Potter should take the job if offered. Worst case he'll make enough to not need another job, but if he fails he can say well look at who else has failed there. As a liverppol fan im honestly sitting here laughing while saying yea he should keep the job, but if i was to answer seriously then of course he should be sacked. He should have been gone last year. He has been in the job for 2 and a half years now with absolutely no progress. He has spent 100s of millions on players that he knows and still uses the excuse that he cant use his style of play with the players he has, Which is absolutely ridicolous. We have seen slot come in and in about 3 games showcase his style of play and even ange at spurs came in and in a similar timeframe showed his style. Bald hag then just scapegoats a player a season (ronaldo and sancho) and blames it all on them even though its his fault. Hes an awful manager with no ideas.
@sage_32643 ай бұрын
The amount of money does not matter because no matter how much he's spent when he came in, he was not allowed to sell the players that does not fit his system. Players that, mind you have been in the teams of the past failed managers because even with the new ownership, the Glazers still own majority of the club and they see the club as a PR project and are not interested in winning titles. People are always saying when new players sign to United they play good in the beginning and just lose form and I think that stems from well established players in that dressing room not respecting the shirt they play for and setting a bad example for the newer players. It is also very unfair to compare Slot and Ten Hag because Slot inherited a well oiled machine at Liverpool where as United's situation is in a far more dire state. I honestly don't even care if they sack him because when that new manger shows up he's still gonna be stuck with the problems that the last 5+ managers had before him and you'll just spout out the same nonsense that the press will release next time. I just think its stupid to scrap what he's built after 2 years because we spent all that money on players that fit his system and if you want to admit it or not he has produced results when the pressure was high. That alone showcases that he's not " an awful manager with no Ideas". Reading your takes just shows you get all your information from comment sections and Press headlines, please do your research before speaking out of your ass about another club.
@YourDestinyGuide3 ай бұрын
@@sage_3264 Every single point i just made is a literal fact? so how am i spouting nonsense? Has he spent 100s of millions on players? yes. Has ten hag himself said he cant implement a style of play because of the players? yes, Even though he has a mixture of great youth players and experienced players. Managers in the lower league can form a style of play with what they have but he cant with that squad? I also gave a ange tottenham comparison, where he showed his style within a few games and many other managers not even with the squad have done the same. Ten hag hasnt shown one in two years. Did ten hag scapegoat ronaldo and say every failure was on him? yes. Did he do the same with sancho? yes. The last point of mine is an opinion sure, but to me when a manager has shown no style or no change of play or literally anything in 2 fucking years then yes imo he is out of ideas and to me is a bad manager to make style excuses and every other point i just made with a squad like that. So apart from my opinion on the last point please tell me where i spouted bullshit. Also apart from 2 cups that he loves to bring up please tell me where he has clutched? or what he has built in his time? The club is no better off than when he got there and if u call finishing 8th and currently being 14th as clutch then god damn united standards have dropped.
@sage_32643 ай бұрын
@@YourDestinyGuide Right, lets get this Ronaldo and Sancho BS straight. Show me, in quotes, where Ten Hag blames every single failure on Ronaldo. CR simply did not fit the system ETH wanted to play. Yes he scored goals, yes he had a great relationship with the dressing room but the way he conducted himself his time at the club was unacceptable. Lashing out when he got subbed off/when he didn't start/walking off the pitch while the game was on etc. Even I understand why he felt the way he did coming from the Fergie era and seeing how the club is run now, but that still doesn't excuse the way he undermined the manager. What kind of example is that setting to the younger players in the dressing room? He was understandably angry but they way he went about it was completely wrong. Fact of the matter is if it where any other manger and player, the situation would've blown over in a week but because of the caliber of player and club you expect special treatment. ETH made a statement when he left Sancho out of the squad after playing him for the majority of games in preseason. He set a standard that he upheld all his players too and instead of accepting that he was not in form and working harder, Sancho decided to play victim and turn his back on the manager. There in lies the problem at United, players that think they're bigger than the shirt they play for. Do you seriously think someone can thrive in this environment? Every time ETH tried to develop values, standards and style of play within the club he is stabbed in the back by the players and let down by the club. That's why your silly little comparisons to other managers and clubs HAVE NO VALUE because even in lower leagues the manager is still allowed to buy and sell ANY of the players HE WANTS and is backed by the club 