I feel like some of the reviewers are definitely under selling funerals. This was awesome from a storytelling standpoint. This is game changing.

I have observed that many players and reviewers add too many tasks to the event. My experience from playing with (the updated) weddings is that less is better, and leaves room for gameplay, storytelling, and sims to connect and support each other through grief

@@MarleyTheSimmer I found that to be true the less tasks the better wedding events turn out even when the pack first came out. It is almost like I was stressing my sims out. I cannot for this pack to release it looks really great.

You know what is odd. Oct 26th... tomorrow. It will be one year to the day that I lost my mans in death. And this... is actually helping sooth me oddly... Why has the Sims been free therapy over the years.? 😅 This may seem lame or whatever... but in grief, laughter helps.

i definitely understand what you’re saying but it’s the sims - a big part of the game has always been death. you’re 100% valid for getting triggered but it isn’t other people’s responsibility. it’s a life & death pack. pls keep that in mind. others aren’t being insensitive, it’s just smth that is assumed will be talked ab w the sims and especially w this pack

Im glad that you watch cosy family playthroughs of this game, and incredibly sorry for your loss. However, I agree with the above responses that the pack content is clear in its name; it heavily features death. The point of The Sims franchise is that anybody can create any story. So whilst you’re here on the cosy family section of this game, there are players who choose different styles, intentionally chaotic like Steph0sims or Dr Gluon, or a mixture of cosy and planned chaos like James Turner or Deligracy. It should not be their responsibility to shield you from the reality of unique experiences in this game, which is a simulation of life. The name of the pack should be a warning enough that you may be triggered by what you see, especially if your loss was recent. Again, my condolences and I hope you have all the support you need to adjust to this new reality. It can’t be easy and I sympathise. ❤

I work with various people (archaeologists, historic preservationists, communities) to ensure that cemeteries around the state of FL are registered on the state's historical and cultural resource databases. We visit cemetery sites and help with grants to restore historic and abandoned cemeteries. We also participate in public events, educational programs, research, cemetery cleanups, and restoration projects. A lot of community-based work. We do so much more, but that's the gist. :)

I just realised how cool it would be if unplayable ghosts could posess other alive sims! They could get the posessed emotion similar to strangerville and they would move strangely while the posession is active you couldn’t control your sim only to try to snap out from it! Posession would cost a lot of ghost energy and could be a main goal for ghosts! (If good ghost posess you skills should lvl up faster, if evil then they are lowering your sims need and raising theirs) I think it would be such a spooky and scary addiction

There's actually alot of stuff for normal simmers in the occult packs, especially when it comes to builds. I mean technically celebrities are an occult too and that had an entire career attached. I think proper intergation with occults theme wise gives all players the best of both, instead or realism players only getting background/limited use features and occult players getting worlds with one lot to do anything on without having to rebuild the entire joint.

I play on long, so elders get 56 (is that right) days. I think my current elder is about 2 and a half weeks in. But I play hard (probably too hard for a grown a$$ woman with a full time job, especially on weekends) anyways when he does go, he will leave behind lots of kids and grand kids. But hopefully he lasts until next Wednesday IRL so I can play this out on Thursday. Also, I plan to turn a lot I already have with a fake funeral home and now a graveyard into the graveyard (I downloaded it from the gallery and it usess the caskets from Vampires) well right now I have it set to museum so I can have a black and white bash and have my fake funeral. Anyway I look forward to my real funeral. And if my current sim doesn't last until Wednesday, his spouse will. I know this was rambling, but I do look forward to this pack and I hope things work the way I want them to.

So good, Oshin! Thanks for this let's play. I'm curious to know... If the deceased sim is the only one (left) in the household, who can plan their funeral? Can any sim in any world do it? Also, if you click on an old headstone from previous Sims packs, would we get this Life and Death's pie menu options?!

Yes headstones are updated so you should see the new interactions on them if you’ve updated your game as well! I thiiiiiink any sim can throw it as as they have a relationship with the sim , because you can throw funerals at any time! Hopefully I remember to test this out - that’s a great question!

21:05 you can also drag a photo you have into that frame. You can also put the urn into the coffin btw

I'm glad there's stuff realism players will enjoy here but frankly I'm here for the Occult Shenanigans because we've had several realism packs that just haven't been remotely fun. I get why everyone wants that stuff but to me it's either background things that improve the game behind the scenes or just straight up features I won't touch after the first play through. I'll admit it - I'm looking for something to give me the gameplay bang for my buck the way werewolves did. It's not just occults I like I do love Get to Work & Eco Life as they introduced things that where engaging but everything people leep asking for isn't quite gameplay....it's more background features getting mistaken as such and I think that's why people are feeling let down. They're great to have but they don't add much unlike adding Celebrities, on site jobs/tasks and occults tend to do. Like laundry.... it's not gameplay😅 I'd rather more planets for my astronauts sims to physically touch down on... or bring back luna lakes in a futuristic/scifi/cyberpunk pack. There's so much you can do with that theme - ditto with fairies & fey folk magic & zombies (with option to isolate them into one neighbourhood of course - I loved them in 3 but were aware many absolutely didn't) all with adding stuff for those who do like normality in the way life & death is giving us funerals & two careers. (I can see with a cyberpunk setting some new careers maybe one playable one rabbit hole, ditto with fairies - normal sims could get something like an occult warden career that has them keeping the peace ect) I'd like to see balance in gameplay for both rather than getting realistic stuff & it's background / one use features.

I have two save files and one of them has a son. The other couple is expecting a daughter. The second file is occult(witch and werewolf respectively) and the first household is mortal :) Can't wait to go through this pack with both families!

So glad to see your review/gameplay was hoping you would be able to do one. I watched Deli's yesterday and hers was good too. What I like is how you breakdown is the useful game play items of the new pack and how to use them. Good thing Barry did not get Nancy Landgraab for his attorney those Landgraabs are pretty shifty probably skimming off the top. 😗 The funeral turned out great much better than I expected, I was holding my breath. I think the Sims team did a great job with this pack the CAS is really pretty and so is the build buy. Your sim family is really lovely cannot wait to see what this pack holds. My Husband passed away earlier this year and I agree grief is love and I am glad they have the option for a married couple to stayed married after their partner has passed. I never played with death in my sims game meaning Let my sims die but maybe that will change with the pack .

I don’t play with ghosts but I’m really keen to get this pack for the funerals and wills (plus all the beautiful BB content). I want my game to be as realistic as possible. When a Sim dies, is there an option to not become a ghost at all?

Maybe oshin will talk about this in her next video. The free roaming ghost is like the "old way" they pop by from time to time. They stay longer if you keep their connection to the physical world strong. You can release their spirit (like before) and they will no longer exist in the world. Btw there is a sign that will prevent ghost from your lot

No, sims respond differently now. It’s in the latch iodate notes. Prior to the base update released this week, every sim would mourn over your sim 😮

The evil sim or enemies one, yes, but there is more variety now. Not sure if it came with the patch or LND but you can also click on the dying sim (with your active sim) and choose their reaction

Damn damn . Lovestroke and for rent was so mediocre to me after the first week of gameplay. That i lost excitement for the 2 new kits and the life/death expansion pack. But this look like a solid B /B+ . I have everything except 2 kits i might as well get life/death plus mister grim been a roommate of my main sims for the longest.
