The fact that non-believers put together a book to dominate/control non-believers. When said non-believers used the same book to learn how to read and rebel/receive revelation to be free and break the back of bondage, makes me a deeper believer. To God, not man, but to God the Glory! Blessings❤

Dr. Black is telling the whole truth. One thing I've known about some Christians you cannot critique that religion. They take it as a personal affront. They really don't want to address any of the flaws in the church.
@princellasmith7562
@princellasmith7562 10 ай бұрын
There is a difference between addressing the state of the American Christian Church and addressing Christianity itself. A lot of people take their complaints about the state of the church out on the actual religion, and they shouldn't. There is nothing wrong with Jesus. The problem is a lot of His followers. It's almost the equivalent of people who argue against equal rights for black people based on the fact that a number of black people commit crimes. You can't judge the entire black race by what some black people do. You cannot make a case against Christianity itself based on what a few people did to abuse the use of Christianity. The KKK burned crosses in people's yards. That didn't make Jesus wrong. That made the KKK wrong.

@@princellasmith7562Could you address her statement about churches not addressing issues in the church? I have made that mistake! People can be very defensive when it comes to religion. As a deeply spiritual person, I walk my own path with intention. I have NEVER fixed my mouth to chastise another person's relationship with God. I spoke with an amazing elder who had led the most amazing life...through his activism, he became very intertwined with several Black churches over the years. But he had never joined a congregation since he was a boy. He was highly regarded and respected. People came to him for advice, and always listened when he spoke. I never heard him talk about religion specifically. An older woman asked him in front of everyone "Well...I just don't understand why you don't join our flock....is it a loyalty problem?" He didn't even look at her. He says, mainly to the rest of us, "God needs me out here." No further explanation needed. I could tell the words landed, because the woman didn't say another word.

I remember this caller and just shuck my head. I could tell she had never been to a non melanated church. I spent several years with my husband in a white church setting and trust me they never talked about going to hell. I was amazed that they read much more scripture than Black churches during the service but never practiced any of it. Once we went to their home and saw a whole a$$ Nazi shrine(yes they were old Germans). The church died out because they refused to open up to the changing neighborhood. That’s when I realized they had a different agenda that was not for us. Love my KnuFam!

Yo....Nazi shrines after church is WILD!!😳😂 I have attended quite a few different churches. Black church, white church, Black Prosperity type church, church the size of a bedroom, church the size of stadium...Catholic, and I have even attended a Ba' Hai service (which was beautiful, I still had tears in the car...). As with anything in life, the more exposure you have, the more experiences your brain logs, the more PERSPECTIVE you have. I think that perspective is a very important factor if you are seeking any truth, especially spiritual ones.

I have felt as a young person growing up Christian and listening to the interpretations and sermons I would question things I was being taught to do. There was always a reluctance in answering the complicated questions and instead i was just being told to believe in what was said and God is the answer, so it taught me to stop asking questions. I heard listening to Dr. Black for the 1st time some answers to the questions I asked and as a Spiritual Christian I understand I am finding answers in Dr. Black's teaching that are God sent and it's been a long time coming. I am so happy and proud of his teachings and can't wait as my learning opens me as I go through my new journey. I can't thank you enough Professor Hunter and Dr. Black for helping me on this journey.

You are so correct, Karen. For instance, John Allegro was an atheist who did not believe in God, and yet he was a very prominent member of the small team who decided, in the finale, which books were authentic and 'worthy' of insertion into the bible canon and which were considered apocryphal. I believe that this was for the purpose of controlling the narrative (of what the 'dominant' group wanted the masses to believe). It is most unfortunate that many bible believers will not venture outside the bible for historical proof and related information. Most are also not aware that more than 90 books were discovered at the caves of Qumran (among the Dead Sea Scrolls) and yet the 'Christian' bible only consist of 66! Why? What was hidden that we were not to know, such as where Cain got his wife and started a family (since, once he killed Abel, all that was left, according to scripture, was Adam, Eve, and Cain, who was sent away to the land of Nod). Religion, sadly, do not encourage critical thinking ability, and it is most unfortunate that many (especially blacks) do not engage in serious study and intense research, but takes that one person in the pulpit's rendition as 'gospel truth' (unlike the biblical ancient Boreans who carefully examined the scriptures for themselves to see "if these things are so"). Keep up the good work! I love your channel! What did the bible prophet Hosea say? "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge". The Black church, unfortunately, is strong on stirring the EMOTIONS, with extremely little INTELLECTUAL stimulation.

I agree. My friend and I jokingly say white God is so much nicer than black God. We joke but it comes from a real place. There's a lot of fear (being scared of) God that's preached in the black church as opposed to respect, adoration, etc. I can remember being told not to question to question and all the old southern Baptist church sayings/traditions. When I tell you this had me in a chokehold! I was "doing church" for so long. I finally had to break away from all the "you're supposed to do this or that/ legalism". I told God the truth, broke away from those chains and NOW we have a real relationship.

