I learned to make bias binding from one of Deb’s earlier videos. I make bias binding by the yard now - that’s how much I use it. THANK YOU!

Hi Debbi, Since watching your Folded Amish Star Trivet tutorial I have been experimenting with hand vs machine stitching. I like the machine look but hand sewing gives you more control to hide things or maneuver a potential crease. You'll be proud to know I've made 8 Trivets; 1 square, 3 hexagon & 4 round ones. They are so addictive my wheels are always turning with ideas & I find using the Elmer's Glue to tack down folds or even binding is very relaxing & mixed up with the sewing & cutting it makes for an exhilarating experience. Hope your Mother's Day was as great as your sewing skills. 🧡💜💛♥️💙💌

I never knew which direction the weft was til this tutorial. I never knew I could fold any part of fabric when cutting bias tape, thank you SO MUCH for this simple yet effective and informative tutorial! Also, thank you also for demonstrating the bias binding tool & explaining the difference between single fold & double fold bias

Hint about pressing bias binding: When making the first, full lengthwise fold*--to press--offset the fold** by 1/8". Then fold in the mirroring raw sides with EQUAL measure: 1/4" to 1/4"; or 1/2" to 1/2"; etc.; however leave the 1/8" lengthwise fold* in an off center condition. The purpose for creating the offset fold** is to accommodate 1/8" extra fabric, on the backside, of which allows a bit more carefree management of fabric to accommodate the finishing topstitch on the topside binding. This also helps if you prefer to hand sew the backside binding. ~ L

As always, an excellent tutorial with so much helpful information. I have used the fold and iron method to make binding but had never seen how to use the bias binding maker. I may have to get myself one. 😄 Thank you so much ❣️

Thank you for the excellent tutorial! I appreciate you explaining the difference between the terms single and double fold. I always found that confusing when I shopped for it. But I do make my own.
