Guy Fawkes night is also celebrated in Newfoundland and Labrador. Despite the Canadian annexation in 1949 we still celebrate fine English traditions every November the 5th.

I have a question for this channel and anyone who wishes to respond. In a show called Breaking Bad, a character creates a compound, mercury (II) fulminate. It was not a powder like all the videos I have seen but clear crystal. He throws the crystal on the ground and it makes a huge explosion. Can you guys please try to recreate that or something similar? It would make my day.

There is a small village near where I live where every year they have a procession where they walk a life size model of Guy Fawkes around the town, everyone follows behind with flaming torches, they take the model to the top of a huge bonfire and everyone thrusts their torches into the bonfire at the same time, it's really awesome! Then they set of hundreds of fireworks!

Huh... am I the only one that wears a nomex flight suit, nomex aviators gloves, and my work SAR helmet/goggles when messing with big homemade pyrotechnics? Safety first... One year I melted a huge 5" deep, 2 foot wide hole in the street with a massive homemade fountain... it was epic. The cone weighed about 15 pounds and stood 3 feet tall. Ended up having to buy a shitload of asphalt patch and rented a tamper to undo the damage. Neighbors on new years be like, "oh shit... hes got his fighter pilot suit on, keep the kids back when he lights whatever he puts in the street"

In answer to your question of "some Pagan festival" comment; I'm pretty sure that Halloween and Bonfire Night are actually the same festival which came from the Wiccan festival, a Celtic festival in which the Celts would burn a Wicker man who represented the sun god. This was to celebrate the death or end of the summer and passing into winter.

@gh0stmast3r

that's the fuel of the mix, the potassium compound, which is also known as saltpeter is a strong oxident and the sulfur acts as a catalyst to make it burn more vigorously to make it an explosion.

Why do some people have those lines/cracks on their glasses? What are they called?
@CafeFilthmuck
@CafeFilthmuck 9 жыл бұрын
They're called bifocals. When some people need two different types of glasses - say one for general vision, another for reading - they can have two different sets of lenses made (and thus two different types of glasses to carry around & inevitably lose), or have one pair of glasses with different types of lenses in different places. That way they can look through one part of their glasses (usually the top strip) to see in general, and if they'd like to read they look through a different (usually the lower) section. The crack you see is the boundary between the two different types of lens. It sounds difficult (and for a while it is), but you get used to it eventually. There are also trifocals out there with three different types of lens in one pair of glasses, but not many people like them since the strip you can see through is too narrow.

Im a pyrotechnician here in the US, that is not a death mix. its a simple color burning composition. Death mixes or Armstrong Mixes refer to a composition which are sensitive enough to spontaneously ignition from moisture, friction, or low amounts of heat. additionally the sensitivity is high enough to foster higher burn speeds in which a 2-5 gram pile would explode. "Death Mixes" are a more common name for dangerous flash composition. Also Zirconium is too expensive. Al/S gives the same effect.