Growing up as a preacher's kid, I am definitely on a different journey than what I grew up on. Religions are difficult for me. My dad preached rapture, mark of the beast, 666, antichrist, etc. He would make it a movie night with screen and film projector. The church would have popcorn and juice and he would show it to the congregation which did include a lot of teenagers and young people. He has different beliefs now but never corrected that information given out. I'm on a different spiritual journey now and my awakening continues. Thanks for this conversation Professor Hunter and Dr. Black. #KnubianLove 😊

This is why I don't refer to those who like to make the claim = "God fearing" people, anymore- instead I say "God loving" because their actions/behavior toward their fellow man/woman will tell the whole story. That direct relationship with the Most High will eventually lead you to the simplicity of just LOVE, but at a higher elevation of it. "Jesus knew the human heart, and that's the REAL TEXT." Right karen we should hear all kinds of thought but the "black church" is kinda a generalization. There are lots of black folks who are Jehovahs WitnessesN seventh day adventist and mormons. Which rarely gets touched on. Not all black folks are evangelicals or catholics. Or in traditional black church. But i agree with Dr. black completely. Dr. black has a right to his opinion, but not a monopoly on the truth. It appeared, as it was expressed as a fact, and I’m not sure it’s a fact that can be supported. I have been a minister at a black Penecostal, black, Christian Methodist, Black southern Baptist, predominantly, white charismatic, and predominantly white southern Baptist church, and it is my experience from my teaching, and my hearing that hell was preached far more in the predominantly white churches, and most definitely the predominantly white denominations. I found the straight black men narrative of the introduction of this program somewhat weird and quite laughable. I listen and enjoy your program quite regularly. Thank you for the dialogue. Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Revelation 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Revelation 18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

@@dynel.dillardbrotha you dropping knowledge. In 2024 I cannt believe with all the resources we have that people don't know the history of the Bible. Or even read the bible! Once you know the truth of how the Bible came together and which books were excluded and altered or included it changed my life. There is a reason why the slave holders pushed Christianity so hard on slaves. And the images of a diety that looks like a white man....the utter insanity of that! I looked at all them angels and biblical figures and not ONE looked like me. The cradle of religion is Africa and the Middle East but they hate us and S*** hole countries???? Nope. How do you believe in the Bible but deny the region these people came from?

Yeah that sounds nice but.... As a black woman that visited a white church before they obviously didn't get that memo. Black people tend to be very welcoming to white people that visit their churches. Unfortunately, it's not always the same the other way around.

Dr. Black, Clark Atlanta University has a gem in you. Pay you to leave Black kids, remove Black Excellence..Whew, thats what I felt when Deion Sanders left JSU for Colorado. They wanted to stop that train of top notched, Black high school football players leaving predatory White institutions behind.

If we are looking for leaders then we are lost. I lead myself. I listen to my ancestors heavenly and earthly, and I still make my own work that only I can do. Healing the people only happens correctly when there is no more pain. Once I publish the #urhealingmanual and the #harmonicvibrational so many will see a little piece of what I've been known and doing to help the people become whole. 💯✨🙏🏾 Great conversation

I appreciate the conversation, christ is a mindset..a consciousness that love conquers all...we focus on his works and not what his works was about...let me ask those...what happened to the years that he disappeared..then appeared again..where did he go?

The caller was correct, he tends to be off often times on Scriptures. Dr. Black should be able to say, he is only expressing his point of view that could very well be wrong. That taking as truth is important. Hearing a differing opinion is great, but it has to be labeled as such. Good comments.

Even in Africa, where Christianity was introduced by colonizers and often imposed over traditional beliefs, many people have come to prioritize the language of the Bible, sometimes even to their own detriment.

Why did I think of Deion Sanders when Dr. Black brought up being offered money to take excellence from Black kids. Essentially, giving up on the building of our community within the community. No shade but I had to sit with that...

I guess you haven't looked at the composition of Sanders teams at Colorado vs. Jackson State - not that much of a difference - he's still serving and directly impacting a significant number of Black kids. Who says Sanders gave us who he is -- There's no secret of who he is -- he's transparent -- But I think the point you're making is how Deion left a Historically Black Institution for a predominantly White Institution. That's a different question and it's his decision to make. Daniel Black leaving Clark Atlanta to go to a PWI is not a comparable comparison to Deion's situation because the professor doesn't have control over the composition of the student body. Deion does.

@@cgrock My thought regarded the latter. I believe you're excusing him leaving an HBCU to go to a PWI because he's still "serving" Black kids. In my opinion, and as an HBCU graduate who also briefly attended a PWI, it is not the same at all. He may be transparent...cool. What does his transparency have to do with the end game in and for the Black community? To cape for him is a bit PR'ish. Also, my thought is not a judgment. However, it does lead to greater conversation which should be the goal within OUR community. No disrespect, but if you're not Black I don't expect you to fully understand why there was/is such disappointment that he left JSU. But if you are, maybe consider our dialogue a bit more deeply. Peace.

We're concerned about representation, yes everyone has their own felt experience, but misrepresentation is a real thing. Some people have the ears of policy makers, and can affect lives, I hope they take the time to listen more.

I agree with Karen, the caller acts as if people do not have the capability to scrutinize what they hear or read for themselves! Since she feels that Dr. Black is misleading people and people can’t think or research for themselves, then what is she really saying about “Christians” (which she claims to be)as a whole. Also she seems to forget that Dr. Black and others are saying this based on what they have heard and experience. I can tell you that yes, the black church especially denominational ones preach heaven or hell! The people who go to these churches ride or die for their leaders and organizations! Non denominations tend to preach another message that isn’t so fire and brimstone! Which is why, they are packed out on Sunday after Sunday!

This discussion reminds me of an epiphany I had. Growing up in a C.O.G.I.C. The old folks used to say you have to make a 100 because 99 1/2 won't. Is God a tyrant or is it that my well meaning ancestors just parroting the voice of the slave master? I mean it really sounds like something a pious slave master would say. Anyway I enjoyed the discussion.
