This was wicked dude! Im 43 and never stopped buying tapes and records so i have lots of old Banzai, early Venom , Slayer etc...i always thought Banzai was just the Canadian branch of Metal Blade until i watched this.if this vid was an hour long i woulda been happy.

I'm from Atlanta and have been collecting records since 1989. I recall seeing the 'Speed Metal' logo on several albums, but never made the connection that it was related to Banzai Records. This is a great series and I look forward to seeing more. Thank you for all your work!

I believe I have four Banzai pressings: Voivod - War and Pain, Savatage - Sirens, Tony MacAlpine - Edge of Insanity, Vinnie Moore - Mind's Eye. Was thinking my copy of Razor's "Executioner's Song" was Banzai, but turns out that one is on Viper.

GOOD stuff! I'd have to check, but I'm thinking there are black and white Banzai cassettes for KEA and RTL ...I could be wrong ....

I'm positive there are beige, black, for sure, but have heard there are more colours out there.

I'm giving away a few guitar picks for my Portland episode and after that's all taken care of I will go digging and post up later ...I'm with James, though...I'm sure there are variants ...after RTL it just turns into Elektra Made for Canada....there are obviously KEA and RTL variations of those as well ...I'm thinking there are even some for a Canadian Record Club that are slightly different l, too...and finally I've also got that Banzai Axe comp on cassette ....I LOVE that one!

Hey Mike, I had it confirmed today there are: white, black, and beige coloured Banzai cassettes of Kill. Black seems to be the most common, beige seemingly is the most scarce.

Great vid. I'm under the impression there were 1000 black label Kills pressed. However the prices on the secondary market doesn't reflect that. I often wonder if it's one of those things that is over looked in the collecting community, and collectors who are able to find them now are getting a great deal. It takes a good long search to find one, never mind being able to purchase it. Always seems like white labels are around if you dig deep enough. Anyone have any info on the press releases randomly inserted in Ride? Approximately how many of each variant were released?

I've only got two Banzai records: Show No Mercy (record only, it was jammed into a copy of South of Heaven I purchased) and Fistful of Metal. I though my copy of Razor's Evil Invaders was a Banzai, but it was Viper Records.

You have to to know that its impossible to get ALL lyrics inserts sheet as some Banzai relases didnt come with a lyric sheet.
