Only issue I had with this back and forth was Glenn saying we need to move on from 2016. When we haven't even addressed what really happened with the DNC, media, and Clinton campaign being in clear collusion. All we have done is watch everyone in power avoid this very legitimate set of issues with clear election meddling done here domestically.

He has replaced the word terror with danger but the message of scare we need the military complex is the same.

Glenn is a great talker, and great reporter, but I think you read Joe Cirincione incorrectly. He is the legacy of 64 years of bitter confrontation with "insane" regimes in North Korea, the Soviets / then Russian lunatics like dictator Putin. Glenn forgets the murder, of expansionist proxy wars that have been killing Americans for decades. I was nearly a victim of that murder. Certainly American diplomacy, backed by constant threats of force has created some serious problems, but these people we're dealing with are "COMPLETELY INSANE". There is no negotiating with Putin! There is no negotiating with KIm Jon Un. They have no sense of "enough", no sense of "fairness", no sense of "mutual benefit", no sense of decency, or compassion of any kind , no sense of morality of any kind even the most metaphorical morality is completely foreign to them. They only know "power" "domination", "ego", "control", and "bling", lots, and lots of bling. I've been following, and participating in this business for nearly 45 years. Glenn has a lot of smart things to say, but he' got his head up his ass on this one.
@ewalker10576 жыл бұрын
Many, especially those from that time, see the War in Korea as same as the War in Vietnam. They were not the lunatics. They were invaded by the newly forming international warmonger (cold and/or hot)

Russia hasn't been considered a U.S. enemy since 1991 when the Soviet Union broke up and the Cold War ended. Cirincione might consider the fact, but I doubt it, that Crimea used to be part of Russia and is home to ethnic Russians who have lived there forever and are on Putin's side in this dispute. @coleenparsons49056 жыл бұрын
William Jones - I hope you come out on August 7th regardless. I also hope that there's been additional security measures being quietly implemented. Now more than ever we must vote and hold our elected officials accountable. Like other states, Michigan has so many great things to support on this year's November ballot. I choose to remain confident that our votes do count and 2016 was a necessary evil to create positive change. Elizabeth Singleton - I feel your pain. I choose to believe that whatever the DNC did to Bernie is being corrected, too. Probably naive, but it seems to be more helpful than stewing in my own juices about something I need a time machine to change. Speaking of time machines, I wonder if campaign funds were used to make/purchase one and that's how we're here now. Not sure which side yet. Did I mention one of the things that will be on the MI ballot in November is the legalization of cannabis?

I generally think that Glen's views have validity, but his comparison between Obama and Trump and how Trump is more forceful than Obama, is pretty laughable. Obama was trying to repair relations, but situation changed with Russia's intervention into Crimea and Ukraine, plus all the election interfering in US and Europe. Besides it is rather bizarre for one to have an extremely very aggressive policy on Russia and then gush all over about Putin/Russia at the same time. More reasonable is if the aggressive policy is coming from the pentagon, NSA and CIA and not Trump. Besides he never reads and can't logically rebut an argument. He will probably cave than look stupid and/or guilty.

In what way were the demonstrations in Syria in 2010 violent? Please educate me. Was it when the first 100's had been killed by army snipers? Or when the shellings began? To answer your question: If they are cunts, they would. If they are an illegitimate government, but with a shred of decency and humanity, then no. Case in point: Tunisia, South Africa, Poland, Turkey, Czech Rep., Zimbabew etc... Please tell me you're a russian troll. Or just an average American. Because no one else can be writing comments that intensely deprived of historical context and factual events.
