It's been officially confirmed that the Commonwealth Games will return to Glasgow in 2026. A rescue deal for the multi-sport event was put together after the original Australian hosts pulled out due to spiralling costs. The Glasgow Games' organisers have stressed that their cut-price plan can be delivered with no cost to the public purse.
We discussed what we can expect from the event with the sportswriter Susan Egelstaff who won two Commonwealth Games medals for Scotland and Professor Gayle McPherson, who was on the bid committee for the Glasgow 2014 Games and acted as an independent advisor for the bid this time around.
