iron Fist (I love how they bounce off each other and pretty funny moments but Po seems very cheery after killing someone) 9/10 5. Link Vs Cloud (Great action, stellar shot with the lighting and death is fantastic but the breaking pots segment broke the pacing and Cloud fell on the rocks for to long) 9/10 4. Yoda Vs King Mickey ( Great analysis, stellar fight visuals and models, great banter and clashing ideals at the end) 10/10 3. Dio Vs Alucard (Great visuals, cool army fight, amazing backing track and REEEEEEE!) 10/10 2. Reverse Flash Vs Goku Black (I love them being so mean to each other, cool use of time travel, the one shot that has been meme’d to death and the best death ever) 10/10 1. Saitama Vs Popeye (Great visuals, Popeye not being able to read Kanji, Spinach punch, Popeye’s 3D models and the moon scene make this my favorite episode of DB ever) 10/10

16: Akuma vs Shao Kahn (The animation was kind of lazy, the analysis felt off, and the death felt kind of censored. No Akuma head crush for Shao Kahn? Seriously? 3/10) 15: Blake vs Mikasa (Didn't care for this fight considering Blake is someone I no longer care for as a character, and I've never watched Attack on Titan. Though I honestly would've prefer Mikasa winning over Blake. Irony huh? 5/10) 14: Lex Luthor Vs. Doctor Doom (A fight with a previous champion and a previous loser. I wonder how predictably this fight could've ended? 6/10) 13: Steven Universe vs Star Butterfly (This was a pretty fun fight with an interesting introduction, but c'mon we all knew Star was gonna' take this one. 7/10) 12: Macho Man vs Kool-Aid Man (Very well animated fight. This marks the first time a WWE wrestler has ever been in a Death Battle. A momentus occassion for sure... if the fight was LONGER. 7/10) 11: Korra vs Storm (What is a queen to a goddess? Dead that's what. 7.5/10) 10: Master Yoda vs King Mickey (This battle had a lot of classic Disney heart too it. Kinda' funny how Mickey was the one who took the victory though considering Disney owns Star Wars.... huh.... 7.5/10) 9: Heihachi Mishima vs Geese Howard (This fight was WAY better than it had any right too be. I have barely any idea who these characters were and this fight made me want to go play Tekken & KOFs immediately. PREDICTABLE!!! 8/10) 8: Po vs Iron Fist (This battle surprised me the most. I thought Danny was gonna' take this one from the Jump, but i'm kinda' glad Po won. Probably the most surprising fight of the season for me. 8/10) 7: Batman vs Ironman (This fight was just too badass to ignore. Probably had two of the most insanely badass analysis sections in the entire season. 8/10) 6: Shadow vs Ryuko Matoi (This fight is so under-rated this season. The only thing I didn't like about this badass fight is Ryuko's voice acting, other that this fight SLAPS. 8.5/10) 5: Link vs Cloud Strife (Looks like Death Battle is truly the master of remakes, because this remake is ten times more badass than the original. It improves on the original in EVERY way. They did it before with Mario vs. Sonic, as well as Samus vs Boba Fett, and they've done it again here. 8.5/10) 4: Madara vs Aizen (The TRUE all-time anime villain fight we've been waiting for. WELL worth the wait. 9/10) 3: DIO vs Alucard (A spooky, top-notch vampire fight that made DIO look even more badass than the most badass vampire in all of anime. Just like I said about Korra vs Storm, what is a king to a GOD? 9/10) 2: Goku Black vs Reverse Flash (I absolutely loved Reverse Flash in this fight, he was such a petty, hilarious troll to Goku Black. Very well done fight overall. 9.5/10) 1: Saitama vs Popeye (Hands down, my new ALL-TIME favorite Death Battle!!! This fight had everything, amazing animation, fantastic fight choreography, personality, hilarious jokes that have become memes, emotion, and in a way, BOTH characters won the fight. Saitama might've lost, but he got the challenge he was looking for and died with a smile, while Popeye won the actual fight. A near perfect way to end the season. 11/10)

16. akuma vs kahn (this episode was at best boring, and at worst genuinely atrocious) 15. blake vs mikasa (😴😴😴😴) 14. mach man vs kool aid man (this episode made me feel nothing it isn't good it isn't bad, it's not boring, it's not exciting, i feel nothing for this episode) 13. po vs iron fist (this sure is an episode that exists) 12. star vs steven (without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the episodes of death battle history) 11. doom vs lex (kinda boring at points but still not bad) 10. shadow vs ryuko (heavy character assassination, but not really bad) 9. korra vs storm (it's good but that's about it) 8. yoda vs king mickey (this episode's good, but i just don't see it as the flawless masterpiece that everybody else does) 7. heihachi vs geese (solid episode, good fight and great death (even though I have no idea what geese was saying)) 6. cloud vs link 2 (feels kinda rushed with cloud's model just looking really flat, but still good regardless) 5. batman vs iron man (pretty good episode, with some good voice acting, even though I don't like the track, pretty good episode) 4. madara vs aizen (expectations were very high, the preview sucked but everything after the preview was great) 3. goku black vs reverse flash (really good episode with one of my favorite deaths in the entire series, despite goku black's analysis being complete shit) 2. saitama vs popeye (EASILY my favorite finale by far, everything about it is AMAZING a great end to the season) 1. alucard vs dio (one of my favorite episodes of the entire series, with my favourite death of the entire series, my favorite line reads of the entire series, one of my favourite analysis's of the entire series, just one of my favorite episodes of the entire series)

