Sam was in the same grayscale when he was stranded on his Beach for decades after stopping Amelie.

Yes, in fact I suspect the reason we see Sam with white hair is most likely due to this. Basically Sam will be white haired whenever he cross over to the beach using the ship. As for how people become colorless when they cross the seam, well it doesn't happen everytime. We see Heartman become colorless when he died the first time, and we see Sam become colorless when he end up on his own beach. However, everyone on Amelie's beach retains their color, including Higgs, Sam, Die Heartman, etc. Perhaps the outlier is Amelie's beach and becoming colorless is typical when you enter anyone's beach, which in this trailer is most likely Fragile's beach since she's the one that can transport people (and now the ship).

That body in the beginning looks more like Higgs?? I know him and Fragile were fighting and enemies but it looks a lot like Higgs "Looks like you traded in your rope for a stick this time.." That's a BIG line. In the first game Sam was the rope to bring people together. A stick is a defense mechanism. Maybe that is a refrence to this game being more action forward

Okay, so my take on the crazy robot samurai stuff. The pod Higgs was holding during that sequence was gone once it appeared. In his hands one second, gone the next. The machine itself was different than the others, taller, and featured a classic analog Odradek Sensor as essentially a face. The robots helping Higgs had digital Odradek Sensor faces, same as the one Higgs has. If you listen closely during the fight, the laughter and giggling of a baby can be heard. It was definitely not one of the other Robots, as not only was it's design different, it's first act was to eliminate the other robots, including those restraining Sam after it jumped behind Higgs. This leads me to a conclusion that seems almost crazy to me. The robot samurai is Lou. On another topic, the ship. Those first scenes onboard the ship ("On The Ship"), where Sam and Fragile are blue-tinted, indicates they are on the seam, and considering the prior reveal trailer showing the ship emerging from the tar, the ship is likely going to be passing through the seam and using the beach to cross through space, and considering some of the otherworldly shots we get, notably of the supermassive moon horizon shots, and the regions in the reveal trailers coffin march shots, I assume it's also going to have us crossing dimensions, delivering packages the whole way. Also, omg, the river flooding, the mountain collapse shot, the scene of the ship hovering over a burning field. We're getting some serious environmental factors to consider, far more so than simply inclement timefall weather. They talk alot about Mexico and the border, which might be the US border, but they might also be faking us out and referring to a more death stranding themed border. Either way, that's basically confirmation of at least 1 new playable region that includes northern Mexico. Also also, giant hermit-crab in the form of a large hand as a boss BT just makes so much sense. Combined with red-mist scene tall shadow men BT's, looks like we've got an expanded roster of horrors to deal with on our trek. I've got alot of other observations, but i'll stop before this becomes a ted-talk.

I'm assuming this would make more sense if I had played Death Stranding. But it is a Hideo Kojima game so maybe not. Also that guy with the guitar definitely feels more The Crow and less Joker. The kid's toy that hits his foot, looks like it's one of those wheeled toys where you push it and the figures move up and down. I've seen one that looked like running horses, that one looks like fish or dolphins? maybe.

Kojima is probably the only guy to make legit 10 minute trailers. Its old now, but i would highly recommend watching the MGS5 Red Band trailer, Welonz. It's amazing and also near 10 minutes long.

So. I think Lou highjacked the big samurai bot which is why it's face turned into a Odradek actively sensing a BT and giggled like her. She was protecting her dad. The timing is also interesting because it happened when Higgs touched the pod and his hair fluttered. Seems like he knows what's actually happening with Lou and that she isn't dead.

Nah, I'm sticking with the interpretation I already have about who BB-28/Lou/Louise really is. It holds up from what I saw in this trailer, and it holds up from what I saw in previous trailer. And it matches up with what Higgs says - "you still don't know, do you?". Damn I love this Kafkaesque madness. But it's also stupidly well hidden in the main game, near impossible to fully obtain. For a reason I guess. Other than Outer Wilds, my most watched game, and I'm still picking up subtle clues. The "grayscale" (more like blue'ish) was used in the previous game too, to depict a certain something.

