And therein lies a very serious problem: the voting for "MY best interest" trope. We've all been corraled into this voting "mindset." There are 342 million of us in this country, of which approximately 328 million are of voting age. If you strictly vote "what's in it for me?"... that's ALOT of directions the votes go in, and yes, somebody's going to get disappointed. You simply cannot please everyone. Period. Sometimes, depending on the parties' agendas... you have got to vote with your hand UP 🫸🏽 instead of your hand OUT🫴🏽. Instead of voting for what you can GET out of the deal? You may need to vote instead for what you don't want FORCED UPON YOU. There are alot of cultures that make up this already great nation and no one can have it all! But likewise, you should consider political agendas that are more all-encompassing that equally help our nation as a WHOLE, excluding no one. Sometimes, that means not getting EVERYTHING you want, but alot of what you NEED, and OTHERS will get what they need as well. Don't fall for the vile political agendas that seek to divide the electorate and make everyone retreat to their defensive corners. We need to vote based on what's best for our country as a whole. Inside the "whole" will/should be "some" fixes for all of the country's cultures. Vote in the right people that will enforce the laws and support the constitution for ALL OF US.

Our people (those who're undecided) appear to have a daunting task when it comes to who they should vote for. My message to these uncommitted voters is to wake up and SMELL the smoke coming from the burning kitchen, which, if it goes unchecked, will burn the whole house down!! I dont understand how some of us are not waking up to the truth about the stark differences between the two candidates. Our people, more than others, know we are the ones who will be disproportionately affected. For many of us, this is home. There's nowhere else for us to go. I work with a young black man who absolutely will not be convinced to vote. He's educated and professional, carries himself with the utmost dignity and respect. He's acutely aware of the nation's problems. He just doesn't believe that voting will make a difference. He's already given up on the ability to right this ship through active democracy. Every time we discuss it, I come away feeling more discouraged. But it's important to keep trying. We all owe it to future generations to have the conversation.

I got into politics when the price of candy went up. This was during the Cuban crisis. I couldn't even vote, but I wanted to know why. I had a real candy addiction at the time. October 1962, penny candy went from a handful for a penny to one piece for a penny. You must have a voice in every aspect of your life, I will never sit around and let someone control my life without my voice being heard. Even if it's just my small voice!
