The original video I did on this subject has over 100,00 views! Thank you very much, Friends of Bunjie! You can watch that video here: bit.ly/2KdfKOl
THIS video covers angles using the Bunjie Triangle and also some thoughts on what to do to avoid deer jumping the string.
This is not a channel about shooting big bucks. I don't discriminate--I'll shoot any legal deer. ;)
Death by Bunjie gear on Amazon.com: amzn.to/2PTzgRq
Check out all the gear I use on deathbybunjie.com ! If you buy using the links on that page, you help out Death by Bunjie through an Amazon program that pays us a referral fee. NO EXTRA COST TO YOU, and you get EXACTLY the same product I use here! You can also buy t-shirts and music there, too!
I want to help make KZbin the #1 place for quality hunting entertainment. I want to help spread the hunting lifestyle. To do that, I set up this channel to showcase the crossbow and help others film their hunts and get those videos online. So, subscribe to this channel to be entertained and learn more about crossbows and filming in the outdoors.
This channel is about my love of the crossbow, hunting, and the outdoors. I hunt almost exclusively with the crossbow. I love it. Sure, like a lot of kids, I started hunting with a good ol' Model '94 Winchester 30-30 back in the 80's, but drifted away from hunting when I went off to college, law school, and started a family. As my daughter got older, I regained my interest in the outdoors, and I consider myself lucky to hunt on the same property today that I hunted on as a kid. I got the Excalibur Axiom crossbow in 2010 and I haven't looked back. This channel is the result of combining my interest in filming and hunting...
...and music, too! My related channel, Yankee Militia, showcases my music. Some of the music is hunting-related, so check that out, too! The soundtrack for this channel is provided by my band, so the two are intertwined. The albums "Live Free or Kill" and "Zombies Gotta Eat, Too!" are available on Amazon.com and elsewhere.

Great job Rich. There is so much chatter in forums online these days about taking shots over 30-40 yds with crossbows. It makes me sad to think how many deer are being wounded/lost because of the hype.I was raised like you were, by ethical hunters to dispatch an animal as quickly and humanely as possible to minimize the suffering to any animal. This is just great info for the newbies and all in general.I hope many see your videos and learn to have just as much fun hunting does and the delicious healthy meat they give us.So many people young and old are so entranced on a big set of horns that they are missing out on the real joy of hunting deer.Keep up the good work, there are many out there that want to hunt yet don't have an ethical teacher, but they will by watching your vids.

I've taken two shots at 40 yds one I grazed belly fur and the other one went into my freezer. But it's definitely better the closer it is to you I agree.

That's how it goes sometimes, I have taken two shots on deer straight on from the front, and one I took home and one I did not. Similar, won't do that again.

Hi Rich, Good info. The "Bunjie Triangle" has been used in other videos under a different name. No matter what the triangle is called the location is still the same. Top corner of the shoulder blade, the joint of the shoulder blade and humerus bone, and the top of the humerus bone where it connects to the fore leg bones where the elbow is formed. It looks something like this

Excellent explanation of the triangle shots. Got my first crossbow a few weeks ago, Excalibur GRZ2, shoots very accurately on 3D deer targets. October our deer season for crossbows starts up here in Canada 🇨🇦.

Rich, well done and very informative. I always liked your Bungie Triangle idea, and it of course is where the vitals are located. My bow hunter friends, the successful ones all talk about going for "double lung" shots to be certain of a quick and clean kill. Unfortunately for me as a lifelong gun hunter, I am so used to shooting for the heart, and immediately behind the leg. I've got to start picking the big boiler room for more success!

On your live deer shot at 6:39-6:40, on this video & Aim High-Miss High, the nock end via the lighted nock seems to really fish tail. Also at 8:24-8:26, same fish tailing.

@@Deathbybunjie Will not really. Even with hitting your target, it could be showing a few things, like fletching hitting something leaving your bow, that the arrow has a weaker spline, you could be losing energy on the arrow, which might not be a problem on a broadside shot on deer, but you will have a problem on angle shots, and heaven forbid you hit the shoulder or some other heavy bone in larger animal, you could be up the creek with out a paddle. So IMO no your Lumenok is not just along for the ride, it is telling you something.

Have to really check this out meaning the triangle . Now I have a question for you Rich I watch a lot of you videos but tell me what to do . Don`t know if this is bad or good took my Killer Instinct Ripper out in the yard today set my tripod for my cross bow up shot 5 arrows at 10 yds. all 5 arrows at a different bullseye all arrows was in that 3in circle if not dead center of bullseye . Moved the target back to 20 yrd. tried the 20 yrd. pin too high put the 10yrd pin on it all 5 arrows in the 3 in. circle`s . Moved the target back to 30 yrd. and went to the 30 yrd pin too high put it on 10 yrd pin all 5 arrows in the 3 in circle . In case I lost you from 10 to 30 yrds it is the same pin . Idon`t know whether I should be happy or disappointed . What do you think . Sorry this was so long . Keep up with the good videos .

You're hilarious with your bloopers section of your videos. They're almost more interesting/funny to watch than your videos! Lol! Just kidding. But on a real note I think all deer will jump the string when it hears a loud pop from your CB no matter what. Just like humans will instictively duck when they hear a gun shot even though they don't know if their the ones being shot at or not. I cant say that from experience but it seems like what everyone does in the movies or the news when a person hears a gunshot go off.

Deers are stupid animals. I was driving Uber/Lyft for fun the other day and I was in a rural area. I pass this hill and I spot a Doe to my right and I slow down to make sure she’s not going to run in front of me. I honked and flashed my high beams on and off. Then I pass the deer and apparently it ran right into the side of my car. I did everything I could to avoid this but the deer still ran into my flawless 2017 Camry SE. I will have so much fun just killing one to get revenge! That Doe really dented up the side of my car. I was pissed off.
