I know man. I used to know one red head country girl Back in 2013. I was a shy 19 years old guy, quite naiive. I had had My first heart break And i was totally broken. She invited me to her parents cabin And i ended up spening My whole Summer with her. She made me come out of My shell. We have seen each other once after that Summer but we Have grown into different directions. Anyways, she made me appreciate The real emotions. Soon im turning 30

I'd like to say so, because this atmospheric bridge is truly beautiful but sometimes I hate it like a (beautiful) tumorous outgrowth vampirizing this song, a song that would deserve (imo) a second set of versus/chorus (or maybe after the bridge). No doubt this would be less special but when you've got such a perfect riff, a catchy riff exhaling the power of clumsy passionate loves with undercurrents of bitter grief and nostalgia/melancholy + such powerful well-written verses, it feels to me that it was almost a crime to not choose to make this last any longer and deviate the song so early with this long bridge, as beautiful as it gets. The taste you win is beyond cool but it erases that first taste too. So, don't get me wrong, I know you're right, but since this came out I've often found the early appearance of that bridge kind of frustrating, even if I adore it too. The demo version and Car Seat Headrest's recent cover have at least a little more versus but I really would like to hear how the actual original song would sound with 2 more versus + chorus before (or after) that damned wonderful bridge.

I’m not the same person as I was a decade and a half ago, listening to this as a sad, angsty teenager full of ambition and longing. That teenage me would find a lot in common with my current self but also a lot very different. She’d be happy with how some things turned out, and cripplingly disappointed in others. But no matter how different I am now, I’m here listening to this song 15 years later, I’m not who I thought I’d be when I used to listen to this album on repeat, but I’m happy.

Yes, I remember The J., a.M.C. Sweet drop of nectar to ANYONE who truly KNOWS great tunes. Transatlanticism is and forever will be amazing. The innocence, yet revelry, reminds me of my youth in so many ways. Like the first time falling in love, going to a punk show, pulling into a full-on barrel, skating your first 1/2 pipe, meeting someone at a concert and "knowing" them and never knowing them again, full-on ragers at age 18 with 20+ people you have NEVER met, in a home you are merely house-sitting and caring for 4 cats, 3 dogs, and innumerable fish in a pond, meanwhile getting paid $200 per week for nothing but CARING for beautiful animals and attending your college classes. Oh, how I miss those days.😁 Be well, All

Used to do a punk reggae cover of this song, way too loud, but no one in the band but me would listen to this song, "ulcer rock", so it would kinda die at the end instead of leaving you to think, best part. I switched it, "do u remember the DCFC, I read about them in fan-zines". Best and last album I still listen to by DCFC, 405 was first song that got me (I thought it was about 405 in LA hearing it on KXLU and then seeing DCFC alone at SpaceLand, "you don't look like you belong here?"). Saw show for this album at Wiltern. Also love that Postal Service is San Pedro guy from Dublab, KXLU again. Now DCFC is KROQ n still super talented, drummer rips, keyboard guy seems arrogant, and I love that the bassist looks like a Hobbit, but I can't do it, I wish they would/could do something like this album again. I wish they were more KXLU, n not so KCRW. Also wish Blake from Jawbreaker was playing still too n not swinging a hammer to pay the bills, but that doc bombed n soon no one will remember, like DCFC, "Do you remember DCFC?"
