A bit off topic... Regarding pink foam: The two-time Olympic Champion in Pair Figure Skating, Sergei Grinkov, had pink foam coming out of his mouth when he collapsed and died of a heart attack on the ice at 28-years-old. At his autopsy they discovered that his heart attack was caused by a genetic factor. It's named after him. When they said that Tammy had pink foam, I immediately thought of Sergei. He was young and healthy and skated in a show 8 days before he died. In fact, he was on the ice, running through a program when he collapsed. He was such a beautiful skater. Damn. But, unlike with Tammy, his heart told the story of why he tragically died, leaving behind a grief-stricken wife and child. Poor Tammy, with her strong, loving heart should have had a loving husband and should still be here watching her grandchildren grow up. Two tragedies.

I am know I am way late to this discussion. I am hospice nurse and I have sat at the bedside for hundreds of deaths. I have cared for hundreds of patients with pulmonary edema from congestive heart failure, opioid overdose, lung cancer, and chronic obstructive respiratory disease. I have never seen a pink foam. Rarely, I have seen foaming, but not blood tinged. This is so wild to me that Tammy’s death was ever seen as natural.

Hey there (I adore you gals btw!), I wanted to drop a little bit of hint about Ian, which explains why I'm not surprised AT ALL that he stayed married and had children with Melaniece, and why Melaniece shockingly was not charged. He may come across as a "good and reasonable guy", and I have to admit he plays his role pretty well, BUT there is more to the story. I got this information from HTC, an interview with an ex-friend of Melaniece you can still find at the channel, and maybe many of you watched it but didn't make the connection: Brandon had a business partner (his name was not revealed) and his wife Jes was very close friends with Melaniece for over a decade. She basically watched Melaniece slowly get sucked into this cult, start the divorce proceedings and marry Ian while all the deaths started taking place as well as the attempted shooting at Brandon. So Jes and her husband were actively engaged in trying to help Brandon escape and hide; in fact, Brandon slept at their home with his children in the day the attempt took place, fleeing his home. Yet Jes was still trying to keep contact with Melaniece, thinking maybe she can save her from this brainwashing. They even had a long friendly conversation after the attempt at Brandon's life. But they (Brandon's business partners and all the workers who worked with them) were scared to death of the fact that Melaniece was basically sending people to surveille the business place in case she can find a clue about Brandon's and childrens' whereabouts, and they lived in terror for months thinking that Alex would show up and shoot up the place, until his death. After the remains of JJ and Tylee were found at the backyard, Melaniece released a media statement where she kept her support for Lori as ambiguous as possible, so Jes felt compelled to ask if she still supported Lori or not. At that point, Ian's family started attacking Jes on FB, making fun of her, insulting her in a very infantile manner, basically bullying her due to the fact that Jes even dared to ask Melaniece (a friend over a decade) to clarify her stance. They got so ugly that Jes had to block all of them and distance herself from the whole situation to make them stop. So despite the fact that we all appreciate Ian for doing what's right, I don't think he did it for the righteous reasons we attribute to him. I think he did it to save his own sweet back to prove to the police that he is not involved. If you remember, when Ian first went to the police, the police were totally skeptical about him and they had the opinion that he was attempting to become a spy of some sort for the cult. That's when he was compelled to bring in consequential evidence to help the case, and then he started to record the conversations and turn them in. Considering the behavior of his family "protecting Melaniece" and attacking everyone who stood against Lori, it's reasonable to put Ian on that side, despite his collaboration with the police. Ian never told her family to stop bullying people for being sceptical about Lori. He did not have to reveal the fact that he was collaborating with the police to warn them against doing things like this. He could had just told his family remain silent, but he didn't. And his story evolved as the situation got serious to an extent that can implicate them. What I believe is that, this is more complicated than what he portrays at the court. All the messiness and fluctuations in his conduct got wiped out before he got this "righteous" character to become a convincing witness. His actual story is much more convoluted and muddy. That's why I think he doesn't see all of this as a big deal; I don't think he appreciates and understands the danger that lies in all of this, and his main concern was not to get charged, and eventually to change the public opinion about them. He just played a role to get out of this mess, including saving Melaniece from becoming a co-conspirator. This also explains why Melaniece chose to stay married to him and forgive him for recording their conversations, as she'd personally be in a BIG trouble otherwise. Now he gets to enjoy this reputation of being a righteous guy, as well as being a hero for his wife, helping her get a sweet deal for someone who should absolutely be in prison as a co-conspirator. That's why he has no problem with having kids with her. That's why none of them ever apologized to Jes, either. Let's just see if we'll get to learn more about this in the trial for Brandon's attempted shooting, but I don't have high hopes. They'll just sanitize every bit of messiness with Melaniece to pin in on Lori to make sure to get a conviction. I believe they won't want to muddy the waters with the involvement of Melaniece to make the case against Lori stick as hard as possible, without revealing all the complications. (Edit: Sorry if my English is a bit off, I'm actually from Turkiye 🤭)

That was a very interesting interview for sure !that poor girl sounded so traumatized.and thank you for the refresher summary .I don’t hold Ian as the hero everyone does but he is one of the better ones of the bunch.not high standards to live up to w these people lol.what sealed it for me that he wasn’t as great and is more suspicious thank people think was ian confessing to Melanie he was recording her and then defending her and helping her get out of this mess at that point they had barely been married and barely even knew each other.

