Personally, I feel that the best opponent for Geralt is Talion/Celebrimbor from the Shadow of Mordor series. They both have very similar skills, and Geralt probably wouldn't find it to be very different from fighting an actual wraith in the Witcher universe, just that this one inhabits another living being.

I always found the power scaling in the Mordor games to be rather odd. Talion is as strong as a Nazgul, but the Nazgul in the films (I never read the books, sadly) don’t seem to be as powerful as Talion. At least the Nazgul are about as strong as him within the context of the second game, but still, I don’t think any of them should be that powerful. I never got the impression that they should be able to do things like teleport (the Nazgul ride beasts for a reason) or make weapons out of magic (the Morgul blades are very much corporeal weapons imbued with magic but aren’t in themselves made of magic).

I'm not very good at power scaling, but even if Talion would have the ability to teleport, Geralt has faced wizards and probably ghosts too that could do the same. And I feel that since Talion is bonded to a wraith, Elf or not, the oils and the Yrden sign that Geralt has at his disposal would definitely do something against Celebrimbor himself. In the Witcher 3, wraiths within the Yrden sign become corporeal and can be destroyed by Geralt's silver sword, especially when it's coated in the specific anti-spirit oil. By tricking Talion into entering a Yrden trap or creating it around him, Geralt could likely separate the two, giving Celebrimbor a corporeal form as Talion is left to bleed out without the wraith to keep him alive. Now you may wonder "how would he know to apply the oil beforehand if he doesn't even know that Talion has a wraith possessing him?" Talion is known as the Gravewalker for a reason, always coming back from death. Let's say that, for the purposes of the story before the fight itself, Geralt was likely tossed through a portal into the LOTR universe, like in Monster Hunter World. He gets almost immediately attacked by an Uruk captain that serves Talion, but that captain gets wrecked from being ignited by Igni and having his sword arm sliced off. Before killing the Uruk, he tells Geralt of the Gravewalker, that he can't ever die and won't ever stop until the Witcher is dead. Believing this Gravewalker to be either a necromancer or a wraith, Geralt prepares his silver sword with the appropriate oils, just before Talion comes along and finds Geralt over the body of the captain he needed to betray his warchief, their fight ensuing. Whatever the case, I just think that Talion, a wraith possessed warrior banished from death, would make a far more interesting opponent for Geralt than Trevor, who's really just another human but with a metal whip.

I think Geralt being a Witcher would probably have more of an advantage over Talion. Maybe a better opponent for Talion would be Malus Darkblade from Warhammer who is a Dark Elf possessed by a demon spirit.

@@Crimson_Sun2486 I concur. Don’t mind me from earlier; it was more of a ramble than anything. I get that the Mordor games are meant to be like RPGs with customizable gear, level-ups, and earned power ups, but to frame it in the world of LotR felt off to me, that’s all. Although on the flipside for Geralt, I’ve been told that book-Geralt is far weaker than game-Geralt for more or less the same reasons as with movie-Nazguls vs game-Nazguls. Anyway, I completely agree with your analysis. Assuming that Geralt’s blade oils and potions work as effectively in Talion’s game as they do in his, Geralt probably stomps, and his vast experience in monster hunting should mean he is very good at adapting to new opponents with similar abilities he’s seen before.

Considering he can unleash an army of Trolls and Orcs at Geralt, some of which have immunity to physical and condition attacks, Geralt gets overwhelmed. Even Branded by Celebrimbor, which Geralt cannot exactly beat since this is the same Elf who actually defeated Sauron in 1v1 combat.......... So, think about it for a sec Celebrimbor actually dueled and bested Middle Earth's Biggest Threat in a Duel. How does Geralt stack up to that? Gunter O'Dimm? Well Geralt beat him through mind games and riddles but he never killed O'Dimm in combat. Talion wins

Geralt does have *that* level of mind control. That’s literally what all of the axii dialog options are. He never uses axii to make someone kill themselves(at least not that I ran into, I play a decently good Geralt), but he very much has the power to do so.

Geralt vs Trevor needs to feel like Sam and snake and the power of Dante vs Bayonetta. Love both of these characters so much. I think Trevor has a better kit and is an excellent killer in his own right but still very much human despite the scaling. He also realistically operates in a team setting when he picks up monster hunting again with Alucard and syfa*. Where his specialty is providing general knowledge and weaponry that can counter the enemy but based on his lore is a drunk that's out of practice and needs to research study and prepare the same way Geralt does. All this to say his team makes up for a lot of his flaws in the show, like his kit does in the games. Geralt on the other hand has a more generalized kit that allows for versatility. His kit changes depending on targets but usually consists of sword, knifes, cross bows, chains, bombs, potions, and signs, but he is in fact not human. Geralt on hunts is a professional and well practiced, with well over 100 years of experience on Trevor. Usually operating alone 🤷‍♂️. Trying to not be too biased either way. Trevor's time stuff doesn't have an effective answer for Geralt and Geralts axie* sign, as far as I can remember, Trevor doesn't have an answer for either. So whoever used this ability first would win. I think in that case Geralt has it just because it's a little faster to come out inherently with the speed in addition to that, and he uses it fairly often especially on humans. I think Trevor would underestimate him at first or "enjoy" the fight to much with a professional, that or not see it coming because signs can be used easily and often stealthy. BUT take both these off the table and it's Trevor early game assuming he overwhelmed Geralt with his kit and doesn't give him time to adjust. With the advantage going to Geralt the longer the fight goes on, so he has the mid and long fight. Geralt has the speed, healing, kit and experience to make it to mid and long game most of the time. Idk 🤷‍♂️ but make it a gritty hard fought battle that both Geralt and Trevor can enjoy and earn eachothers respect as a "professional curtacy*" and I think it will be one of the best battles in my book