​@@claireminator Welonz should stop reading right now. Before I even start, the "breathing smoke" was also a thing in the original game. I'm amazed at how many players didn't pick up on that. The clue is obvious in the important cutscenes with Mama, once you know how her story plays out. Note that it is impossible for a first time player to "figure this out", yet the game successfully provides a very rewarding ending. To "see it", you have to be obsessed. Luckily, I am 😄 But I haven't read the books yet, that's on my todo list. Well, the game is obviously Kafkaesque in its delivery (scanner is even called an Odradek, reference from "The Cares of a Family Man", and Kafka is mentioned in the lore), so it's definitely *open* to interpretation. Meaning I could be completely wrong, and/or I miss significant pieces to be revealed in Death Stranding 2 or future games. Remember, it took a decade to decipher Metal Gear Solid, and the timeline takes several hours to explain in a video. I don't remember what pieces Melonz obtained, so I'm not gonna spoil it - or rather, my thought process - outright. Instead go watch the youtube movie, narrated by Tommie Earl Jenkins: JOY TO THE WORD - The Death Stranding Edition Ep. 9 "LUCY" (it's a long one). Obviously, this may contain extreme spoilers to the best hidden mystery in the game. This full piece of information is ridiculously hard to obtain; have to play after the game ends and do some really hard and very specific deliveries. With that in mind, you *should* come to a conclusion, albeit maybe a vague one. If you do, go watch the game again. And again. And again. And again. Trying to make sense of all the hidden clues fit that narrative. As a (not obvious) 4th wall breaking line in the game goes (paraphrased): "To connect the dots, to make sense of it all, you need time. You need perspective". Questions you may ask yourself: 1) Why is BB-28 so ridiculously secret compared to the rest of them, why does it keep coming back after repatriation (ref how first encounter plays out on the beach), and why is it developed way beyond what it should be for its "age" (ref all the "cute" stuff it does)? 2) Why does Cliff have a C-section, why is he so obsessed with "doll tech" (completely different from Sam's BB tech, ref Fragile in the end), what's the "feedback loop" really about (combat beaches), and what's the only explanation he have memories of several wars (ref his end line "can't go get myself killed anymore")? 3) What is it that makes Sam so special? Yeah, his blood, but why? Other DOOM sufferers with repatriation abilities exist too (Higgs), but Sam is truly unique. 4) In the start of the game (incinerator), Sam need BB to "see" BTs, in the start cave he could only "sense" them. When you lose BB for a while during Mountain Knot, Sams DOOMS abilities have been elevated, and he can now "see" them (even if Odradek is not functioning) - no players pick up on this. How? Ref Higgs' letters on this one. 5) How does the return east trip and following sequences near the incinerator in the end play out? BB dies due lack of stillmother on the east coast, to come back at the very end. Something happens between the last two cutscenes that we don't get to see - or maybe we saw it in the opening how this really plays out? Keep in mind the last incinerator cutscene starts out in the Seam - many players notice this but don't see the implications. One thing that *does* bug me though, is that if you die in the opening - say by falling off a cliff - you repatriate using doll tech rather than BB-28 (not obtained yet from Igor), but the actual *sequence* plays out the same. I would think it should play out the same as when the doll tech was installed by Amelie (through space rather than the Seam). So yeah, I know I'm missing something still...

I think Sam's puppet, Fragile's extra hands and doctor's kitty are the kind of personal assistant thing. Maybe a reference to modern AI chat tools. And while the first game was praising connectivity, as in the early internet age, this one may play around its modern dark side - corporations control of chiral stuff, new life emerging from tar (analogy to AI/AGI developments or internet meta-consciousness theories), people don't need to move around - no comments, etc.

Also in DS1 there is a lot of time manipulation in the way the story is told, example Cliff Unger storyline, and the relationship with Amelie. That is why at the end it say edited by Hideo Kojima he is good at this too, making trailers.
