I think SSJ4 is one of the coolest and most natural evolutions in the power creep of the series. Returning to oozaru form, maintaining composure, and then going SSJ makes so much sense and gives a logic to why it would be stronger. It also looks so much better than Blue or God, even UI. Goku's character is completely ruined, as they try to make him dumber than he actually is for comedic effect. E.g. Goku vs Monaka (Beerus in a horrible disguise). Another example of this is when Goku somehow doesn't know what kissing is, which is stupid because Chichi is a highly romantical person in early Dragon Ball. There is no way he doesn't know what it is. Power levels are stupid, but it becomes horrendous in Super. Broly transforming into Full Power Super Saiyan should have destroyed the earth, let alone his ki blasts. If you're going to say 'Ki control', that's a fan-made concept made to help the story make sense. Nothing makes sense in Dragon Ball Super, stop making it out to be better than what it actually is. Also, GT Goku is much more powerful than Goku in Dragon Ball Super. If you don't believe me, look at the countless websites full of information. GT Goku single handedly beat both Frieza and Cell in base form. He beat a villain who could destroy the universe and places like Other-world, and the Kaioshin's realm in a single blast. He beat him in SSJ4, which **should** be much weaker than Super Saiyan blue. This puts him well above DBS Goku in base power level. GT Goku in SSJ4 would not be able to beat DBS Goku while he's in Ultra instinct, but if they were both fighting in base, GT Goku would easily beat DBS Goku. Edit: Just to make it clear, the reason why I say that GT Goku's base form is stronger than Super Goku's base is because GT Goku took on a threat near BoG Beerus level and won without a powerful form like Super Saiyan God. If Super's pre-God Ritual *GOGETA* had to fight Omega Shenron with SSJ4, DBS Gogeta would lose.

He skipped SSJ3 in both GT and Super. Despite its confusing name, SSJ4 actually is separate form. They just called it "4" cause it was next form, but it's not really connected to SSJ3 or SSJ2. Watch increased full power ssj4 vs Syn Shenron that bro couldn't touch Goku if he didn't want him to , dodged or countered everything , he thought Goku was doing it by sensing ki so tried a clock tower disc at him without ki and Goku still caught it , all while being blind . Ssj4 has heightened senses and they keep getting better whenever he gets more powerful not just increasing in strength .

The design of SSJ4 just makes so much more sense then the red and blue crap especially when you look at SSJ3 and see the further goku drew power the closer he was reverting to an ape. Even looking at trunks and vegeta's super SSJ form which made them more muscular shows forethought in the design.
