I'll jump the 'if it makes you feel better' bandwagon by... shooting down everyone's killstreak rewards with a launcher/M60E4, just using the M60 and holding down the trigger to mow down everyone, flashbang spams, mental USAS-12 and AA12 rushes to Buzzkill everyone, AUAV and EMP spam, Riot Shield/Throwing Knife/Quickdraw Pro combo to catch people off guard, Barrett .50 cal used with pinpoint precision and close up, sprayed like hell, and what have you not.

Spite, Martyrdom was added to the game in a fit of spite. Nothing was more satisfying than only just missing out on a kill and then having the person die anyway. Most of all, nothing was better than having a last stand beside you, knowing that they are screwed.

I had a Last Stand thing I used to do in MW2 that people really hated. It was awesome, I used the perk Last Stand and equipped a throwing knife. As soon as I got shot I would launch my knife in the general area I was shot from. Most of the time I'd get the kill. Even more fun when I was shot from close range because ppl sometimes didn't know why they died too pretty much instantly. It was so much fun... And still is.

I can sort of see the logic. Yeah you can throw yourself off a building a few times and get more health, but it's still 10 seconds and doesn't do anything significant to contribute to the match. The only way to benefit from them is to die naturally, since dying on purpose would be counterproductive. If you're a new player, go for it. If you look on the wiki, it explicitly states that "their effectiveness is limited in order to discourage players from intentionally dying in streaks to activate them", so there has been a lot of thought put into how they work and if they're well balanced.
