D2 kitbots are so durable I'm convinced they intentionally left the wheels exposed to give opponents a fighting chance. That, and to sell more wheels

They left em exposed in order to make them durable as gaurds that dont just feed into your wheels take up a lot of weight

Really enjoying these uploads. Feisty little bots! I was wondering - the heavyweights seem to be unlimited as regards budget, but do these smaller classes have a price limit as well as a weight limit, or can you spend whatever you can afford? My early fighting robots here in England (1989) were built from whatever was lying around; they had a 100 lb weight limit and a £100 maximum budget. Cheap, basic, brutal, but great fun. I doubt if you'd even get a motor and speed controller for £100 these days! :-)

No normal weight classes have a budget limit. It’s very common for cheap bots to beat pricey ones. Exotic materials and CNC machining can give you an advantage but if they are not properly utilized a UHMW bot made with a hacksaw and drill press can still win.

I knew she was going to push me into the pit so I thought to spin up the blade to try to launch myself out of there. I should have turned it on a lot earlier to try to use the torque to get Debacle off of her wedge.
