You make it look easy. I have five of these chairs in the living room that kittens attracted and they look terrible. I was quoted 156.00$ + taxes and I do the delivery and pickup for each cover that’s times 5. For that I can buy new chairs. Now I have full confidence I can do this. Thank you. Thank you

Hi, Debbie - This video is very old, but it is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for making this video, with all of the excellent, easy-to-follow details. I've been looking at bucket chairs and contemplating how one would look with a lovely roll of fabric I've had sitting in my closet for over a year. Now I'm excited to buy a new chair and transform it, thanks to your great tutorial video! ~Karen :)

It doesn't seem normal for a dog to sit on a chair like he's doing. Is that his normal stance? Would think he'd rather be curled up somewhere...but close to you, since you're his person. Aren't they great!! If only they could talk. on the other hand, that may not be a good idea. lol.

What a lovely choice of fabric. I've had an Ikea one of those waiting in the garage to be covered. for simply ages - I've been putting it off because I'm reluctant to remove the calico to make the pattern. You've just shown that it's really not all that hard, so I suppose I should get onto it ... Your dog is gorgeous btw.
@debbieshore7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Joanne, that was a Laura Ashley fabric. It's not actually that difficult to make the pattern, just time consuming, particularly when you have a dog that like to sit on chairs!

You are brave, I would use a seam ripper. I also would have put tape on the bottom of that chair over that hardware, which is scraping across your floor. Wow, this is much easier than I would have thought. Not too much sewing and it is easy sewing. You video is very well done!! Excellent instructions, excellent audio (which main fail to see the value of) no mumbling, absolutely no missing instructional steps.

my bucket chair had the seat/ cushion area that needed to come out before I could take old fabric off for pattern ! it was much more work! Additionally 2 screws that held seating area down broke off and stubbornly kept it in place when i needed it to come out. Took loooong time to remove screws and finally get to fabric- it is never as easy as the KZbin videos! ;-)

Hi Debbie I've watched your video and have to say you make it look very easy. I have two leather tub chairs that have been scratched by my cats so would like to cover them like you have. margiadmai Hi debbie have the identical chair and the 2 seater settee, have stripped the chair and am ready to get material, you said use 3 meters for the chair, can I ask what width, and also how much would I need if I was to cover the settee, thanks for a really clear and easy instruction video,
@debbieshore10 жыл бұрын
Oh gosh, well my fabric was 60" wide, please allow for pattern repeat, so if there is a large pattern you will need more fabric. Does your settee have two seats? If so,order double the fabric, and it would be useful to be able to order more fabric if you need it... hope that's helpful?

I have done dining chairs but not a bucket chair ...WOW I am so surprised how long doggie sat on the other chair...he must have thought that he could have the bucket chair back shortly if he just waited patiently and YES indeed he got right back on when it was vacated..lol.....so subtle and so funny Debbie.

Hi Debbie and Alfie. Can you please tell me how much fabric the tub chair took to make? You may have said in the video and i've missed it? Many thanks
@debbieshore7 жыл бұрын
I think I used about 3.5 meters for this one, allow more if you need to pattern match...
@fatmameyer81957 жыл бұрын
Debbie Shore hi! I like your video. You used 3.5 meter fabric. It is length. Right? I am wondering what is fabric width. Thank you.
@stopthelies39737 жыл бұрын
Do you suppose if you had a nice chair you liked with a fabric you did not want to use an upholstry shampoo machine on, that you might take the covering off and hand wash it and put it back on?
@debbieshore7 жыл бұрын
That would work, if you were really careful with staples and the like...

What do you do if the cushion is attached to the base?
@debbieshore10 жыл бұрын
Difficult to say without seeing the chair, take note of how the current cover is attached, is it stapled on?
@purpleviolet110 жыл бұрын
debbie shore I think it is stapled on. Thankfully i have two....one that has sun damage so i will use this as the 'spare parts' :) would you have a clip that goes into more complicated upholstery? This one has piping and everything....eeek ;)
@debbieshore10 жыл бұрын
Sorry I don't have another clip... can you take the old cover off to make a template? And piping isn't that difficult, cut your fabric on the bias and keep the stitch line close to the cord. Hope that's a bit of help! Deb
@purpleviolet110 жыл бұрын
Thanks i will give it a go. Like i said your clip made sense and was really well put together in steps. I think i will give it a go because the basics are there. Sorry i cant show you an example, but keep up the good work :-)
