Death’s Door Developers React to 55 Minute Speedrun (Acid Nerve)

Death's Door has been out for around six months, and speedrunners have managed to finish the game in under an hour. So ride along with David Fenn and Mark Foster from Acid Nerve as they watch and react to an incredibly quick playthrough of their game from speedrunner Dyenamite.

Just finished it 100% on Switch, what a beautiful game. Slightly frustrating at times, until you find out what you did wrong (like the bosses that slow you with a lock on, when you find out you can mash your way out of that slowing lock on). Bought it physically, and even the retail physical release is among the prettiest I've seen, with an art filled manual, inner box art, most of the back dedicated to in-game images, no written marketing, and less of the technical stuff. Love it. And of course the Ghibli esque front with the amazing characters.

But its BLATANTLY FAKE! Right away at the first boss his arrow shots were INSTANT! If you have played it you will obviously know shooting the bow has a "wind up" or "cool down" between each shot, its actually like 1.5 seconds, DEFINITELY not instant, even when the bow speed is fully upgraded! Otherwise tell me how u shoot arrows one after the other instantly at the START of the game? Obviously FAKE.

As a very casual gamer, I bought it, starting play it and got way to frustrated with trying to kill the bosses that I simply deleted it. This is really for hard core games, casual gamers should avoid. They should have put an easy mode in it for the rest of it as the joy for me was the exploration and finding stuff, but the bosses basically killed that joy pretty quickly.

The 55 is from the game time which is shown on the initial screen @ 1:00:15 . This is likely because the runner didn't stop the timer for cutscenes whereas the game probably does.

Right at the first boss you can EASILY see he was shooting arrows one after the other INSTANTLY!
