"Your more than just a womb." That part got me, the weird feminism take they injected was awkward. The reason John is who he is, is because of his mother. In alot of ways, she was the stronger character. John was raised with the information to push him through to success. Sarah was a self made badass, who routinely fought terminators.

to ensures Skynet is made, that would be it's next mission directive, or the least to allow itself to be discovered so humans inevitably build skyney. That's the realistic outcome based more accurately on the lore and skynets tactics. Since skynet would not allow them to think for themselves it can't just go on living after it's mission. It would need the switch the learning blocker off like they did in T2.
@3takoyakis3 жыл бұрын
those questions already answered in T2 anyway in directors cut, theres scene where terminator ask sarah to turn off his skynet mission on the back of his head because of that, he is now able to learn more about humanity with john Just accept it that this film is done in T2. If only cameron worked dark fate by himself and tim miller / superior didnt changes his idea... by a lot, we would get better film. But now? its done. Both of the original actor (especially linda hamilton that acts as sarah) definitely wont comeback for next film.. if they ever make one
@Draknfyre3 жыл бұрын
@@3takoyakis It wasn't to "Turn off his Skynet mission", he wasn't on any mission given by Skynet, otherwise he would've killed John the moment he found him. What the deleted scene was about, is that Skynet sent Terminators out in read-only mode because allowing them to learn made them liabilities. It's explained in the extended canon that Terminators that actually SIDED with the human resistance were a thing, and Skynet wanted to stop that and ensure its soldiers remained completely under its control. However, because that was in a deleted scene, having to flip the chip around to switch it off of read-only isn't canon. Terminators can learn normally. As evidenced by Terminator 2, and Dark Fate.
@MrDalewin3 жыл бұрын
And unfortunately, like most modern movies, ideas like this are kept in the background instead of at the forefront, leaving that the only thing to talk about, and the one thing that would make the movie actually good.

It makes no sense. His read and write cpu access is denied. It wouldn't had learned to become human. It most likely would have rewritten his order to kill John Connor killing any person with that name starting with his age just like the first one in terminator 1 then would had to ensure skynet was build either by directly building an advanced cpu and giving it to cyberdine systems or by working there itself and helping to build it and get it online. I don't think it would allow itself to be captured. If cyberdine discovers an infiltrator unit made from its tech or gets access to the files the terminator has of its creation and mission they would automatically see it as a red flag to stop development into the AI

I still don't get why they've got a pretty sloid movie, but decided to ruin it in first 5 minutes? I mean, literary, what stopped them from saying that John and Skynet exist in background as they're not important to this story? The other weak point is that they have too many characters and fail to sell off future Dany as leader. Different character being important to different set of events seems likely and they sell her as old school "revolutionary" leader instead of tech genius like John. Problem is her future war scene is really weak. The film focuses entirely on Grace(whom it later kills off)... whose also pulling most of the weight for other 3 heroes. Third problem is lack of distinctive feature outside of name for Legion and Rev-9. They're just Skynet and T-X/T-3000 with different names. They should have given Rev-9 and other future terminators more biological look, something along the lines of Warframe/Crysis with a bit of body horror on top. Make them distinctive from mechanical creations of Skynet not just in different color. Army is useless and nobody still knows about events of previous movies. Which is impossible after T-2. After T-1 Sarah was locked down in ambigious way(have they really locked her down because they thought she was crazy or was government trying to clean up the few witnesses as well as maybe protect her?) while the remains of T-101/800 were delivered to Cyberdyne *by government agents* for analysis and reverse engineering. After T-2 it was obvious that "time war" won't just stop after single event. There were dozens of people, who had seen the chip and hand in Cyberdyne and analised them, hundreds of witnesses. And yet there is no secret phone number you can dial to have a strike team equipped with HEAT weaponry come to your help.

"The future is not set." Entire franchise has subsisted entirely on history repeating itself. "There is no fate but what we make for ourselves." Every single Terminator sequel rendered the main characters' actions null and void, with Dark Fate going so far as to start off with a Diabolus ex Machina. They really should've just stopped after Terminator 2 --some movies just weren't meant to be franchised.
@marcw68755 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say "null and void." They usually at least delayed Judgement Day. If we're being honest, that's probably the best one could hope for anyway. At least in a fictional world where artificial intelligence always seems to lead to rampaging hordes of killbots. Because you know that SOMEONE is going to create A.I. at some point.
@Cloudstrife1122335 жыл бұрын
You know, you could theoretically look at the Terminator Universe as an expanding multiverse. Each new film as one part of an equation. In each film they stop judgment day and then the next one takes place in a parallel world where they only delayed it.

I get the plot is not the best... (its pretty bad for the franchise as a whole but "alone" it aint that bad) consider the following: No one on the bunch of armed guards was an augmented human supersoldier from the future. It would have been a good movie if she simply was an important person from a different future and Sarah found her and Grace fighting a diferent terminator only to find out there is more than a single timeline and so they need more than 1 saviour at any given time.
