Al Ewing did the lords work by turning Hulk into body horror book with religious undertones. It’s a new status quo that I hope never goes away. This run by PKJ feels like a direct sequel to Immortal Hulk.

I do really appreciate the aspects of Immortal that PKJ is utilizing. It just feels like a bummer that we lost the system of alters working together, but I suppose that's more Cate's fault for returning the status quo to Bruce and Hulk (just, *a* nebulous identity of Hulk at that) hating each other.

So this is how it came to be... That's a lot to take in.. Like the part about the One below all taking notice was a big twist... but given that he also showed up at the end of Al Ewing's Immortal Hulk run, it makes sense he does so here also. But the thing that strikes me as the craziest thing, is Enkidu death caused many people to be sacrificed to him, so he would have had many followers in the afterlife.. I'm not sure if he had appreciated that being done in his honor. The fact that Enkidu ran alone all his life trying to protect people only to have people sacrificed for him in death... feel sacrilegious.. I would not be surprised that this becomes an important point later on.

Well yeah of course he showed up. The Hulk is the avatar of The One Above All. They even called him his son in this one so the two are completely interchangeable now.

@@higherselfproductions Well then.. Let's expand on this, then? Does the one Above/Below all have more than one avatar? If the Hulk the Below all Avatar, is there above all avatar? Can there be more than one son or daughter to act as the avatar at any one time.. Is the Avatar a gender-specific position? Why is the avatar for the one below all usually on earth? I feel this needs to be asked as I don't think the reader, (us) can really treat this like a rule yet.. But more of a theory? Like, I really like to know why we have only seen the green doorway open on earth.. It's not earth is the only place where gamma Radiation could exist. I guess technical, we could find out gamma radiation only comes out of one special rock that came from an asteroid that happened to hit earth... Given how, that was how Enkidu was birthed.. Then it makes sense.. This is how come we have only seen the Hulk on earth.. And why we don't see other hulks in the universe.

I really like the lore that's being added to Hulk's character over the years. The horror tones fit perfectly. We got Monsters, Gods, ancient beings, TOBA. Hell, even the Devil showed up! I literally have never seen Lucifer before in Marvel which was crazy. For him to show up in a Hulk comic of all things is WILD! I thought Marvel just didn't have a Lucifer. I am curious though about the Green Door. If its truly shut then how is Hulk still able to come back to life and escape death? Does he not actually need the Green Door for that? Or does the Green Door really have a different purpose and it's not just meant for bringing gamma people back to life? I don't know. Maybe Hulk is just special. Either way, I'm liking the run so far! Can't wait to see what's next!

​@@guerillla6 I'm probably wrong but I feel like each time has been more like, Hulk let's Bruce *almost* die (cause he's being cruel) but transforms just before Bruce technically flatlines. But with the Green Door closed they definitely can't pull any cheese like recovering from Abomination's acid by having Betty eat Hulk's heart to give him an instantaneous full reset.

It seems to imply that TOBA only intervened due to the Green Door being open but now since it is closed now he can't help. This could be awful for Bruce, Hulk, TOAA, everyone that exists if Eldest releases her mother!

Is interesting that Marvel is blending a couple of things together. It looks like the one below all is actually ATUM, the Angel form that got rid of the elder gods off of the Earth. This looks like the form that ATUM took to kill all of the elder gods. This all makes sense given the highest energy form in the universe is on the gamma spectrum. Not sure if marvel writers and editors, especially the editors, are smart enough to make this long range connection but if you look at what our Ewing is doing with the immortal Thor,, this all seems to make some sense.

I always hated the idea of the Hulk beating up gods, but if it turns out that the Hulk is an incarnation of Enkidu which is an equal to Gilgamesh then it all finally makes sense. For me mythology wise.

@@higherselfproductions yes unfortunately I really never was a hulk fan and him beating the living lights out of gods just really annoyed the heck out of me. Just my opinion though. But with this where he’s an incarnation of Enkidu I’m like well this makes so much sense now. Mythology wise Gilgamesh was a being that the gods can’t control and if Hulk is Enkidu’s incarnation who is an equal to Gilgamesh, this just checks a lot of boxes for me.

Before it was just the catch all of "hulks power is infinitely increasing strength" But now it's that his strength is derived from the literal creator god (yes its technically from toba but Toba=Toaa). I love how hulk now serves a cosmic role. He is what stands between the marvel universe and the things originate from outside it

This is basically a nearly direct follow up to the Immortal Hulk series. They are still in the midst of telling the whole back story so we all have to stay tuned for more. But, we just saw Hulks power source, The One Above All show up and I expect we will see him again before this is over.

Enkidu is just the first version of the Hulk (aka The Fractured Son). Banner is the most recent version of The Hulk (Fractured Son). Banner can die just like Enkidu, but The Hulk (Fractured Son) is immortal. Hes basically the son of the One Above All as described in this issue further.
