Can we appreciate the fact that cowboy started this series and not only he kept going even when stuff got super weird at the start he got very invested in this world so much that he had a different idea about how the beach gameplay scene should have implemented?? I very much enjoyed watching this evolution at the same level of the gameplay episodes U love to see it

I remember doing this the first time, after the 2nd dialog dump I figured out what was going on, but I think it could have implemented it better. What comes after is worth the pain of going through this imo

This game wraps up the story fairly well in the dialogue.. but a ton of dot connections are made with the interview data you get thru the game

I think Cowboy missed the point of the beach scene tho.. it’s frustrating as a player but it’s intentional. You’re literally stuck on the beach with no way home.

I get it, but i think it crosses the line between artistic vision and gameplay impediment. Above all else games should be fun so an intentionally slow portion thats designed to make you want to just set down the controller feels like a miss to me. If they wanted to portray the hopelessness of being on the beach they could have warped me back to the start after a minute of running and after the third or fourth time trigger to cutscene, having it go on for 30+ minutes just seems wasteful.

@@FightinCowboy I agree in a lot of ways it could have had better implementation. These kinds of elements are where Kojima gets in his own way. He also had frustrating things in the MGS games

@@FightinCowboy ​ 100%, my thoughts when playing this at 2x were somewhere around "This is where people being artists goes from vision to lacking restraint". Like so many great films or classic movies, there's often a section that's way too drawn out and seems like the creator getting a bit too high on themselves. Look man, this is cool, but I don't need to experience you pleasing yourself in a mirror for 30 minutes. You can make the same statement in like 5 minutes without me having to sit through this. In engineering, the best part is no part. If you can get rid of a component with no loss in function of the product, get rid of it.

"Extinction is good for you" - I see Kojima watched Babylon 5 when he was younger. edit: jokes aside, if you need a 40 minute info dump to explain what the hell was going on in your game, then you did a BAD job of making your game. And I say this as someone who has immensely enjoyed watching this series.

There's more to find out, if you want to go to 100% or so. But it's just busy work iirc. And then there's the extra directors cut content. Not sure how much more it adds, I ain't got it. Also, who the fuck are the 5 floaty guys. Are they past EE's?
