Yep. Only wanted to get married for the sex part. Had zero intention on being a full time responsible spouse and Dad, if there’s no wee whackey woo woo time for him…Just expects to be waited on and taken care of like a mother. He’ll do anything to avoid helping out with the kids and household chores in keeping it clean for the sake of the health of his and Deb’s and the kids and most of all, be an involved responsible parent too. I’m 41 and my kids are little, my son is 3 and my second child which is my daughter turns 2 next month and my 3rd child that was born recently on the 7th of this current month, they are a lot of work yes and are very very exhausting and are handful at times and I often do would like a minute to myself as far clear my head goes, but I commit to the fatherly and husband responsibilities anyway so that way my kids know they’re loved and can count on me when they need me most and so my wife can see I’m her husband that loves her that she can come to and talk about anything with me, so that biggest sacred base of marriage stays strong…”Trust” And most of all, the kids are only gonna be so cute just one time. That’s it. Gotta create memories with them while the opportunity is there, after that they’ll grow up in a blink of an eye

Marriage is a partnership of equals, but ray creates inequality by placing himself above his wife in their marriage. That's how he contributes to the family but for him to just give someone 1000 without talking to the wife who handles the bills is not okay. He possibly just made it so they couldn't pay a bill. He should have talked to her because a healthy marriage would communicate and go over the books before giving so much away. This show makes me laugh but no one should follow Ray and Debra's example. They only show toxic behavior of lack of respect, lack of communication, and poor conflict resolution. In real life they would be divorced.

Debra also manages all their finances, so she absolutely should get a say in how they invest their money. Ray tried handling their finances and was so bad at it that he bounced a bunch of checks and had to borrow money from Robert...Then, he lied about all of that and said that Debra had a spending problem. So yes, partners should have equal say in how money is spent/saved/invested.

My wife and I both work, (We don't have kids, but even if we did, we'd still both work) and we discuss all our finances together. Our orientation has nothing to do with the fact that marriage is still an equal partnership with decisions that need to be made jointly. And if one of us didn't work, we'd still discuss financial stuff together, because that's what you do in a marriage.
