I have built more than a handful of trucks, hot rods, sand toys, boats, etc in my 64 years. Not all of them made me smile as much as this does. What a heck of a project. Anyone that looks at this and just sees the engine swap is missing a huge chunk of the work. You did more than a "build" here and deserve a ton of credit for it. I recommend checking the injection pump oil pressure and fuel rail pressure while starting and at idle. It does take a bit of turning over to start these and C7 engines (5-8 seconds) but not that long of a start. Injectors won’t fire unless adequate oil pressure and fuel pressure meet the calibration table thresholds for activation. For the transmission, check TPS voltage and actual pins in each connector that attaches to the trans. They can come a little lose while plugged in and cause limp mode issues. To me, sounds like it starting of on takeoff in limp mode. 1st gear is so low that you need brake pedal to just keep it from taking off. Love the build!

My 2004 f150 supercab had a sticker on some sort of security computer or body control module that had the factory door keypad printed on it. I believe that even if the previous owner had changed the code, the factory code should still work. There are some additional party tricks with the keypad, like locking while the engine is running while you run in a store, or only unlocking front doors first, then 2nd row with another button, then pop a trunk with another on different vehicles
@FishFind30002 жыл бұрын
You can pull the code from the computer. They always have a factory code that cannot be changed but you can add extra codes. One thing I always use my keypad for is locking the doors I’d I don’t have my key handy. You don’t need a code to lock the doors. For my 13 f150 just push the last 2 buttons together and it locks.

You are super talented dude. I had a 1996 F350 7.3 with 360K running nothing but a wicked wheel and 4 inch open exhaust and that truck still managed to be peppy and reliable all the while pushing 46 inch military tires on probably 16 inches of lift. I would have loved to have done a swap like this but do not have the where with all to get into something this extensive. Sadly, i traded it for a 2002 Trans Am ws6 with a 6.0 swap so nothing ever came to fruition but I have regret over the entire situation. I really like how the 08-10 dash came out in the truck. Loads of modern touches here that are certainly impressive to say the least.

Those CAT engines might need the glow plugs hot to get a clean start. I remember in the late 90's my bus driver in high school got a new diesel bus, and she was showing it off to some of us. Part of the start up procedure was to turn the key on, wait a few seconds till some dash light went off, and then crank the engine. I forget the reason for this procedure, but I'm guessing it was either so the fuel system could build pressure, or so the glow plugs could heat up.
