"Funny" story about Elize. In 2012 or 13 the now former singer of nightwish , Anette, was taken ill in Denver and had to go to the hospital. Opening for NW on that tour was Kamelot, that you have reacted to as well if I recall? Anyway, Elize sang with them (Kamelot) back then. She and Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy) stepped in so NW didn't have to cancel the show. So for one show Elize DID sing for Nightwish! (saw someone comment that she was in the running to replace Tarja) And as always, my dude. Great reaction!

I thought Elize and Alissa did a great job in Denver, considering they were only asked two hours before curtains if they could fill in.

It is SO AMAZING to me, some of the things Musicians and Vocalists can pull off! That was a HELL of a feat for having so little prep time! Just, OMG! I like Sabaton but the lady is Elize Ryd. In 2012 she and Alissa White Gluz toured with Kamelot. They were touring with Nightwish when Anette Olzon got sick in Denver only a couple of hours before Nightwish was to perform. Alissa (Arch Enemy) and Elize were asked by Nightwish if they would help. They took the stage with Nightwish and sang the lead parts. Floor arrived a couple of days later. See the Nightwish video the Denver Debacle for the documentary. Been meaning to suggest them to you for awhile,since Elize Ryd was 1 out of 2 female vocalists that in a extremely short notice,stepped in back when Nightwish were touring with Anette,and Anette got sick and unable to finish theyr concert. Elize Ryd & Alissa White-Gluz didnt have enough time to learn the lyrics for Nightwish`s songs,so they got up on stage with lyrics papers,and actually did pretty good during the circumstances. Tuomas and the guys had to make a decision: 1.Playback or 2. Find substitute singer(s). I know a few vocalists that would be like "Nah ah,i can end up a fool for not having enough time to prepare,im not doing it!". So i love theese 2 for being such great sports!Pretty underrated vocalists too,you should hear f.ex Alissa and Arch Enemy`s song - "The Eagle Flies Alone" (or "The World Is Yours"). Alissa tends to turn guys jawdroping once she starts singing. Not gonna spoil anything hahaha. One of my favourite songs by Amaranthe is "Helix". Should be right up your alley,but beware....Elize might be too much to handle in the video LOL ;) There is also theyr hit "Maximize",once again beware of hotness from Elize. What i used to love about Amaranthe,is that they technically had 3 vocalists at one point. One growling male vocalist,1 female lead vocalist & 1 normal/"clean" male vocalist,wich made all theyr songs sound unique. (Its like Iron Maiden and all the guitarists they have in the band,makes for that unique sound) Sadly theese days,both Elize and Andreas (the growler,he was replaced abit later) has left the band a few years ago. But i will allways like them what they were during Elizes era in the band. (They have 2 male vocalist replacements today,wich i havent really heard much of)

I've seen this band live & they actually had the playback die on them at the beginning of a song. Elize was like "Well, what are we going to do?" Random dude in the crowd yells "shots". Her response was "YES!!", then led the crowd in a 'shots' chant. They are absolutely hilarious. Elize herself is like a hamster on coffee, just going nonstop. Early on, Elize was called by some "The Britney Spears of Metal". I'm not sure they still refer to her as that.

The first thing I heard Elize in was Kamelot's Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife), which had both her and Alissa White-Gluz (then of The Agonist, now of Arch Enemy) on backing vocals. I like Amaranthe's work in small doses - I always enjoy new videos, but I'm not sure I could listen to an entire album all the way through because it's so frenetic. Kamelot seems to have a knack for finding (relatively) early-career female metal vocalists and having them do guest vocals on albums, given that they've worked with Simone Simons, Elize and Alissa, Lauren Hart (Once Human), and Jennifer Haben (the former pop singer from Saphir who founded Beyond the Black in 2014).

A reaction to Amaranthe by Mr Rock N Roll, my otherwise dull week has been brightened up. If you want to listen to some of their own stuff, The Nexus and Drop Dead Cynical are good ones to react to. There is also 365 and Helix you could react to which are more recent songs from them. I would suggest videos of their live performances but you'd be sifting through tonnes of bootleg quality videos to find the odd 1 or 2 decent one.
