@@Savagewolver Fairness is kind of subjective when it comes to Death Battles, and the worlds the fights take place in always seem to be a sort of amalgam world. Take the Ironman vs Lex Luthor battle for example, Tony literally owns the Bat Mobile, until it gets destroyed...well technically everything in that building was Pepper's in that battle, but you get what im saying. A rupee dropping from a random pot would have been totally in line with what Death Battle generally tends to do.

@@leonelzubieta8636 Depends, Link and Cloud are decently matched, and neither here had access to literally all of their abilities or item, particularly since this is a Composite Link, his potential arsenal is massive. Infact if this Link had access to his full Composite Arsenal, he would be able to carry at the very least up to 4 bottled fairies, more if we use BotW/TotK inventory, each capable of rezing him, though not to full health, add Mipha's Grace and he gets rez'd and healed over full health, so thats at minimum 5 auto rez's since he doesnt have to actively use them. Then he has access to other armors, with all of BotW/TotK outfits he could be immune to fire with the Flamebreaker set or immune to Electricity with the Rubber Set, or immune to cold and freezing with the Snowquil Set. He even has two different options for temporary invulnerability with two forms of Magic Armor, with the Wind Waker one being more of a spell that drains his Magic Meter while the Twilight Princess version is literal armor that buys invulnerability by draining his Rupees, both of which would have allowed him to survive the Omni Slash. There is also Link's Mirror Shield, which will more or less absorb and reflect practically any magic thrown at it, or can be used to redirect light and blind Cloud. I will admit i know far more about the various Link's than i do Cloud, so i cant say what he might have to negate any of Links abilities or items ive mentioned. Honestly Link and Cloud have had two fights and each has won a fight, so its fairly fair to say that the fight could go either way, regardless of what items or abilities they would have access to. Its not like a Superman vs Goku fight where Goku can't touch Pre-Crisis Supes.

In Tears of the Kingdom he would have the company of the avatars of the sages and would have crazy fusions for his weapons like a Gerudo weapon and a silver Lizalfos horn to create a scythe

(I'm just interested in considering the various sides to an idea.) Now, spawning a device that has so many freezing weapons that it freezes Cloud and then Link just stabs him while frozen? That might actually be useful. (Of course, Cloud would just epic flex and shatter the ice because we all know that ice isn't actually that tough in game mechanics despite being able to tear a hole through metal and sink the Titanic.)

Lol. We could also turn this around. Gotta give the Link fanboys credit. They rationalize however they can, because they can't accept that their guy loses. Seriously though, the original fight was their first time having an RPG character in DB, and they didn't know how they wanted to handle them, due to the nature of player choice in the games. This resulted in a MASSIVELY nerfed version of Cloud, who had none of his shear power, and almost none of his arsenal. This resulted in Link taking the win. They then revisited the fight with updated standards, in which case they had a far more accurate representation of Cloud (still not perfect, but far better than the first one they did.). Because they used an accurate version of Cloud, they had to change the outcome, because Cloud is stronger, faster, more durable, at least comparably skilled, and has an arsenal that directly counters everything Link has that could have been dangerous otherwise, while simultaneously giving Cloud access to multiple options that Link has no defense against.

They usually do remakes if they feel its worthy to waste a episode slot for it and have the resources they want for said remake. This was a rematch that almost everyone wanted and it’s easily one of the best we’ve gotten. The choreography shows off a lot more of both’s arsenal than the original did, the references to both franchises are hilarious, the track merges both series’ types of music spectacularly, the Fierce Deity transformation is one of the best in the show, this fight is an outright spectacle. While it’s not a major highlight of the absolute unit that is Season 8, it’s still yet another banger to add to its amazing lineup and one of the best rematches in Death Battle History.

Link vs Cloud 2 was released in, June 14th 2021. Zelda Tears of the Kingdom was released in, May 12th 2023, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released in, February 29 2024. So, this release of an animation has titles of games that were released a fair bit after the episode was released. Which kind of sounds like clickbait to me.