Tbh, Trevor does stand a good chance against Geralt but he gets overwhelmed easily like in the show. When he fought against Alucard, he could easily keep up with him and whip him all he wants until he yanked the whip away letting him go close up fighting, when up close, he still managed to put up a good fight against alucard despite his superior speed and strength, but it can't last forever. I don't know too much about the Witcher, but I'm assuming he'll be able to slice Trevor in half with a single swing or not

You can get away with that for a video game but you can't do that for a show.

Both are incredibly strong and durable being able to take hits from building sized creatures and kill them. 4. Both have fought and killed very skilled opponents but overall the Hunter only really fights three opponents who would be very skilled while Sekiro fights tons. 5. If Sekiro does die he can reassurect at least once.

Definitely not giving Gerelt enough credit. He is more powerful in the books than in the games. He doesn't just make fire, he controls it. He doesn't just have a shield, his shield explodes and stuns people. His mind control can do way more than stun enemies, he can have his enemies do anything he wishes them to. Liam did a good job however his game references didn’t help him. Trevor Belmont isn’t in most of the castlevania games. He is in the 3rd game, (Dracula’s curse) so only the game mechanics from that game would apply. I would wager to say Trevor isn’t even the strongest Belmont. This is something that would come out for sure if it were a real episode. Either way however this would make a phenomenal match up.

@@melvingenao550 the problem is 99% of the Belmont weaponry is only effective against unholy beings. Sure a morning star whip would hurt a normal guy, but far from make them explode. As far as alacard, the Witcher’s have fought much worse. Both franchise have interesting cannon and lore. It’s easy for people to get fan boy excited and forget that.

Yeah I think Geralt needing prep time is BS. Sure Witchers like prep time, just like anyone else. However, Geralt has fought dozens of battles without prep time, survived or thrived. He's also survived againt people who can freeze time like Gaunter O'Dimm. He's also not just a Witcher, he is extra enhanced because he took to the initial trial of the grasses so well. I dont know anything about Trevor. But they could have done a much better job talking about Geralt. They talked a lot about who Trevor has fought, but Geralt has also fought substantial beings. His vampires have a substainal tier system and the higher vampires are indestructible unless killed by their own. Also, simply saying Trevor is a Belmont doesnt mean much to me. If it's a matter of him coming from vampire hunting family that's not very imppresive. The Belmont's started hunting Vampires in the 11th century. Trevor was born in the 1400s. Giving their clan roughly 400 years of experience hunting. Geralts mentor Vesimir is speculated to be upwards or more than 300 years old. So, he isn't giving second-hand knowledge passed down by ancestors. He has personally spent centuries perfecting his technical and tactical proficiencies. I'll watch the Netlfix series on Castlevania and return to this post, but I'm leaning toward Geralt with the info provided about Trevor from this video.

im not huge into the belmont lore, but im assuming as Trevor fights almost exclusively vampires. His weapons would be graded to vampires wouldnt it? i mean, holy fire, this chain he has that uses holy power and fire etc etc. It could still effect humans of course but wouldnt the holy part of it not effect Geralt? He's not evil or satanic. If Geralt is given prep time, his reactions will be faster then even a long whip could move, books support that. He could see in total darkness and his strength and swordsmanship is unmatched by any living being. Geralt is also rather skilled with a silver chain he carries from time to time. Nothing Trevor can do weapon whys that Geralt cant do better or know how to counter. Its also important to note that Geralt is a unique witcher, not just in experience, but also in magical prowess. Geralt was born from a sorceress, which is 'impossible' but it happened. he can do quite powerful magic even for a witcher. I will say Geralt to my knowledge will have trouble dealing with magic against him. He managed to defeat a sorceress, but with the help of another and a magical gadget. sorceress are extremely powerful in witcher lore, much more than Trevor I would think. But Geralt had a ton of help of course, no way he could have done it himself. But Geralt also didnt have prep time to my knowledge for that fight

I’ve been requesting this fight for years. One point I think was missed was that geralt‘s meteorite sword was brought into the fight, but then Trevor was left with his basic whip. I’d say if you give one character their high level gear you have to give it to both. Though I understand this wasn’t a true death battle, looking forward to seeing the real thing one day

Death wasn’t really scaled well all things considered. It felt like Trevor won for the sake of plot and not the fact that he could actually pull it off. Death was a vampire that’s been around since the beginning that fed on death to become Uber powerful. Death was able to freely jump through the corridor on a whim but didn’t really display anything during his fights that showed he was that ridiculous. He kinda just did a few big unga bunga slams and swipes and stood there and took super slow hits. It felt weird the way it was done considering how strong he was.
