It's not unusual. Biotec companies have usually 0 revenues for years, after that, they might become hundreds of billion dollar companies. The issue is, investors know they are speculating huge risk for huge returns. I don't think any of the dragons are aiming for that.
@michaelbourke89676 жыл бұрын
Totally agree the whole model dragons den has that a company is worth your last 3 years in profit works for some industries but not for others. DD is mainly based on a dragon being the richest stake holder in the company they do not like it when theirs banks or other very wealthy individuals involved. I mean have they ever gone in to a company that has had multiple rounds of investments which certain industries depend on all dragons tend to pull out very quick and can make comments that are quite misleading in certain circumstances in regards to the success that company may have. (I think that is show biz though no one watching wants to hear a fabled DRAGON say great idea but if i invest I will be a small fish amongst these banks and have no influence over the direction of the company) would like to comment not referring to this video just in general

Youd think he'd have to be an idiot.........anyone from the outside can see this is fuckin lunacy..........but I dont think you do have to be an idiot though, people get caught up in their own fantasies, it a bit like how an advance fee scam works, the scammer gets you to invest a TINY amount of money, and then JUST a little bit more......and by the time youve spent 10 grand, well...........Id be foolish not to invest another $200 that the scammer is asking for, if thats all it takes to get my billions. From the outside, everyone else is screaming STOP. But they just dont want to face reality.

Having no sales doesnt really mean anything. Say you invent a cure for cancer and own a patent for it, but havent sold any yet... That would be worth billions. There are plenty of companies making a loss and still being worth tens of millions. Tesla is a prime example.. Isnt it woth billions or something and yet afaik they are making a loss.

No sales aside, this was actually a decent product with a similar revenue system to that of stream just for pubs and bars with their bubbly. Sadly he came across totally wrong and asked for too much money for a small percentage. If he has asked for £80,000 for 20% and gone look guys we've done all this work and just need a final push to get it into production... We give the system away for free and make on going revenue from the cartridge sales... instead he was just rude.

They generally ask for a higher percentage and therefore a lower valuation. it makes you wonder if this were the only way historically to invest in companies, what world would we live in ?