100%. Imagine you're building a car, buying every correct part and someone comes along and tells you "Run it with a Moped engine" to you think you're gonna make it out the driveway? This is the Premier league if 1 player does not fit the system the whole team is fucked, that's why it is so important for a manager starting a new project to have complete freedom. "Where else has he clutched?" Literally last week drawing against Porto and Villa with his job on the line, 10 men and no proper LB on the pitch in both fucking games, with 2 different styles of play mind you, after having the worst performance I've seen from a United side the week before. Does the man need to turn water into wine before you give him his flowers ffs? The team does not have a distinctive style of play because HE DOES NOT HAVE THE SQUAD HE WANTS, that's why our style of play changes every 2 - 3 games to cater to our glaring weaknesses every week. The Manager alone is not going to make us play title contending football because it is not the only factor in play, so why sack him now in the middle of the season, having no quality candidates and having already invested into his team just to scrap it and give the mess to the next manager? You'll be saying the same shit about the next manger in a years time if they decide to sack baldy anyway so idk why I'm wasting my time. It's true what they say - Hated, Adored, never Ignored.
@YourDestinyGuide3 ай бұрын
@@sage_3264 You know what im not even getting further into the ronaldo and sancho shit because its pointless. I do honestly find it quite funny though that the examples you have just given me for him clutching is a 3-3 draw to porto in which u were up 2-0? also a boring ass 0-0 with aston villa. Like come the hell on man. You're man utd, you shouldnt be happy with draws and being 14th in the bloody league and still defending the guy like he's doing well. Also for more than half the time he has been there you guys havent even had a sporting director? So he was probably the one controlling most of if not all of the transfers, which in my opinion is pretty apparent and likely with the amount of players from the dutch league or players he has worked with in the past coming to the club. So to me i really dont understand how he cant create a style for his team when it seems like from an outside perspective he has gotten alot of the players he has asked for. I understand where you're coming from with the why sack him now stuff because the windows gone, hes bought more players and now the season has started. He should have been sacked in the summer if at any point to give that new manager a window to buy his players etc. Imo though i would still sack him and just start that change as soon as possible. This season realistically for you guys unless something drastic happens is just gonna be another mid table finish again anyways so why waste that time? Change it now and start fresh as soon as possible and then hopefully you guys get a manager in that steadies the ship and then starts to progress a little because currently i cannot see any progress being made under ten hag. Answer me genuinely. Can u see any progress currently being made at manchester united?
@sage_32643 ай бұрын
@@YourDestinyGuide I literally just explained the same points you are bringing up in my earlier reply. The players he wants to use won't work in the system because there are still players in that team that can't play the style of play he wants to implement. Even if he has full a starting 11 of players that he wants to work with he is still going to be forced to use the players that just can't play the system because of injuries, form, squad rotation etc. so saying he got some of the players he wanted means nothing. Just cause we don't have a sporting director doesn't mean that Ten Hag is in charge of the transfers, he consults with his advisors gives a list to the board and they decide who they want to buy, that's why he still only has SOME of the players he needs. Also you're not acknowledging or challenging the multiple other reasons Iisted as to why he is "failing" at United and you're again bringing it back to "Well he has some of the players so why isn't he producing results?", when I explained why. Maybe start listing off some answers to those problems instead of just targeting the manager. I know where you stand on the manager but if you're so qualified to speak on United please explain how we fix those problems with the new manager coming in? We can't start from scratch BECAUSE THE MANAGER WILL NOT HAVE THE FREEDOM TO DO SO, JUST LIKE THE MANAGER BEFORE HIM AND THE ONE BEFORE THAT. Last summer we kept Ten Hag because there where no good options to replace him with and we didn't have the money to get an "Elite manager" from a different club. Please tell me how has that situation changed from last summer to now? All that "You're United, you should have higher standards" bs is so stupid because we haven't been the great Manchester United since Fergie left. That's the reality. As far as Ten Hags progress it's far more than results, he is trying to restore the identity back into United but he doesn't truly understand what that is yet and that will only come with time. He has also brought in and developed a squad of young players into the first team. Maybe he isn't the man for the Job as far as winning titles is concerned but he's a step we have to take if we really want to start healing the club because he is trying to put back the pride in the badge of the shirts these players play for and that's something people that aren't United fans can't see. That's why I advise you to do your research.

