Follow along as Debbie Millman discussed the history of branding-from the Big Bang to the present.
For 20 years, Debbie was the President of Sterling Brands, one of the world’s leading branding consultancies. She arrived there in 1995 when the company was two years old and had 15 employees in one office. Under her leadership, Sterling grew to 150 employees in five offices and she was instrumental in the firm’s acquisition by Omnicom in 2008. Omnicom is one of the world’s largest holding companies. While their she worked on the logo and brand identity for Burger King, Hershey’s, Haagen Dazs, Tropicana, Star Wars, and the No More movement.
Debbie is President Emeritus of AIGA, one of five women to hold the position in the organization’s 100-year history and an AIGA Medalist.

Minor thing: The first visible light can't possibly have been only 380000 years ago. The dinosaurs didn't walk around in complete darkness :-) It was created 380000 years AFTER The Big Bang, so still 13 billion years ago +/-

That actually bugged me too, so I researched it and found that the first visible light was 300,000 years after the big bang, not 300,000 years ago. I'm thinking she just got a bit confused and got nervous.

I thought there was something way off in her math when she said the first visible occurred 380,000 years ago. The stars have been around for billions of years. She read the graph wrong. What she should have said is that visible light occurred 380,000 years after the big bang, not years ago.

She mentioned the iPod isolating us in the US but failed to mention the Sony Walkman doing it before that occurred.

380,000 years after the Big Bang you mean not 380,000 years ago :) , that's why we as graphic designers must not talk about cosmology ...

And perhaps also about the pink pussy hat or whatever that thing is. I mean, it is certainly CERTAINLY not even among the top thousand most recognisable symbols on this planet. Just because its famous in America, doesn't mean it's famous everywhere. It's high time Americans get this simple fact.

I really appreciate her wealth of knowledge about the known history of branding. However, it's sad to think that a smart person, a designer, would think that all this highly complex, organized, symmetrical, colorful, patterned things in nature (as well as ourselves), just exploded or evolved and were not designed by someone.

@Ron Pride you got it right. I'm 2 minutes in and I'm gone. This is nonsense. No need to hear or see any more. She said exploded but can't say how and furthermore when anyone mentions these specific number of years I log out. No way they can know this stuff. She can't teach me anything. The Bible makes way more sense of creation and everything in life. This is all propaganda no surprise about the few comments.

Please, please, please, read science books, learn how to think critically, ask yourself what proof there is that evolution was/is at work and what proof there is of a "grand designer". If such a grand designer/god exists, where did she come from? Who designed her? I would highly recommend learning about evolution, biology and physics, for it may very well help you see things differently.
