I did my fair share of kitbashing trying to make as many omnimechs i could. It takes some creativity for sure and is refreshing albeit pricey to see. I found 3d printing and have since made damn near every variant of omni out there(very pricey, do not recommend) but the IS mechs are where you have to really use the creative juices. Great to see someone taking care and showing an alternative to the easy way out!

This is the first DFA video in a long time I didn't jump into right after it dropped - I'm just not a huge conversion guy. But I'll try, Master Aaron, I'll learn and I'll be doing some conversion.... Thinking about doing a Kit Fox A.

Best part of the hobby! Do you ever magnetize torsos and arms? I mainly work with resin models, and dental floss is the best cutting tool I have found. Magnetic enbedment is so satisfying!
@DeathfromAboveWargaming5 ай бұрын
I have done a fair share of magnet work for sure! I have a 40k titan that Thom and I fully magnetized. I used to ‘mechs but gave up - there were too many haha

Nice work and thanks for the vid! Recently did my first one Stormcrow A , lrm20 donated from a timber wolf and left arm extra lasers from a Nova, ended up cutting the arm off at the elbow and shaved 2/6 lasers off then glued it on, twisted to torso as well for a little different look. Used greenstuff to mould in the 2x srm6's above the cockpit, over the radiator fins on the prime. Still need to paint it but Smoke Jaguar Alpha!

Thanks and I appreciate at the end you tell us how long it took and suggestions on where to go for spare mechs. I may have to become a backer so I can ask DFA which plastic set you all think has a great variety of bits to use for other mechs.
@kevinwojciechowski69825 ай бұрын
Aaron, you can use plastic model glue to soften areas like where you removed the srm6. Head to wraithguard scale models here on KZbin to see what I'm talking about. Plus if you hadn't seen his videos, his almost completely airbrushed battletech mechs are just incredible.

It can not be stated enough to be safe while you are working. Personal Protective Equipment like gloves, glasses and ear protection take a moment to put on and could save you weeks of pain. I kitbash and trashbash myself and I learned the hard lesson when my drillbit snapped, and the 10 seconds it would have taken to put on a glove would have saved me drilling out my thumb and a month of pain. Be safe out there- and have fun - *BUT* be safe first
