Scout Delivers Branch - Evening Solo Visit - NCTC Bald Eagle Nest - September 14, 2024

This footage captures Scout delivering a new branch to the nest. Bella is likely perched nest side just outside of cam view.

The NCTC nest is 21 years old and situated in a sycamore tree, approximately 90 feet up.
The size of the nest is estimated to be over 8 feet in diameter, and approximately 5 feet deep with an estimated weight of over 1000 lbs.
The eagle nest is located approximately 75 miles from Washington, D.C. on the campus of United States Fish and Wildlife Services (USFWS) National Conservation Training Center. The nest is next to the Potomac River, which provides an abundance of fish and other food sources. The NCTC campus is near Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
Since 2006 dedicated citizen scientists, aka eagle enthusiasts have watched and reported on the daily events at this nest.
