I'm glad I found this channel, best painter I've seen. The sheer amount of imagination and creative talent in the 40k community (and especially in ork players) is amazing. Thanks for making these videos man

I love these videos. Great information and setup. I would really like to see how you weather your vehicles in a future video.

Thanks! Once all the Orktober vehicles are released I’ll likely film painting and weathering them 😁

Definitely using your method to paint blue from now on. Friggin love it.

Awesome to hear! Let me know how it works out

For splatter effect, I use a Tooth brush rather than the Air brush, similar effect, a bit more control ;) Great work BTW, Keep it up. :)

A small tip on how to make small dots/splatter with the airbrush. Pull the lever all the way back to fill up the needle with paint then press it down to get the airflow going. I use this effect to make stars or just a nice dot effect when i paint with airbrush :D
@QuarterPaint6 жыл бұрын
This is a great tip, Ive tried something like this for stars before too. Hadn't thought of it for minis!

Really nice work - so many DeathSkulls end up with flat looking armour

I'm so impressed with that blue, it's really rich and vibrant. I'd never considered mixing teclis and pallid wych flesh as a highlight, I'm looking forward to trying this now.

I got some of the fw ink to use today. I can see why you use it. I like the consistency when applied but agree it's a little shiny.

Thanks for the tip on how to do heat staining! Just tried it on my genestealer cults tank and it looks sweet

Another amazing video! I followed you awhile back on IG but these videos are taking it to another level! I gotta ask, are you planning to make videos about something other than Boyz? Maybe even Ironjawz perhaps? I like your techniques and would love to see them applied on other minis.
@QuarterPaint6 жыл бұрын
Oh definitely! This was just a little Orktober project to try painting some of the other clans. I don’t currently play AoS so I can’t say I have plans for ironjaws. However some may get converted for my 40k force. Hopefully I should have a variety of content going forward. This channel is a side project, so it’s something that I will build up slowly 👍

I've been trying to figure out how to do a more muted skin tone like the one seen in your thumbnail for awhile now! Don't have an airbush so I'm thinking to start with something like deathworld forest, adding muted camo / skin tones. Any advice on achieving a similar colour palette / tone with a brush?
@stevemiller13455 жыл бұрын
how do they get these pointy and stiff brushes?
@jrmatthee1115 жыл бұрын
when you did that highlight with the airbrush in the beginning of the video, did you use just white paint? Also could you please tell me what kind of brush you're using for the freehand stuff?

I love how you get th blue so bright! I never get it to pop like that. Is is because I use black as a base color?
@QuarterPaint6 жыл бұрын
I prime all my miniatures black, so that probably isn't it. However I do work up to a rather bright highlight, which is what i think gives it that pop. I would suggest taking your edge highlights a notch brighter and seeing how that works out!

How long did it take you to get to where you are today? I recently saw your Eldar warlock on insta and was curious to know what it took for you to reach this level.
@QuarterPaint6 жыл бұрын
Well I’ve been back at the hobby for about two and half years now. However I get in a little bit of painting just about everyday so the hours of practice add up! I’ve come a long way since starting up, but I still have lots to learn
@jaimeminaya46796 жыл бұрын
Quarter Paint that’s awesome, I still have a long way to go myself. Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing what you’ll accomplish in the future!

I will have to convert something up!
@lorenzo22436 жыл бұрын
I don't think you need to convert anything. I think the community would just be interested in seeing how you approach painting a snakebite. There are lots of vids on Goffs, Bad Moons, etc. but very little out there showing color themes on Snakebites.

I'm loving your Ork videos. Can you give some advice on how you control your airbush from over-spraying your already painted areas? Are you using a fine needle or just really good at aim and flow control, or something else? Any info would help, as I d like to try this, but am thinking I would just end up ruing my paint job. Thnx.
@QuarterPaint6 жыл бұрын
Glad you are enjoying the video! I am using a .3mm needle, so its a pretty fine spray. I guess it comes down to practice and control, but I'll definitely do some masking if Im in to much risk of over spraying. Building color very slowly, helps with the control too, just barely pulling back on the trigger and most just using air

Name of the background music?

Its free use music from the film editing program I use. The program is called filmora and the song is called Teardrop Sky. Unfortunately it doesn't list an author

what are the total hours put into this boy
@QuarterPaint6 жыл бұрын
For this mini, just painting anywhere from 6 to 10 hours. I usually paint for an hour or two each night so it gets broken up!