Be patient, stop looking for a quick fix. Any manager would struggle with the current state of the club. There are many small but important details we as fans don't have access to (locker room tension for example). Add the pressure and nonsense from the media (including fan channels) in there as a factor that feeds the fans' impatience. EtH is a stoic figure and he warned the fans that the team was not ready. I personally still back Erik 100% because he has shown glimpses of tactical brilliance working with bratty and spoiled players. Remember SAF took some years to get rolling. He was a once in a lifetime manager, but if he was sacked in his first years at United, we would have never considered him a genius. Only time will tell, but I hope Erik turns things around by the end of the season and gives us some new magical moments to hang on to.

If United lose the next 2 games: home to a flying Brentford team and away to West Ham - both of which are possible - United could be in 16th/17th position. Their stats would be: Played 9, Won 2, Drawn 2, LOST 5! At this point, any unemployed manager (Tuchel, Xavi, Allegri, Sérgio Conceição, Potter (NOT Southgate) would be better than 10Hag. Are we going to bin another EPL campaign? Lose the chance of CL football for another year, and the £50 million-ish that comes with it? Are we going to be in a relegation fight; from what i see a lot of the teams around us are playing like teams and are better than us. If you have gangrene in your foot, you don't leave it to see if it will get better on its own; you know it won't. You cut off the foot to save the leg, and the body. Well, maybe this analogy is hyperbolic, but JUST GET RID!

I think there needs to be more criticism of the players. There has been times when Ten Hag gets his tactics wrong 100% however we keep going thru the same shit every 2-3 years. A new mangaer comes in players start good then a few months later they don't preform well and the cycle repeats itself. In Ten Hag's first season he over achieved, second season we had endless injuries and played horrendously. This season there has been glimspes of what we can do but we aren't scoring goals. I think we should give him til Christmas if we haven't improved by then he's got to go.

Some may think it's odd, but I'd say if you've won one of the top leagues, I'd have your CV higher than someone with a Champions league under their belt. You get found out over a league season. You can get lucky in a cup comp.

A poor draw against Villa and he goes from must sack to back for 4 months? Recency bias much?
@bigkubz60033 ай бұрын
As much as United fans want Ten Haag gone, this video nails the issue, what next? The feeling now is identical to Mourinho, and the options are pretty much the same. An Interim Coach who is not an improvement on the current manager but will boost morale at the club for x amount of games, or a gamble on another above average coach, hoping that he will somehow do better? Man United are a mess, and as big of a club as they are, no world class coach will want to undertake the job unless they are desperate.

Just do what Chelsea, Bayern and Liverpool just did. Hire a new good young manager. If it doesn't work then sack him. You don't see Chelsea, Bayern, Liverpool, Barca, juve, complaining that there's no coaches to hire. They just picked the best one they could find and hired him. United are the only club that claim there's no managers available, while every other club just sacks their manager if it's going badly.
@ArthurRoss-r9r3 ай бұрын
I would like to know the logic to keeping him. Two draws this week; one where, yet again, we blew a 2 goal lead and one against a team with injuries and whose squad is stretched due to CL commitments. He was, massively, supported in the summer, again. He has, massively, failed in yet another transfer window. RvN may make caretaker manager but is he an easy choice or the correct choice? Tuchel, Inzaghe, Zidane Potter, Southgate (heaven forbid). Bring back Carrick. Undefeated in his, albeit brief tenure of 3 games. More importantly, has left and honed his skills in Middlesbrough, dealt with a poor start, last season, knows and loves United, played under the greatest manager of all time. I fail to understand why he isn't, at least, in the conversation.

Man united need a complete reset, new players, new manager and a new structure. It’s so tough to say that the manager would fix it all because I think most of the players just aren’t up to the task; but there is this romanticism with man united being warriors because sir Alex could get the best out of players for years. One of the best and now people think it’s the ethos and built into the club; no it was the best manager to ever do it. This is coming from an Arsenal fan fyi

Tuchel can't hack pressure, chelsea was a fluke, new manger vibes, right place, right time. If you're looking for consistency, think about that following season. At the same time, his media temperament is awful. He can't take the critiques or ex-players comments, without it affecting him. Bad performances start as soon as he starts to feel pressurised, case, and point Bayern. This is man united the most pressurising club, no way jose does he last under United.

"Surely, the right man is available if the wrong man is in the job" Ummm...no. That would just mean another wrong man, until the right man is available. Why bring in someone in the interim, if the plan is to oust him when the right man becomes available? You might as well stick to the devil you know. We did the exact same thing with Rangnick after Ole and though not all his fault. He had a worse record than Ole was predicted to have. I fear that if we follow Rory's not so logical take, history will repeat itself.