My list: 16. Blake vs Mikasa (The frame rate is extremely distracting, there was some stuff I enjoyed like the scene where blake gets her arm cut off and the track is in my top 3 of the season but most of it was pretty janky) (4/10) 15. Lex vs Dr Doom (Pretty boring, the dialogue in this episode just makes the episode feel way longer than it is and Dooms voice sounded off. Death was cool though and the 3d backgrounds actually look really cool.) (5/10) 14. Akuma vs Shao Kahn (I actually liked most of the first half of this episode, I thought the effects looked great and the choreography was quite good. Then Oni shows up and we have some of the most janky animation in any 3d episode. Shao Kahns voice was not deep enough as well) (5/10) 13. Macho Man vs Kool Aid Man (This was a weird episode, I thought the actual fighting was really well done and I adore the scene in the kool aid dimension. The thing that brings this episode down though is the focus on boomsticks dad and the pause in the middle of the fight so the hosts can analyze the two more really messed up the pacing) (6/10) 12. Ryuko vs Shadow (this is probably the episode that fell down my ranking the most over time. There are still a lot of things I liked. The banter was great even though there was not much and I enjoyed most of the choreography. My main problem is Ryuko's characterization. After finally watching kill la kill, I'm disappointed Ryuko acts more like how she did near the beginning then how she does at the end. It also probably has the worst death of the season.) (6.5/10) 11. Korra vs Storm (I did not expect to like this episode at all but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Korra does a lot of really cool stuff and the animation itself is very fluid. There isn't a ton of stuff that I thought was bad but there also wasn't a lot I thought was fantastic like my higher rankings or even some of the lower ones. Also Korra had a similar problem to Ryuko in terms of her characterization but it didn't bother me as much because I have never watched legend of korra) (7/10) 10. Ironman vs Batman (There was some wasted potential here, but in spite of that, this was still really good. I enjoyed a lot of the dialogue and the scene where the hellbat takes out multiple suits is awesome. I just wish Batman used more of his arsenal and the God Buster wasn't taken out so easily) (7/10) 9. Steven vs Star (This episode was really fun. Seeing their abilities bounce off each other was entertaining and It has some of my favorite dialogue of the season. Steven's transformation also looks great. There are some janky moments in the fight but it wasn't all that distracting except in the scene where Steven was punching star and I wasn't a fan of the death but overall, very solid.) (7.5/10) 8. Heihachi vs Geese (Great episode, it starts kind of slow but it picks up pretty quickly and I thought Heihachi's more offensive fighting style and Geese's more defensive style were really well handled. The death is also super brutal and I love it. My only issue after the slow start is that I found it hard to understand some of Geese's lines. I like that they made him speak broken English but it did take me out of the fight a bit) (8/10) 7. Iron fist vs Po (I'm not as big of a Kung Fu Panda fan as a lot of other people but I still really liked this episode. The dialogue rivals Steven vs Star for me and The voice actors did great jobs in there rolls. The hand drawn stuff near the end was fantastic as well. Unfortunately, Im not a fan of the death and the stuff after it as well. (8/10) 6. Madara vs Aizen (This fight had me worried at first, the preview looked... not great to say the least. Fortunately, this episode has very few flaws outside the beginning. Any jank the ladder half of the fight may have had didn't bother me thanks to the stunning effects and the abilities both of them used. Also hollow dreams is my favorite track in the series. Its everything I would want in a track and more) (8.5/10) 5. Dio vs Alucard (I loved this episode. There are a few of minor flaws in here but this episode had my favorite voice performance in the season in the season. Tom Schall did a stellar job as dio. The blood river looked fantastic as well.) (9/10) 4. Reverse Flash vs Goku Black (If this were based on the animation alone, this would be a 10/10. The sheer speed of Reverse Flash and power of Goku Black are conveyed fantastically and while I said some of the other episodes had some of my favorite dialogue, this had my personal favorite, It was shockingly funny and both characters had some stellar lines. It also has my favorite death of the entire series. Didn't think they would top hulk vs doomsday in that regard but it definitely did for me. Unfortunately this is one of few episodes where the analysis segments hurt my score of the episode. Goku Black's analysis is terrible. I have no idea why they showed the universal shockwaves before they even named dropped Goku Black. The jokes were real bad as well but they did get better later on.) (9.5/10) 3. Yoda vs King Mickey (This is my favorite season premiere. Both characters used More abilities than I expected and the climax of the fight was breath taking. There are some flaws but they are so minor to the point that they don't even come into play. This episode is in my top 10 of all time and I am honestly shocked that it's not my favorite of the season.) (10/10) 2. Link vs Cloud (I may be a little biased as this was my most wanted episode going into this season, but I adored this fight. There is some phenomenal choreography and both characters used such a wide variety of tools like clouds black hole and stop materia, as well as links four sword and sheikah slate. This is also one of few death battles that gave me chills thanks to the fierce deity transformation which is easily my favorite transformation in the shows history. My only flaw is that some of the effects looked kinda bad, specifically clouds piss glove and the ancient arrow explosion. This episode managed to make into my top 5 of all time.) (10/10) 1. Saitama vs Popeye (Wow, what an episode. This animation went above and beyond anything else this season. The action was great, the animation style changing was done incredibly well,The voice acting was beyond incredible, Saitama finally got the fight he always wanted, and it had my favorite climax of any death battle this season which is also my favorite scene of season 8. This is my favorite season finale and its my favorite episode since season 2. I'd still say I prefer Snake vs Sam but it is absurdly close. The only reason its not my favorite episode is that model for 3d popeye is terrifying but that dosen't bother me that much.) (11/10) Overall: this is my favorite season of the show. There is only one episode that I outright dislike and it's only a 4/10. Every other season has had at least one 3/10 and some had episodes that went even lower. Its also one of only two seasons to have 3 episodes in my top 10, the other being season 2. I dont think they will be able to top it with season 9 but I still hope it can at least come close.
