Fun fact: in lore the krieg never actually use their shovels for melee purposes, not once is it stated. And yet GW put it in recent things like their animations because like trazyn: the meme has become so well known the company has decided it wants to throw it In some canon material lmao.

To be fair, they're based off of real-life people who absolutely have used a shovel to kill people. It just makes too much sense for "I'm out of ammo, I could smack someone with my gun.... OR THIS BLADED SHOVEL! :D". Don't have to be Ogryn or Ork to appreciate a good beaty-stick that also happens to be a shovel.

Yeah, usually thought as "abomitable inteligence" in the imperium but people let it slide because it pumps out warriors like crazy. Its literally just a big cloning chamber and once a kreiger reaches the body full development then they get put into training
