James Cameron, the man terminator fans all revere, has said numerous times it is Sarah's story. His words. It is on the ultimate edition DVD for crying out loud. You gonna argue with him, the creator of the franchise? The creator has more of a say of what the franchise is about than any fan ever will.

@@NeoConnor1 Oh please. Genisys was not focused on John. In fact, it fell into the same trap as Dark Fate. John was killed off and replaced, in this case by a Terminator wearing his face, while the actual focus of the film was on Sarah, Kyle, and 'Pops'. Salvation, meanwhile, struggled because they split the story between John and some random character no one cared about. As for Terminator 3, it wasn't as well received as 2, but it still did fine at the box office. Dark Fate's failure is on it's own shoulders.

However, I honestly feel dark fate is the best of the films since T2 because it actually moved the series forward and finally broke free of the needless repetition of the series. It was getting convoluted and redundant with every new movie, and as I said, I like every movie. If you didn't like dark fate, that's fine. I am just saying to all the fans out there who act like they know more than the creator of the franchise: if he thinks it is the right call, he has the right to say what is and isn't canon. Just like you don't have to like it. But don't go against the facts. James thinks it is Sarah's story and I agree with him after watching T1, T2, and Dark Fate together back-to-back. You don't. Oh well. But it is his call. You don't have to like it, but I think terminator fans should at least try to keep a more open mind and respect where he comes from.

Erm... *Genesys* is actually an alternative timeline that happen for *T1* . Basically genesys is *T1* alternate. It completely erase *T2* and so on making a new storyline. This Genesys event is something like "unexpected event" that was different from John Connor's original timeline of T1. The unexpected event was the existence of "pops" which something never happened during original T1 event therefore John Connor never told Kyle Reese about it. *T:DF* however, is from the original *T2* after credit which happened only to erase *T3* and *Salvation* continuity that created another alternative timeline for that. Also by terminating John Connor in *Dark Fate* , Skynet was erased as well and replaced by Legion, which is why T800 with learning cpu was left stranded in the old world after killing John. They made terminator series based on "what if" timeline theory after all... That's how I understand the series. Another reason that I think why they made Dark Fate is because they are basically doing the same thing as most of other movies nowadays... *"The Passing Batons"* They are trying to pass the batons to new young characters like Captain America passing his shield to Falcon, Ironman passing to her daughter maybe, some other movies that I have forgotten to mention here. Perhaps they are doing this too. From Sarah Connor to Dani and with this passing, maybe we will never see Arnold Schwarzenegger as a terminator anymore. This is just my opinion though. It could be wrong.😅😅😅

MULTIVERSE/multiple timelines, etc. the events of Genysis are of a different timeline, very near and parallel to the events of the original movie. the timeline splits when Skynet uses it's advanced technology to arrive, well who knows exactly when but he/it arrives to witness Kyle going through the machine....and creates a new timeline by converting John Connor and sending back the T-1000 and the T-3000,etc. you can't actually change the 'past' because that would result in imbalances (in the timeline) and impossible paradoxes-which btw i don't believe for a second exists-. this is assuming that temporal displacement is at all possible.

For me there’s only two terminator films the Terminator and terminator 2 judgment day. I like some parts of the ones that followed but these two are the only ones for me. Also there is an alternative or true ending to T2 which I deem just that the ending.
