I’m from the northeast originally and moved to Florida in 2012. I had a hard time getting in the Christmas spirit surrounded by palm trees and 80 degree weather. Then over the years it dawned on me: it’s not about where you are but who you’re with. I find that by giving to those I love/ care about and spending time with family, I can always feel the holiday spirit. ✨

Thanks to you, I see it is still there to this day! I still use the phrase Art used "Where things go Pahrump in the night" (I think his wife came up with that) whenever someone mentions Pahrump, Nv. The South end of town has more people decorating with lights. Art Bell lived pretty close to the brothels. He was an avid amature radio operator, so look for radio towers on the West side of Homestead Rd. I don't believe the radio towers were used for his show. His show was nation wide, so it would take many different locations to broadcast from.

You know what Wonder Hussy, it's not just a Pahrump thing either. I've noticed that in my neighborhood and town people have really scaled back their Christmas decorations. Seeing that was probably the only reason I put mine up, since i was late getting it up due to the weather. Any way Merry Christmas. My parents moved from Ohio to Pahrump and lived there for almost 10 years before returning. My wife and I fell in love with the desert and Death Valley and the Tecopa area. Hence... my love for your videos. We have been back twice since the folks moved home and I am always longing for my next encounter with the Mojave. It feels like home. Merry Christmas! Here in the Netherlands, fireworks can only be sold to the general public between christmas and new year's eve, and they will light it to celebrate the new year. So you won't find any dedicated fireworks stores here (it is a side activity for hardware stores and garden centers, for example) and there is no 60% off at this time 🙂 At other times, like on our national holiday, fireworks displays are only organized by professionals.
