While not a great overall I will say this film had some out right brutal deaths. Eddie's was a rough one, the helicopter is just chilling, the tone, music, quick cuts of back and forth with the shark and the pilot, and the roughest one was by far Marge's, helping save little Shawn only for the shark to claim her right in front of him coupled with the effect it has on everyone. Now why the film makers couldn't do this throughout the film keeping it more of a slasher film I'll never understand.

I know it’s just a minor thing but I have always felt like the filmmakers reusing the scream sound effect from the first movie throughout this one was a nice way to show both are connected just like reusing the dolphin sounds at the beginning with the Universal logo.

Have to admit, if there is one thing this movie did better than part one it was the use of the dorsal fin. I mean here it was way scarier than the barrels every time you saw that thing pop out of the water, and although the shark didn't work in the first film for the most part, they had the fin available and did not use it enough.

Jaws 2 is criminally underatted and considered a “bad” movie when sometimes I prefer it over the original. The story is fantastic, it made the fin iconic, the music is still fantastic, and is just a great sequel overall. 9/10

I wrote this a year ago and I agree with you, I think I went a bit to far. The fin was definitely utilized more here, but it was still popularized In the first one. And the story is admittedly a little wonky. But other than that and the music sounding a bit off for John Williams (the reason was that he had to record music ahead of filming due to delays) this film is pretty damn good. Now, I would rate this a 6/10

i'll never get over the complexity and execution of that dolly/zoom tracking shot at 4:24. i'm guessing eddie was attached to something anchored to the boat that was shooting the shot, with an additional zoom in during the scene.

In a KZbin video,there's the making of Jaws 2,the film board,whoever it is who gives ratings to films,told the film director of this film he could pass it without cuts,the flip side,it would be rated R or he could censore/cut,and get a PG rating,he went for the PG rating,it was mainly down to removing the scene of the helicopter pilot getting bitten in half,that part was rewritten and in the end you don't see it,in the original script you did,helicopter man being bitten in half

Two things Tina made a huge mistake telling Eddie to swim when she saw that fin! It's said that sharks are attracted by sound and movement. If that's so Eddie might’ve arrived if he'd kept still. 2ndly that girl would've had plugs in her ears when she was doing all that screaming!!!!

You can't 100% guarantee what a shark is going to do or not they're an unpredictable animal if you keep still and not move they might swim right on by you and not even touch you but I think it all might also depend on whether or not they're hunger enough to even bother with you or not but I think also movement, splashing about, noise sound or if they get the slightest sent of blood in the water plays a factor as well.

One thing I find to be a super dumb criticism is that Tina was acting stupid in this scene and that’s just not true at all! She was reacting realistically. Two reasons why what she did makes sense: #1: While I personally haven’t been in shock, she definitely was and it sounds like when you are you are just terrified and can’t think clearly. #2: If She tried to save Eddie he would died regardless. Because he’s in the shark’s mouth and she would’ve tore him in half!!!! By the way, it’s the scariest scene of the movie for me even now.

Overall a good movie(unlike jaws 3 and 4 which were just horrible movies, not horror).Anyway the 5th kill, namely an Orca, is absurd to say the less. Any shark just approaching an Orca's pod is doomed to a painful death like a mouse amongst cats,no matter how big and bad it is.

This is actually the entire movie of Jaws 2 the sequel Martin Brody lost his control of his fear of Sharks he over do it when he fired his gun made himself in trouble by the Towns people Martin was fired from his job it wasn't his fault hiring Jeff is the biggest mistake to Martin's career that police officer suit with a chief badge belongs to Martin Brody he is the real hero of Jaws 2 afterwards after being fired Martin Brody came back to work at the end he killed the Shark i guess Martin Brody learned his lesson he shouldn't used his gun in front of everyone in public in the first place he wasn't thinking but he has saved the entire town and his Towns people kinda is Martin's neighbors being a police chief of a island can make mistakes, mistakes happens for a reason he regrets his lesson firing a gun in public is not the answer to Martin's problems he had too much stress in him that he caused Martin should've put his gun away in his pants buckle there is no need for that but I do feel bad for Martin Brody never mess with him or his mind he would slap the mayor's arse for his problems in the first place