I think we can admit that the coroner severely mishandled the processing of Tammy's body. Just the fact that her body was cold enough to suggest she was dead for more than 4 hrs, right there, presents a very suspicious situation where we have to be believe that Chad slept next to her body (basically all night) without noticing. To me, that immediately creates a reasonable suspicion that Chad may have had a motive to "hold" the body for a critical period, possibly to allow toxicity to dissipate from her body... So if he was very clever with a very measured dose of (say) cyanide, that holding or waiting period could have allowed the toxicity to dissipate considerably. So even if the coroner had rushed an autopsy, a very tactical measured dose of cyanide might not have been easy to detect. But, all in all, we can't deny that the coroner's mishandling of this investigation is a big problem.

Question. Maybe for another show.. I would really like a deep dive in to life insurance fraud. For instance, would Daybell kids face the chance of having to return Tammy's life insurance money $400,000 plus, if Chad is found guilty of her murder? Because this could be a very convincing argument for them to persue the "Dad's innocent" line??

Thank you for asking Joseph scott morgan about the malachite poisoning. I was really curious about it especially since we saw evidence of a text from chad saying he gave alex "malachite healing balm" and from what i read, putting malachite into a form that could be absorbed into the skin is what would make it toxic to humans. I keep shouting out, Alex had TWO TORCHES. These were found in Zulema's home. You can hear law enforcement commenting on these torches. They don't seem to be listed, perhaps because they were in the house, not the storage site? I could be wrong, but torches would be useful in rendering a body. If you've ever cooked duck, you understand "rendering." Alex had so few possessions. So why TWO torches.

There was a mattress that Chad was so worried about that he kept taking over and over to Emma during his arrest. She must have been choked. There is no evidence of any organ failure that would have led to the death. Anyway the coroner destroyed any hope of finding the reason. If there was a way to check Alex that would have been great but that devil got cremated.

May I state a very unpopular fact, which is true nevertheless: Rexburg is a relatively small town, with the majority of LDS population. Most of the people involved in the early stages of Tammy's body recovery would also be Mormons, and if a family father in his fifties declared that he did not want any autopsy while everyone present displayed loud signs of grief, the deputy coroner, especially if it was a woman, would be expected to bow to an elderly male's authority and follow his and his offspring's wishes. (That is not only an LDS religious tradition; most of the patriarchal society segments would act in the same way.) I have read a couple of dozen comments from the LDS church members who think it might have been the hierarchy of authority which allowed Chad to have Tammy buried without an autopsy. What I am really astonished about is the time that passed between Tammy's death and the 911 call. After Tammy's approximate TOD was established, were Chad or Garth ever asked by the detectives why they waited 5-6 hours to make that call? I am also not aware of Blake asking Garth about it. Does anyone know anything about that? Have Chad & co. ever had to explain what they were all doing during that night, until Garth finally made that call? Is there any information about that?

Thanks for having Joseph Scott Morgan on, this was fascinating! Since Emma's testimony I have a new theory of what happened to Tammy. I think Emma, Alex, Chad, were the ones who did Tammy in by "burking"/suffocation. Emma made that slip up in her testimony about Chad, something to the effect of "I've never seen him so upset as when he saw my mom dying" she didn't say "dead" she said "dying" i think it was a slip. The way she worded it, it sounds like she was there. I think Emma had everything to do with the murders, she wasn't surprised that the children were found in the yard. These people are unbelievably horrific monsters. Soulless. Dark.I also think this story may not be over bc Emma is still a believer in possession and has 3 kids of her own. These people still believe. Gibb, many others.

Alex was not an unattended death. He was brought to the hospital and died either there or en route.

Couldn't they have or did they test the towels that supposedly had pink matter on them?

Mr. Morgan is brilliant !!! Alex Cox died in December 2019, months before the children died. Unfortunately, he was cremated, so the only possible way to do further testing would be with whatever samples were taken. I don’t know that there would have been a lot of investigative officials present at the autopsy since they were just in the beginning stages of the investigation for the children’s whereabouts and Tammy’s death. I think Alex Cox’s death might have flown under the radar as far as very focused autopsy goes.

Don’t you mean Alex died months after Tylee and JJ died? Tylee died September 9 th 2019 and JJ died September 23 rd 2019.

Chad worked at a cemetery not a crematorium. That’s why he was so stupid.

Nothing they tested for, but Chad had access to the college library. He could have chosen something unusual or difficult to test for or that would be difficult to test for after death.

I think with Sebastian people should look 😅nto missing 411. David paulodes says there are many who have went missing in that area and never found and search dogs found no scent.

When Joseph Morgan was talking about JJ being buried alive. He said there would be debris. But would there because they had him so wrapped up in those double plastic bags? Or maybe if they wrapped him before getting to Chad's he passed on the way over? Poor little guy. I was hoping they drugged him before this. Why would Alex P. still be married to Melanie P if he thought she was going to have her kids killed and also his kids. I would want nothing to do with her after that especially once they found the bodies of Tylee & JJ. To think she had a part in all this Alex is nuts.I don't care if Melanie P. says she doesn't believe this crap anymore. Children died. Charles tried to tell the police and he ended up dead. If I wsa Alex I would sleep with one eye opened. Zulema went blonde too.
