Which makes a lot of sense considering it's their very first track on their very first album release. This is basically their thesis statement for Ex-Military and eventually for their music as a group. I feel a lot of people casually listening to this track and the Manson sample will assume the "Beware" is about the "beast" as the "other" or as the evil, but I don't think the song is necessarily condemning the Manson statement. I think the song is, if not outright agreeing with it, at least aligned with it, and the "Beware" is directed at the listener not for them to be afraid of the "beast" but to be cautious that they may not want to go where the band is taking them. Hence it being the first track. It's a warning shot. "this is who we are and what we are about, proceed at your own risk"

I am legitimately scared of this song. Every time I hear this song I feel like somewhere out there, there is this wierd, horrifying presence. The sampling gets the point of the song immediately out of the way, which adds on to the creep factor, because of the implications of the sample, and the true meaning being truly sinister and evil. And out of nowhere, this absolutely monstrously sized wall of noise jumps out and jumpscares you. It feels like this absolutely huge, horrifying creature emerging from the earth, and it’s intentions for what it does when it has fully emerged are malicious. The lyrics are also incredibly scary, sounding like wierd, demonic scribbling, being read off of a an ancient scroll. It keeps going and going, and it’s on of the scariest songs I’ve heard in awhile.

@@hopnod777 I don't think Exmilitary aged poorly, I take issue with the concept that dubstep didn't age well. These are two idiotic things to compare because Exmilitary is a single album and Dubstep is a subgenre of EDM. It's the horns, the droning ambient synth in the background, the incredibly dark and apocalyptic lyrics, the occasional rising tones and the almost hypnotic chanting of "God is watching" that blends in with the rest of this hellish combination of noises that create a cacophony of hellish darkness and bleak evil.

To pray is to accept defeat ISNT contradictory to Christian beliefs. We surrender that we cannot do shit ourselves so we ask God to help us or to do it.
@chavzone Жыл бұрын
I don't think it's a contradiction. It's two sides of the same coin, it implies God (if he exists) is indeed watching, but he doesn't really give a toss about your prayers, praying is simply an admission that you cannot handle his challenge.
