Nice to see everybody back. I was finally able to pick up a copy of alpha strike on Friday from my friendly local gamestore. Was really shocked that they had it in stock. Painting up some forces then have to work on getting some scale appropriate terrain. Cheers guys!

That was definitely a close one! Its great to see the 3 of you back together again, so glad you could do it! I have to admit, when I first watched the video where you introduced "Battle Lines" I was not all that thrilled about it. But, after seeing this match (along with Aaron's battle against himself), I have come to really dig the dynamic on this mission type (Kevin - you rock! You need to move to Texas and play here please :P ). I'll definitely be pushing to get Battle Lines worked into the next campaign we play through. We just wrapped up a campaign, so it is great timing to integrate some new mission types. Tom - congrats, well fought!

Great to see you guys back at it, but stay safe out there in these perilous times. I noticed you got rid of the recaps for the turns. I really liked it, especially with 8 on 8 its hard to follow without them, but I imagine it takes a lot longer to add the graphics.

Thanks for this feedback. We had an internal discussion, and you are right - it is more time consuming (and honestly also error prone) to cook up the post-turn recaps. But we also felt the “in-line” damage reporting kept up the action. Still, always good to get perspectives from our viewers! Maybe we will reconsider. 🙂👍

Aaron helping Tom out - it's an conspiracy of the Spheroids against the freedom fighters of the periphery. I guess Aaron used some kind of trick to make Kevin use his dice. Couldn't end well, could it? ;) I really liked how Tom moved part of his 'Mechs back in one turn in anticipation for the battle line moing towards his table edge.

Man I was really cheering for the Redstone Rangers. I used to be a hard core Fed Suns fan but I learned to root for the underdogs. The Taurian Concordat is a big underdog. One last question What regiment and or battalion where the Light Horse mechs from?

I've been a big fan of the Concordat for a while but not because they're underdogs. If you check out the information about the Taurian Concordat you'll find that they have a shockingly large number of mech factories (or at least they did back when I was an avid player). Their production capacity was just short of the Capellan Confederation before they took back the St. Ives Compact and part of the Chaos March. Always made me wonder how the Centrellas were the power players of the periphery.

I’m hoping they have a resurgence post Dark Age, and form a periphery confederation with their splintered independents. They have such potential beyond a token Davion pest. A healthy paranoia is well deserved, but the Davion’s plot armor is too thick for their level of obsession.

Thanks! And yeah we do AS quite a bit - some classic as well, but lately we’ve been on an AS tear. Speed of play and the ability to easily do combined arms is a real pull for us!

Hmmm a thought. For the over run rule. Do you take condition of the unit into consideration? Ei the the Thunderbolt is one pip from Forced Withdrawl and lets say the medium mech was full armour ?

Well we do factor in whether you are in forced withdrawal... but otherwise not. Totally get your point, but it becomes a bit of an algorithm (how much damage could they do? how much armor? speed? crits?) so in that regard we kept it simple for the sake of AS!
